Demo Update – Codex & Major Gameplay Improvements

[p]Hey everyone,[/p][p]It's Dominik, the solo developer behind Arms of God. The latest demo update is live![/p][p]Update v0.41 focuses on adding long-requested clarity through a new Codex system, improving controls, and fixing several important gameplay issues.
[/p][h3]New Feature – Codex[/h3][p]I’ve added the Codex, an in-game knowledge base that gradually unlocks as you play and discover new mechanics, enemies, weapons, and events.
[/p][p]The Codex is divided into four categories:[/p]
  1. [p]Tips - practical insights about how weapons, stats, and mechanics really work under the hood.[/p]
  2. [p]Weapons - unlocked weapon merge combinations, along with hints on how to create them and what to focus on when upgrading.[/p]
  3. [p]Enemies - enemies are unlocked after killing a sufficient number of a given type. Each entry includes tactical advice on how to deal with them effectively.[/p]
  4. [p]Events - currently includes descriptions for Chest and Shrine, the two events available in the demo. Many more events will be added in future updates.[/p]
[p]The Codex is designed to reward curiosity and experimentation, without overwhelming new players upfront.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][h3]New Control Option – Mouse Only Mode[/h3][p]A new control scheme is now available: [/p]
  • [p]Movement using the mouse[/p]
  • [p]Left mouse button – interaction[/p]
  • [p]Right mouse button – skill[/p]
[p]This mode is especially useful for players who prefer a fully mouse-driven experience.[/p][p][/p][h3]Gameplay changes and additions[/h3]
  • [p]Each character class now starts with a different upgrade for their main weapon[/p]
  • [p]Doomsday Santa has left the game and will return when summoned again next year[/p]
[p][/p][h3]Weapon and combat changes[/h3]
  • [p]Weapons such as TwinBlast, LaserRifle, Detonator, Skystrike, and Railgun can now be created by merging Tier 1 weapons (Tier 3 weapon merging is still in production)[/p]
  • [p]Stun stat on weapons now works correctly[/p]
  • [p]Weapon speed scaling has been reworked:[/p][p]100% = 2x speed[/p][p]200% = 3x speed and so on[/p]
  • [p]Melee weapon shockwaves now correctly fire in the direction of the attack[/p]
  • [p]Weapon upgrades rebalanced up to Tier 2[/p]
[p][/p][h3]Fixes and improvements[/h3]
  • [p]Fixed a bug causing incorrect 10K damage calculations when changing a weapon’s element[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue allowing the game to start from level 16[/p]
  • [p]Heaven Wrath has been renamed to Air Strike (the previous name did not reflect its behavior)[/p]
  • [p]Air Strike now always explodes, even if its target dies beforehand[/p]
  • [p]Rebalanced difficulty scaling in Act 2 – later waves now ramp up in difficulty faster[/p]
  • [p]and many other small fixes.[/p]
