0.991.49.2090 Public Beta Update

[p]Hey folks![/p][p][/p][p]Today's Beta update brings you the second (and tentatively final) wave of fixes that affect generation, meaning yes, the universe will be resetting once more! Our focus is on fixing bugs introduced with 0.991, specifically, as well as addressing issues with generation that we can incorporate without overexpanding our scope, and miscellaneous/normal operations items, such as new exoplanets.[/p][p][/p][p]The goal from here is to clear 0.991 for Public branch release. We still have plenty of ideas for improvements down the line, though, both internally and based on your excellent suggestions![/p][p][/p][p]Like with the previous mid-Beta update, the primary place for discussion is in the dedicated 0.991 channel on our Official Discord![/p][p][/p][h3]Changelog:[/h3]
  • [p]Fixed C-Hd stars having too low mass.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug where star age could exceed lifetime for systems with a stellar remnant.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug where binary planet orbits were often oriented on-edge, “cartwheeling” around their host stars.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug where SpaceEngine would crash if you changed the obliquity of a binary planet barycentre in the planet editor.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug where comets and asteroids were assigned temperature classes that were too hot, and moons were assigned temperature classes that were incorrect. Classes for all planets/moons/comets/asteroids are now based on their time-averaged distance from their host star(s).[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug where every solo star (ie: not in a multiple star system) had the same axial tilt of 100.28 degrees.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug where changing the oblateness in the Planet Editor was not reflected in the Wiki.[/p]
  • [p]Improved orbits so clipping between planets and stars is much less likely.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug where rings around dwarf moons were intersecting with their moon.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed distance to Centaurus A*.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed display of Quaoar’s name in the system browser.[/p]
  • [p]Updated the exoplanet catalogs with 9 new host stars and 16 new planets.[/p]
  • [p]Added new Featured Locations procured by the SE team.[/p]
