[/p]
Potential Release Date
[p]
Right now nothing is definite, but there is a possibility the full game could be released as soon as a few weeks after Next Fest at the beginning of November. I will provide more details on this as soon as I can.

[/p]
Health Updates and Decision Making
[p]
If you have followed any of the recent News posts on the Steam Hub for Bigfoot Life you may already be aware that I had a bone marrow transplant recently. I had a rare disease called VEXAS which also led me to having blood cancer. The transplant was successful, and I now have a second chance at life. I am beyond thankful for the donor and this blessing.

Since being released back home to Indiana from the NIH (National Institutes of Health) in May I had not been feeling the best and started to get worsening new symptoms. This had made it difficult to make the progress on the game I wanted and to release the game when I originally planned to. Thankfully I had a couple programmer contacts who have been able to help me during this time. Their names are listed under programmers and the developer sections of the Credits in the Demo and Full Game. I am so thankful for the help.

Things got pretty bad a couple weeks ago and I am now actually back at the NIH in Maryland. They finally have a diagnosis for the new health issues. I have GVHD (Graft Versus Host Disease). They are on top of things here and I am very thankfully to finally know what is going on. I will probably be out here for at least another couple weeks while they monitor everything since starting the new treatment.

I've been able to use this time to evaluate where Bigfoot Life is at and what the best way forward for the game is. I believe the best decision is to get the game out to all of you as soon as I can during this time that I am starting to feel a little better. After transplant you just never know when things might happen or turn in the wrong direction, so I feel it is best to make the push to get the full game out soon.

At launch the game may not have all the features or be exactly what I originally had hoped for but hopefully it will still be a good game that players will enjoy playing. It will still feature everything listed on the Steam page. I still believe it is important to be able to get the game out sooner rather than later because of the health issues and the uncertainty around that. I will continue to support and update the game after launch as well. This will allow me to keep providing updates and make the game the best possible game that it can be.

I hope to get a new trailer and screenshots out before Steam Next Fest next month.

Thank you so much for all your patience and support with the game. It means so much to me.

Bigfoot Life will no longer be in the upcoming Steam Fest.

I’ve decided to pull Bigfoot Life out of the Steam Next Fest on June 9th.

This was a hard decision, but it ultimately came down to putting my health over the game. You can only enter a Steam Next Fest one time. This should usually be done right before your game is released. This puts a lot of pressure and stress on me to get the game done as soon as possible.

I made a post a few months ago about me and my health but I will post a little more about it here in case you missed it so you can understand my decision better. My name is Wes and besides creating solo games for Planet 47 Games, I also create games with my brothers under Abrams Studios LLC. We have created games like Morels: The Hunt 1 and 2 as well as Morels: Homestead for the Quest VR headset.

After spending the last couple years battling a rare disease called VEXAS that also led to me having MDS (Blood Cancer), I had to get a bone marrow transplant. I officially had the transplant done in January at the NIH (National Institutes of Health) in Maryland. My family and I had to move out to Maryland to have the transplant done. We just got back from Maryland to our home in Indiana a couple of weeks ago. I just got the call that the UAB1 test came back, and I no longer have VEXAS. This is the best news. It is still a long road to full recovery but the is such great news. I still have to wait until July when I go back for my follow up and have a bone marrow biopsy done to see if the Blood Cancer is gone but the doctors are very confident that it is gone as well. This journey has been a rollercoaster of emotions. I am so thankful for my donor who has blessed me with a second chance at life. Even through these difficult times God has blessed us in so many ways. We are very thankful.

I’m pulling Bigfoot Life out of Next Fest because since I got back all my time has been focused on the game and getting everything ready for that, along with trying to get the full game done so I can release it soon. I’ve started to get GVHD (Graft Versus Host Disease), and the doctors believe it could be caused from stress. They recommend that I take a step back from the game and focus more on my health.
What does this mean for the Demo and release of the full game?
Not really much will change. The demo will remain up for anyone to play and give feedback on it. I will still be working on the full game. It is still possible the full game could still be released soon without being in any kind of Steam Fest. Not being in this upcoming Next Fest takes away that pressure that I have to release the game soon. Now I have the freedom to also look into options to help me finish the game with the least amount of stress on me as possible.

Thank you for all the support and your understanding.
