Development update

BIG UPDATE

We're back with a big update! Stock Mode is added for MF'ers that prefer to play without time. We also made many new custom accessories and added tons of languages!

New game mode

Stock mode lets you play with lives instead of time. This way you can play more strategic without having to deal with time. Survive the longest to win the round. The amount of stocks is configurable in the Game Options.



New accessories

We added 15 custom made accessories! They are now also pixel perfect, to the character, and animated.



New languages

The following languages are now present in Miami Fighters
  • English
  • Dutch
  • Simplified Chinese
  • French
  • Italian
  • German
  • Serbian
  • Spanish
  • Japanese
  • Russian
  • Portugese

If you find a translation that is incorrect, please let us know in the Community Hub.

Other changes
  • Added: Disclaimer seizure warning and updated font size for readability
  • Added: Apply random accessory for players in demo mode (don't touch any key for 15 seconds in the Main Menu screen to activate demo mode)
  • Fixed: First press on controller or ESC button didn't do anything in player selection
  • Fixed: Team mode sub score alignment for 5 and 15 matches

Happy new year!

First off we want to thank you guys for supporting the game. We hope you've been enjoying it thus far, I know I have. Next year we'll be bashing out updates for you, so stay tuned!
We wish you all a happy 2025.

Changes
  • Added: More platform types
    • Elevator platform
    • Sinking platform
    • Conveyor platform
    • Vanishing and reappearing platform
  • Updated: Most maps to make use of the new platform types
  • Updated: The first weapons that spawn per round are now all the same.
    This increases the fairness of the game.

  • Fixed: Bullet doesn't ricochet on platforms moving towards incoming bullet

Changes
  • Added: Toggle for controller vibration in options menu
  • Added: Vignette flashing in the color of the winning player for the last couple seconds of a match
  • Added: Take consecutive losses into account when getting upgrades
    • The higher the player is ranked (1st place being the highest), and the more consecutive losses a player has, the higher probability he gets for a better upgrade
    • This eliminates the "losing on purpose in the beginning" to get ahead with better upgrades
  • Changed: Greatly reduced default knockback for all base weapons
  • Changed: Upgrades now have rounded numbers.
    • Example: +33.4% is now +33%, and +33.6% is now +34%
  • Updated: Darker vignette when the match is almost over
  • Updated: Clearer text in Scoreboard view
  • Updated: Most solid platforms now have full surrounding neon

  • Fixed: Starting the match didn't work properly on some devices
  • Fixed: Custom font not working on non-Windows devices
  • Fixed: When audio is 0 on Master bus and MF is restarted, the audio does not get set 0

New feature

We're happy to announce the new and epic SHORT BOOST functionality!
Cat Nova will spawn occasionally, if you pet her, you get a short boost.
The probability for Cat Nova to spawn is configurable in the options menu.

Other changes
  • Removed: Left stick navigation for color and acc in player selection
  • Changed: Higher ultra weapon spawn probability
  • Changed: Ultra weapon damage also multiplies with 'More Damage' upgrade
  • Changed: Instantly pickup weapon when round starts
  • Fixed: Player color selection not always changing to correct next or previous color
  • Fixed: Key hint scales with camera zoom and sticks to player
  • Fixed: Discord invite link (new link will not expire)
  • Fixed: Refactored saving game settings as .cfg instead of .tres
    • Notice: your game configuration will be reset to the default values

Development update

We're happy to announce the first update since the release! Full of bug fixes and optimizations. we want everyone to enjoy Miami Fighters, so we added a solid implementation for localization. Adding more languages in the future will now be a lot easier.
