Preview – Usual Suspects content update

Knock-knock!

Good news in the world of the scorching sun are scarce. Same as water. And we are here to quench your metaphorical thirst with another update preview. Now at least 2x times juicer!

So, we’re not about to have a content drought here. Good to know. But what can you expect come Christmas? Well, let’s see:
 • 12 new guests — each with their own personality and dialogues. But you already know this part, so here’s another teaser with more new faces:

 • 6 extra character events — fleshing out stories and personalities for more guests. Tense, horrifying or just plain absurd. We hope that none of them will leave you disappointed:

 • One more ending — the perfect one for the more antisocial (or tragically unlucky) of the House owners out there;
 • Additional dream sequence — shroom-themed. Maybe even tastes like them, if you dream hard enough;
 • Return of a certain killer featurego back, to the days of the Steam Next Fest demo, and show that disgusting cockroach who owns the fridge;
 • Steam Trading Cards — to sweeten the deal and make replaying the game even more enticing.

Of course, some non-content related improvements are in order as well. After all, as mentioned above, we like killing bugs. And this update should prune a number of those from the game.

We’re also aiming to release No, I’m not a Human original soundtrack and the artbook together with this update. However, since this stuff involves not just our team, we can’t promise that they’re going to be ready at the same time as the update.

That’s about all we have for you this time around! But while you wait for the update, you might want to check out our freshly released Violent Horror Collection 2. After all, this post and No, I’m not a Human wouldn’t reach such heights if it wasn’t for the first part of this anthology!

See you in December!

Nominate No, I'm not a Human for Steam Awards 2025!
Hi there!
We indie devs love saying how thankful we are for our players. And we mean it every time! For us it’s impossible to find this transformative experience of connecting with the fans anywhere else. Only in video games made by small to medium sized teams. So thank you for supporting us and continuing to share your thoughts and fan art on No, I’m not a Human.

We’re still working on the upcoming content update, which is almost done. And there will be a post with more previews coming later this week. Actually, you know what? Here’s another teaser from it right away.

They don’t call him Wolfhound for nothing.

But, while we are diligently working on it, a certain noise started following us around. Not a knock this time. It was a buzz. Hard to escape during the day, and pursuing us into the night. It’s the buzz of Steam Awards 2025 Nominations!

There are a lot of very strong contenders this year and we hope that you’ve got the chance to experience them all. But we’ve also noticed, that the memorable artstyle of No, I’m not a Human with its iconic “night vision” filter spread quite far this year.
Soooo… Would you consider nominating No, I’m not a Human for the Outstanding Visual Style Award?
Don’t worry, the teaser above is completely unrelated to this suggestion… haha…. ha.
You should absolutely consider nominating the game you think is worthy! But if you think that it could be us – we'd be forever thankful even for that thought alone.

And, by the way, some of you might remember your first encounter with No, I’m not a Human to be in the Violent Horror Stories anthology. Well, the 2nd installment is already out! And it has a bunch of projects from the people on our team as well. They might not have the same scale as No, I’m not a Human, but… who knows, maybe with your support, one day, some of them might?

Anyways, see you in the next post! And then some.

Thankful and humbled,

Patch #2

General:
 • The Mushroomhead now properly visits you only after you complete the game at least once (excluding the ending where you get killed);
 • The Mushroomhead now also properly appears after reloading;
 • Changed the Exit key for French keyboard layout (AZERTY) to be A instead of Q;
 • After you decode the message on the radio, you can speed it up by holding Shift on keyboard or the Right Trigger on the gamepad;
 • Fixed an issue where Pretty Thing’s baby wouldn’t show up in the appropriate hiding places. What can we say, he was too good at hiding!
 • Also improved the checks for the Pretty Thing’s belly growth process, so it would save the states more reliably. Let us know if you still see it roll back to a normal state;
 • It’s no longer possible to click your self into a softlock by interacting with the TV or the bed multiple times;
 • Fixed the issue where you could no longer interact with beer after the Hunter or the Fatman would come into your house;
 • The mushroom and the apple no longer reappear after reloading;
 • Fixed the localization for the Intruder, where he would mistakenly say that you have no place for him;
 • Fixed the localization error for the Fatman in Spanish and Portuguese, where he would give a whole {0} of a consumable. Such generosity!

Boring technical stuff:
 • Updated Unity Engine to a newer version

500k copies sold and upcoming update teaser

Trioskaz! Open up! We’re here to say thank you to everyone who has supported the game. And we won’t take no for an answer.
[p][/p]
No, I’m not a Human has sold over 500 000 copies to date!

[p][/p][p]It feels surreal to have this many people play your game, draw tons of amazing fan art and discuss it online. Stunning contrast of human connection and a game about isolation. Thank you, truly! We will forever cherish this moment, and every other milestone shared with you.
[/p][p]Of course, we’re not settling down or instantly moving to another project. Our utmost priority right now is to fix all the annoying bugs and make some QoL adjustments. However, be it as important as it is, this might not sound especially interesting. Well, we agree – and plan to add new content as well! For exa~ \[knock-knock-knock]... hold up, someone’s at the door.

[/p][p]Right on cue![/p][p][/p][p]Yup, we’ll be adding new guests! 12 new guests to be precise. All of them being based off of our dear Patreons who have supported No, I’m not a Human all the way back. That’s not all we have planned for the update, though – but we’ll reveal more at a later date.[/p][p][/p][p]We’re also working on adding Steam Trading Cards. You might’ve seen the movie cover homages we’ve posted on our socials prior to the game’s release. The plan is to make couple more of those and use them for the trading cards. And yes, we are considering to also make some items for the Point Shop in the future as well.
[/p]
Speaking of art. Lay your eyes onto these incredible fan artworks!
[/p]
The Cat-Gremlin
[p](via @Sherrick_Mads on X)[/p]
[p][/p]Portrait of a Widow
[p](via @irlplasticlamb on X)[/p][p]
[/p][p]By the way, if you’re into narrative-heavy horror games, check out Drowned Lake.[/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p] Thick, grungy narrative and palpable atmosphere will tug you down to the bottom of a sinister mystery behind an infamous lake. Brazilian folklore is only sparsely covered in games, so this alone warrants keeping an eye on the game[/p][p]
And also, definitely check out our next game – Lost in Roots! [/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]It's a 2D adventure with a tangled story about guilt, in which a girl is kidnapped and held captive in some unknown attic located somewhere inside a giant living Forest in the countryside. Who and why has taken the girl to such godforsaken place? And what do you do when you have nowhere to run? [/p][p][/p][p]That’s all for today. Thank you once again for all the support, and see you in another post – sooner than you might expect.

Hotfix #5

 • Mushroom Eater will now visit you as a usual random Visitor, even on your first playthrough. Previously he'd come only on repeated playthroughs after reaching any non 'game over' ending
 • Second fix for the disappearing Visitors when attempting to save at night and reload said save. This time for sure
 • The Usual Suspects achievement should now properly unlock
 • Fixed the occasional softlock when attempting the save on quit. If you still encounter this issue -- let us know
 • Also, hopefully fixed the black screen that appeared after certain endings. Send us a bug report if it persists
