What's next?

Hey everyone! Just a quick update on what’s coming next for Looney Landers. Based on your feedback, I’ve been working on some changes, and I wanted to keep you all in the loop.
Just updated
Improved Player Contrast – To make it easier to tell players apart, I originally planned this as an optional setting, but after testing, the change will now be permanent for a better experience all around.

Additional visual cues to better follow the flow of action

Retro Joystick Support – Support implemented for THECXSTICK from Retro Games Ltd. Both the stick and outer ring can be used to control the player.
Coming soon
Two New Stages – More variety and longer matches while still keeping that quick arcade-style gameplay. Plus, more chances to grab all those bonus goodies!

Balancing & Tweaks – A long list of adjustments across the board to fine-tune gameplay. Too many details to list, but expect improvements in all departments!
Later on…
New Game Modes – In addition to Classic, I’m exploring two new modes:
Random Mode and Endless Mode – subject to change and details TBC.
These will take some time since they require new rule sets, but I’m excited to experiment with them.
And beyond that?
Achievements? – I’d love to add Steam achievements, but I need to find a way to hook my hand-made, engine-free code into the Steam SDK. Still looking into it!

High Score Challenges – The recent 500K challenge was a blast! (Congrats to WYP, MIM, and SPY for topping the leaderboard!) In a couple of months, we’ll run another one in Hard Mode. If these become regular events, I might set up a dedicated challenge leaderboard.
The Launch Crash issue
Some players with multi-monitor setups have been experiencing crashes at launch. After consulting with some experts, it seems to be a driver issue affecting certain GPUs. I’ll be testing different screen management methods to improve compatibility and hopefully resolve this issue soon.

That’s all for now! Thanks again for all your feedback and support.

You have more control than you think...

This should get you started with the default gamepad and keyboard controls.
Do take note of some of the actions, as it could make a difference to how you fine-tune movement.
