Our new system adds a layer of unpredictability - sometimes, it’s all about rolling the dice. But don’t worry, it’s not just luck that’s at play; your skills and strategy will make all the difference.

NPC Archetypes: Know Your Opponent

NPCs come in different flavors, each with their own quirks and negotiation styles:
  • Honest Dealers: Straight shooters are likelier to give you a break in negotiations.
  • Smarties: Slick talkers who might try to hide a defect or two but are still willing to haggle.
  • Experts: These guys are tough cookies with keen eyes for flaws and a low tolerance for BS.

Your negotiation strategy will need to adapt depending on who you're dealing with - so choose your words (and offers) wisely!



Reading the Room: The Irritation Meter

Each time you push your luck with a worse offer, you also try the NPC’s patience. We've introduced an irritation system that, using animation, shows just how close your counterpart is to losing their cool. Push them too far, and the deal’s off! But don’t worry, you’ve got a few tricks up your sleeve to keep things civil - crack a joke, offer some candy, or maybe even a coffee. Just remember, timing is everything!



Inspection Matters: Spot the Flaws

Whenever you are the buyer, before you even start negotiating, you’ll have the chance to inspect the car. Find any hidden flaws? Use them to your advantage in the negotiation! Discovering a defect might give you the leverage to knock a few more bucks off the price.

Dynamic Deals: Buying and Selling

Negotiations aren’t just for buying; selling your cars will also require some serious negotiation chops. Whether you’re dealing with an amateur, an intermediate buyer, or a seasoned expert, their ability to spot issues and their negotiation tactics will vary.
