Rottenroots Against Living Miserably

[p]Hey everyone![/p][p]Time to talk about a serious topic today.[/p][p]Unfortunately, every year many young people decide to end their lives - way too many. In fact, in the UK, 125 people die from it every week, making it the biggest killer of men under 50.[/p][p]As people, we empathize with them and they people they leave behind.[/p][p]And as a dev team, we think we can maybe add just a tiny bit of help against that.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Our game's protagonist finds himself in harsh circumstances where it's easy to lose hope and give up, but he keeps fighting for a better future. With a character like that constantly on our minds, we feel like we need to work on a better future for our real world as well. And also, you know what? Sometimes a game, a good story, a different world is all you need to escape dark thoughts for a while.[/p][p]That's why we decided to support CALM, the Campaign Against Living Miserably. They provide a free suicide prevention helpline, and are really making a difference for people who are struggling. Besides that, they also offer helpful resources on their website.[/p][p]And this is how Steam comes into play as well. [/p][p]Running from 8–15 September, to mark World Suicide Prevention Day, we’re proud to take part in Games Against Living Miserably 2025 - the event on Steam that celebrates how games can help us unwind, connect, and escape. It’s presented by Curve Games and the suicide prevention charity, Campaign Against Living Miserably.[/p][p]At the moment, all we have is a free demo - so no proceeds directly from the game that we could donate. However, we're still going to make a donation (based on the assumed sales we would have made during the event). [/p][p]If you also want to support their cause, feel free to make a donation to them as well![/p]
