Double Action dev build playtest this Saturday
[p]Hey folks! I'm gearing up to release a new version of Double Action soon, and you are invited to help playtest it. I've been wanting to do some of these changes for many years, and I had a week free. Please join me in testing these changes ahead of their release.[/p][p][/p]
How to join the playtest
- [p]Make sure you have Double Action installed[/p]
- [p]In your Steam library, right click on Double Action: Boogaloo and click "Properties..."[/p]
- [p]Click the "Betas" tab[/p]
- [p]Under "Beta Participation" choose the "develop" branch.[/p]
- [p]Click the "Installed Files" tab[/p]
- [p]Click the "Verify integrity of game files" button[/p]
Changelist
- [p]Every style ability now has a new passive.[/p]
- [p]Updates to Bouncer:[/p]
- [p]New passive: Brawling enemies grants +25 health. This effect has a 20 second cooldown, but resets if you get a kill.[/p]
- [p]Bouncers deal more and receive less Brawl damage (they didn't deal any more damage before even though the game said they did, oops)[/p]
- [p]Bouncers have a slightly higher Brawl range[/p]
- [p]Bouncer Brawl freezes enemy players by 50% for .35 seconds[/p]
- [p]Updates to Reflexes:[/p]
- [p]New passive: Reflexes now automatically activates slowmo if you get damaged by a bullet while at full health.[/p]
- [p]Reflexes automatically grants one second of slowmo.[/p]
- [p]Updates to Marksman:[/p]
- [p]New passive: Getting a headshot on an enemy refills half of your magazine.[/p]
- [p]Updates to Athletic:[/p]
- [p]New passive: The player now gets a +50% style bonus while stunting.[/p]
- [p]Updates to Nitrophiliac:[/p]
- [p]New passive: Hitting an enemy with a grenade slows them and momentarily reveals their position.[/p]
- [p]You can now see enemy player health bars.[/p]
- [p]Health regeneration starts much quicker if there are no enemies around and regenerates your health much more quickly.[/p]
- [p]The Wanted now starts with a full Style Bar, which depletes over time. If it depletes then they "win" the minigame. If they get a kill then some Style is added, prolonging their time as Wanted.[/p]
- [p]Sometimes Wanted would go a very long time if it was given to a player with a high skill differential compared to other players in the server. Now this player will have to continue to get kills if they want to extend Wanted, and either way the minigame will eventually end.[/p]
- [p]Players now no longer lose progress in the Rat Race if they die.[/p]
- [p]Sometimes Rat Race would go a very long time due to nobody being able to complete it. This was done to help ensure Rat Race ends in a reasonable amount of time.[/p]
- [p]Players now receive only 85% of the damage if they are shot in the back.[/p]
- [p]Style grant changes:[/p]
- [p]Aim in bonus lowered to 10%[/p]
- [p]Bonuses stack additively rather than multiplicatively[/p]
- [p]Sliding bonus lowered to 65% from 100% since sliding is easier[/p]
- [p]New view model and sounds for Black Magic.[/p]
- [p]Vote kicking players is now no longer available.[/p]
- [p]This feature was intended to help players police hacking, but ended up being used much more often to kick high skill players.[/p]
- [p]A new game startup song.[/p]
- [p]Fix: Shotguns would sometimes not reload if the reload was interrupted by brawling[/p]
- [p]Fix: Animation errors if you switch weapons during a grenade throw[/p]
- [p]A few other small bug fixes.[/p]
