Developer Note: Addressing Feedback on Copper Adjustments & Future Improvements

Hello, this is the Game of Thrones: Kingsroad Development Team.

We have been closely following player feedback regarding the recent adjustments to how Copper was acquired using sheepskin and traits following the latest update. First and foremost, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience this change has caused to our players’ gameplay experience.

We implemented this change after noticing that in certain scenarios, Copper was being acquired at rates beyond what was originally intended for game balance. From a long-term perspective, our goal to maintain game balance and a healthy economy made it a change we could not avoid. When a particular method becomes excessively efficient due to a system flaw, it can negatively impact the fairness and viability of other game content and progression.

However, we fully understand and empathize with the frustration many players are feeling, especially those who already find it challenging to obtain Copper, and now have one less avenue available. Our development team has been consistently monitoring the imbalance between Copper supply and consumption through various data points, and we have internally recognized the need for improvement.

Daily Consumption vs. Acquisition Metrics // (Left: Consumption / Right: Acquisition)

This adjustment is just one part of the solution, and we are well aware that a more fundamental one is required. We are currently exploring various methods to diversify Copper acquisition, increase the overall amount players can acquire, and adjust unnecessary consumption points.

To give players a clearer picture of our plans, we are first considering a general increase in the Copper rewards for repeatable content that consumes RP. Our goal is to allow players to naturally earn more Copper simply by engaging with the repeatable field content in-game. Secondly, we are working to normalize the currently underperforming production and trade in the Estate and establish them as significant sources of Copper. We are preparing a major overhaul of the Production and Trade system in Renan's Rest to provide a passive source of Copper. (For example: Players will be able to hire a new type of workers who will generate greater amount of Copper over time)

These changes were initially planned to be implemented in the April 28th Update; however, they were excluded due to the need for further adjustments. Once again, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this delay may have caused while these improvements are taking time to implement, and we are preparing a special gift to show our appreciation to our Early Access players.

Until then, we will continue to monitor player experiences, and do our best to mitigate any difficulties through events and other means. We also look forward to engaging with diverse opinions during our upcoming AMA session. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
