An Update on Pricing

[p]Hey everyone,

I've been listening closely to your feedback regarding the launch price of The Oily Depths.

After reviewing your comments and taking a hard look at where the game stands right now, I’ve decided to permanently reduce the base price from $7.99 to $2.99.

This is not a temporary sale — this is the new standard price moving forward.

My goal is for every player to feel like they got a great value out of their experience. Right now, I believe this new price better reflects the scope and length of the game.

For those who previously purchased the game: since The Oily Depths is a shorter experience, most players should still fall within Steam’s standard refund window. If that applies to you, you can submit a refund request through Steam Support and repurchase at the new price if you’d like. Refund approvals are ultimately handled by Steam Support.

Thank you to everyone for the support, feedback, and honesty. I really appreciate it.

See you in Nineveh,
Ryan[/p]

Demo Updated - Languages, Art/Sound Updates, Game Settings

[p]In the months that the demo has been available for The Oily Depths the game has come a long way. This update brings the demo closer to the standard that the full game will ship as.

Localization:[/p][p]The game is now localized in a number of languages that are available in the demo,[/p][p]French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean

Art Pass:[/p][p]The demo now has all the art assets that will be in the full game. The ship is looking better than ever, which also includes a lighting pass to give the ship a moodier feel.

Game Settings:[/p][p]By popular request there is now an Invert-Y Look option in the settings and also a way to adjust brightness. I wished these were in for the first launch for the demo, but at least I am now able to make the game accessible to more players.

Sounds:[/p][p]There has been a pass to make the sounds of the ship much more immersive. For an atmospheric horror game like The Oily Depths, sound plays a huge roll and I think this extra layer of polish will make for a more engrossing experience.

If you have not already, please Wishlist the game and I hope to see you in the depths.[/p][p]-Ryan
