UPDATE v0.8.0
[p]I'm happy to announce that Miami Fighters is now completely free of anything AI generated. The upgrade images have been replaced with custom art! I've also added more upgrades, fixed some gnarly bugs and buffed a lot of melee related upgrades.[/p][p][/p]

  • [p]Added: Spawning of normal weapons will now spawn equal amounts of guns and melee weapons[/p]

  • [p]Fixed: Pressing "view scoreboard" button in the pause menu while "return to main menu" popup is visible causes wrong button to regain focus[/p]
  • [p]Fixed: Playstation controller(s) not vibrating (Godot finally fixed it 🎉)[/p]
  • [p]Fixed: PlayStation controller(s) sometimes took up two player slots, instead of one. This would happen when the controller is wireless connected, and then plugged into the pc with a cable[/p]
  • [p]Fixed: Other controller issues regarding Godot 4.6.0 upgrade[/p]
  • [p]Fixed: "card unlocks at" description in upgrade cards[/p]
  • [p]Fixed: Value presentation in current upgrades view not being correct[/p]
  • [p]Fixed: If a player dies while being stunned, it would reset its position to where it was stunned instead of a spawn point[/p]
  • [p]Fixed: An issue that happened when checking if the damage is valid in Team Mode when hitting the environment laser. I think this correlates with the bots being broken sometimes[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Updated: Player spawner now checks what spawn point has the least amount of players nearby and is the furthest from all the players[/p]
  • [p]Updated: Larger triangle icon above players when playing Teams Mode[/p]
  • [p]Updated: Buffed Chance to deal lightning damage to max 50% and buffed the percentages of all tiers[/p]
  • [p]Updated: Buffed Block chance to have a max of 30% and buffed the percentages of all tiers[/p]
  • [p]Updated: Buffed Passive Healing and Passive Healing Amount percentages of all tiers[/p]
  • [p]Updated: Buffed Stun attack percentages of all tiers[/p]
  • [p]Updated: Buffed Extra Ricochet to +3 on mythic, and to a max of 5[/p][p]I've buffed most of the melee upgrades to balance out difference between guns and melee. It's also more rewarding to get higher percentages and to actually feel a difference in the next round. Please let me know if you think it should be buffed even more[/p]
  • [p]Updated: Godot version from v4.4.1 stable to v4.6.0 stable.[/p][p]Please report any bugs that may arise from this update so I can provide the most optimal and bug-free game experience.[/p][p][/p]

  • [p]Capture The Flag (CTF) Game Mode. In this mode you need to need to steal the flag and:
    1. Hold it as long as possible without dying (you get points for holding the flag)
    2. Steal the flag and bring it back to your "base".

  • [p]Random Game Mode. In this mode, you get different rules each round. One round you play Time Mode, the next round you play Survival Mode or CTF. I think this would be an awesome addition to make the rounds more diverse.[/p]

Steam Deck known issue

Do you get a Steam Deck error?
[p]At this moment Steam Deck users are unable to use the Linux build. When starting the application, Steam Deck will give the following error: Missing game executable - /Miami Fighters.x86_64. [/p][p][/p]
Instructions
[p]If you want to play Miami Fighters on the Steam Deck, please follow the instructions below.[/p]
  • [p]Change the Miami Fighters Properties[/p]
  • [p]Go to the "Compatibility" tab[/p]
  • [p]Select "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool"[/p]
  • [p]Open the dropdown and select a new Proton version (9 or 10)[/p]
  • [p]Accept the changes and play the game![/p]
[p][/p][p]I will work on a fix to make the Linux build compatible. UPDATE v0.7.5
[p]This update I've yet again been working on making the environment more dynamic. You can now experience springy platforms that will bounce in all directions when you collide with them. This way you can even steer the platforms that have lasers on them and use them to your advantage. I've also optimized the game for low end devices.[/p][p][/p]

UPDATE v0.7.0
[p]This update I've been working on making the environment more dynamic. You can now experience destructible platforms and a laser beam can spawn out of nowhere and do environmental damage. I've also added more hand crafted props, like a VHS stand and animated grass and bushes.[/p][p][/p]

[p]I've built a tutorial map to help out our new players! When the game starts, you will be dropped into the tutorial map where you can practice your movements and weapon control. Step on the arrow and follow the track to complete the tutorial (optional). Once you're done messing around, you can enter the portal to start the game.
