🦝 DEMO IS LIVE! + NEW CINEMATIC TRAILER 🎉

Welcome to the coziest trash corner of indie gaming!

Hey friends!

Today’s a big day — the demo version of Trailer Park Tycoon: Raccoon Ranch is now available on Steam!

And alongside it, we’re dropping a brand-new cinematic trailer that dives deep into the world of rust, raccoons, and wonderfully questionable customers.

🔧 What’s this game about?
Trailer Park Tycoon: Raccoon Ranch is a farming and shop management sim packed with dark humor and furry misfits.
You start with a junky plot in the middle of nowhere — your goal? Build an empire and become a true booze baron.
Raccoons, weirdos, shady deals and glorious filth — just the way we like it.

🎬 New cinematic trailer — and a fresh logo!
We’ve spent about five months crafting this hand-drawn animated trailer, made with love (and a bit of beer) by our amazing artists.
It captures the heart of the game and sets the tone for the weird, wild ride ahead.

Oh — and we’ve also updated the game’s logo to better reflect the chaos and charm of our raccoon-filled world. Let us know what you think!

🧡 Like what you see? Add us to your wishlist!
It really helps us as an indie team — the more wishlists we get, the more visibility we gain on Steam.
And don’t forget to leave feedback on the demo — your thoughts help shape the final game!

QNA with author: solo development

Hello, trailer park residents! Want some insider information?

We had a chat with the solo developer behind Trailer Park Tycoon, who previously made waves with the quirky indie title Dog Brew. He’s flying solo again — this time with even bigger ambitions. Let’s talk about why he sticks to Godot, what keeps him going, and how penguins and rats found their way into his latest game. We'll also spoil some footage from the upcoming cinematic, which will be ready soon!

Why did you decide to go solo instead of building a small team?

When I made Dog Brew, I wanted to explore all aspects of game development — design, code, art, everything. For Trailer Park Tycoon, I outsourced character models and animations since I couldn’t get them to the level I wanted on my own.
But there are real advantages to working solo: it’s easier to fix bugs, cheaper overall, and all the credit is yours.

Why Godot? Any plans to try other engines?

At first, I was just curious — everyone was talking about it as a Unity alternative. Then I got hooked. It’s more beginner-friendly than Unity and offers more flexibility than Game Maker.
Most importantly, it’s the only engine that’s ever helped me finish a game. I don’t see a reason to switch. The longer I stick with Godot, the more reusable tools and solutions I build up for future prototypes and games.

What’s the hardest thing about being a solo dev?

Consistency. You can learn to code, stylize your visuals, grab royalty-free music. But showing up every day to do work you don’t always feel like doing — that’s like taking a cold shower. You never really get used to it. It’s tough every time.

What’s your plan for your game dev future?

I focus on making small prototypes and putting them on itch.io. If one gets traction, I make a Steam page, gather wishlists, and develop the idea further.
I wouldn’t spend 3–5 years on a single game unless I already had a dozen moderately successful releases behind me.

How did you learn Godot?

I’ve been using a computer since I was 9. The first tool I learned was Macromedia Flash — just clicked every button to see what it did. Later on, I noticed that most programs share similar UI logic. I’ve never followed tutorials step by step. I don’t think you learn much that way.

Any tips for solo devs?

I burn out easily, so I stick to small projects and work on them a little bit every day. That helps me stay on track. Most importantly: finish your games. The final stretch of development brings a whole new set of challenges that nobody talks about. You can start 10 games and gain experience in beginning projects — but finishing them is a whole different skill set. You only get that by pushing through to the end.

How did your experience with Dog Brew help with Trailer Park Tycoon?

Finishing Dog Brew gave me the confidence that I could actually ship a game. It helped a lot — especially since I’m still using the same engine.

Did any games, devs, or studios inspire your concept?

Honestly, no. Trailer Park Tycoon is a spiritual successor to Dog Brew. That game was a 3D version of a clicker I made in Godot. The theme for the clicker? Just something that popped into my head.

Any plans for DLC?

If it does well commercially — absolutely.

Do you have a favorite character in the game?

Visually — the penguin, Xander. Conceptually — the little rat, Daniel.

Are any characters based on real people?

Nope. I just wrote character briefs for my 3D modeler based on clichés: alcoholic mom, crazy fitness freak, grumpy grandma — that kind of thing.

If you had to drink something from the game, what would it be?

I don’t drink.

Our first Devlog!

Hello everyone! We have some good news to share - Trailer Park Tycoon: Raccoon Ranch has gathered over 20k wishlists. Twenty thousand!! We’re very flattered, please keep going! 🔥🔥🔥

For real, thank you for your support - this is not the end of our possibilities together.

And of course, how could we leave you without a devlog! What changed since last time?

Our editor remade the trailer to use the updated model for Cooper. What do you think?

And all the while UI designers work on the game’s interface so that your business in the trailer park could thrive, money would flow, and your grandma would call you a good raccoon.

And now, for something really interesting. We’ve started working on the cinematic! You’ll have a blast watching a small animated cartoon about Cooper. Here’s the first scene draft our artists made.
