Many players complain that the Windows Defender detects the game launcher file as a virus. We have sent the game build to Microsoft for investigation. The answer came yesterday and it was: no malware detected.
The problem is due to outdated version of Windows Defender. Everyone who has encountered same problems with downloading and installing the game, needs to install Windows Updates. If for some reason you do not want to install updates, you need to add game folder and Steam download folder to Windows Defender exceptions( C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Battle of Empires 1914-1918
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\downloading). But we strongly recommend you to update the Windows.
