[p][/p][p]Frogs! You have work to do![/p][p][/p][p]Another Gang of Frogs Playtest has begun! This one is the biggest push we've made yet, with game-changing updates and additions to the player experience and core loop. The team has been working hard and we're excited to see you all play and share your thoughts! Time to hop on to the Leviathan and hunt some Hoarders![/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink]In order to join the playtest, head over to our steam store page and find the "Join Playtest" button. There is no gatekeeping here, everyone can join the fun![/p][p][/p][p]The main additions to the game this time around include:[/p]

• [p]A brand-new First Time User Experience. This eases players into the game a bit more and presents players with the main elements of gameplay from the moment you start your game for the first time. Returning testers will also experience this since we purge the relevant savegame files on first launch of the new version. [/p]
• [p]New, narrative-driven questlines to complete in single-player mode, which introduce you to the meta loop of the game, one character at a time; Gunther's emporium (card unlocks), Bono's Menya cart (player buffs) and Rocco's Tattoo shop (permanent upgrades).[/p][p]These new narratives bring more of Gang of Frogs' world into focus, where players get a feel for what it's like to be a frog at Hank's beck and call. [/p][p]For example, these vats are where the frogs are bred for warfare:[/p][p][/p]
• [p]Bono has a bigger role to play now! upon unlocking Bono, you'll gain access to our first iteration of his Menya cart! He makes you soup out of the ingredients you collect during your runs![/p]
• [p]A new, continuous flow for the PCG levels. Players are not teleported between levels anymore - instead we've introduced doorways into the world, behind which players will find Gunther's card shop and Bono's Menya cart, and a second doorway into the next level.[/p]
• [p]A visual overhaul of the mission selection inside the Leviathan, now sporting planets which players unlock and choose from.[/p][p]Also introducing a textured version of the Leviathan's drop pods:[/p][p] [/p]
• [p]Loot Crates now spawn randomly in levels. Inside them, players can find:[/p]
  • [p] Weapons - no more weapon cards in the shop![/p]
  • [p]gold - spend it all in the card shop![/p]
  • [p]XP points - collect these to level up during missions (added health and damage) and gain permanent ranks to unlock more cards for Gunther's emporium![/p]
• [p]New weapon models! - all weapons now have a specific model![/p]
• [p]A new wearable: the Kabuki Mask! Wear it with honor![/p][p][/p]
• [p]A new, neater main menu screen with some sweet, new menu music![/p]
• [p]A whole host of Audio improvements, Sound effects, music polish and immersion![/p]

[p][/p][h3]We have a couple of announcements for you![/h3][p][/p][p]Firstly, Gang of Frogs has teamed up with FirstLook.gg to handle playtest sign-ups! This service makes signing up for future Gang of Frogs playtests much cleaner and easier! 🐸[/p][h3]Click here to sign up for playtesting![/h3][p][/p][p]Secondly, the main event![/p][h3]We're hosting our next playtest this weekend; November 14th - 16th. The test will be open from Friday 12pm UTC to Sunday 12am UTC.🕛[/h3][p]The devs have been cooking🧑‍🍳, and this playtest will be loaded with new features! This will include some of our biggest changes yet, and if you've played before, you should definitely try it out again this time. There's heaps of new abilities and gameplay experiences; it's almost a new game altogether![/p][p]Simply sign up via the FirstLook link above if you're interested in joining![/p][p][/p][p]Updates to the game in v0.0.9:[/p]

• [p]Some quite interesting additions that make finishing a run more challenging than ever before. What might those be I wonder?[/p]
• [p]Some new permanent items and abilities that allow for different playstyles, especially in co-op play. The new abilities are:[/p]
  • [p]Heal Self - Heals the activating frog by a small amount[/p]
  • [p]Healing Area - When activated, creates an area around the activating frog for a short time, within which they and their fellow frogs get a small health regeneration boost[/p]
  • [p]Poison Cloud - The activating frog farts out a poisonous cloud that applies a damage-over-time effect to all enemies that enter it[/p]
  • [p]Taunt - When activated, draws the attention of nearby enemies who will then proceed to attack the activating frog[/p]
  • [p]Totem - Places a Totem on the ground which provides frogs in range with boosted fire rate[/p]
• [p]Balance adjustments for some items[/p]
• [p]First pass at showing controller keybinds for the abilities in the HUD when using controller. This will all be reworked later but might help you for now to remember which button does what.[/p]
• [p]A run completion time and the run difficulty have been added to the run end screen when successfully getting through 9 depths. We can't wait to see who can go fastest through Nightmare![/p]
• [p]Lots of visual and audio updates[/p]
• [p]Various bug fixes[/p]
