Dogs have never really caught on up here as a standard pet. Their fur coats often aren't enough to handle the extreme weather! On average, Canadian households own 1.46 Harp Seals. They are loyal, obedient, and great at fetching the mail (although they often bring it back soggy). Plus they can live for over 30 years!
