Glintseeker Island News

[p]Hey everyone![/p][p][/p][p]My name is David, and I’m one of the three developers behind Glintseeker Island. Today we simply want to say thank you to all of you in Japan.[/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]We recently started our first public playtest on Steam, and the response has been far beyond anything we expected. Out of the more than 10,000 players who joined the playtest so far, over a third came from Japan alone. Seeing so many players from Japan explore our little island and what lies below has been incredibly moving for our tiny team.[/p][p][/p][p]What makes this especially meaningful to us is that many of the games that inspired us originally came from Japan. Back in high school, the three of us spent countless hours playing together on our Game Boys and Nintendo DSs. We loved exploring the worlds of The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, and we have very fond memories of digging up fossils and rare gemstones in games like Fossil Fighters and the Underground in Pokémon Diamond & Pearl.[/p][p][/p][p]Those games left a lasting impression on us. The sense of adventure, curiosity, and discovery they gave us is something we still carry with us today. When we started developing Glintseeker Island, we wanted to capture a bit of that feeling again.[/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]So seeing players in Japan enjoy our nostalgic interpretation of those ideas truly means a lot to us.[/p][p][/p][p]Last year I also had the chance to visit Japan for the first time. I spent four weeks traveling through the countryside and visiting places like Osaka, Kyoto, and Tokyo, and I even attended Tokyo Game Show. It was one of the most memorable trips of my life. Experiencing the culture, the landscapes, and the passion for games there made a lasting impression on me.[/p][p][/p][p]Because of all that, seeing so many players from Japan now playing our game feels incredibly special and a little surreal.[/p][p][/p][p]To everyone who has played the playtest so far: thank you so much.
