Starlight Re:Volver News

Starlight Re:Volver is a roguelike action RPG disguised as a high-octane anime opening, and it's dropping next year

The action in Starlight Re:Volver is like watching those anime openings where the characters do cooler stuff than they ever pull off in the actual show. Its bright cast of characters smash enemies apart with screen-filling beams of light and explosions as they clear out levels within its roguelike structure...

Starlight Re:Volver Dev Post - Early Access and Gameplay Insights

Hi everyone, thank you for all of your interest and questions!

It’s been amazing to see all the attention and support across Youtube, Twitter, and Tiktok from people who resonate with our art style and game direction. We set out to create Starlight Re:Volver as an immersive and fun experience where we could spend quality time with our friends — and we are dedicated to seeing it come to life!
“How to be notified for closed playtest opportunities and early access release?”
Following Starlight Re:Volver on our Steam game page will ensure that you’re notified when we make dev announcements! If you’re signed in on Steam, the Follow button is located right under the screenshot media carousel of the game next to the wishlist button if you haven’t already wishlisted us :)

If you’ve already wishlisted us you will be notified when we release our game for early access!
“Roguelite vs RPG?”
Our combat loop is a 1-4 player co-op roguelite but our greater game is largely inspired by other genres that we grew up playing and adoring such as RPGs and social games (Gaia Online, Club Penguin, Maplestory, etc), and a shonen anime-inspired art style! In our gameplay, we have 2 distinct features that are unique to our game amongst other releases in this genre.
 1. Town MMO hub supporting dozens of players per server where you can spend time in with friends doing social minigame activities, interact with others, crafting, etc.
 2. Roguelites are typically associated with being dark and intense. We instead are bringing a fresh and vibrant take on combat engagements that make them feel like a magical party!

We'll be making community announcements here regularly so follow along to be the first to hear of playtesting opportunities, early access release scheduling, and gameplay updates!

Signing off now,
Pahdo Labs Team

I don't know why the hell it's taken someone this long to say "What if we Sailor Moon'd the hell out of an ARPG?" but Pahdo Labs has only gone and done it with its upcoming game Starlight Re:Volver. With a delightfully colourful cast rooted in old-school magical girl vibes, it's a welcome change from the usual dark and gritty aesthetic that's so prevalent among the genre...

Ex-Riot and Ubisoft devs' new anime game is JRPG Diablo

When I forwarded the press release for Starlight Re:Volver to my esteemed PCGamesN colleagues, deputy news editor Ed Smith informed me that it "looks very you." Now, my credits include reviewing Diablo 4 and delving deep into the plague-ridden world of A Plague Tale: Requiem - I'm drawn to dark, twisted worlds overrun with hellspawn and drenched in blood. But, what Ed also knows is that I'm a sucker for a good ol' bright pink skin, and I absolutely adore that anime aesthetic - thankfully, Starlight Re:Volver blends those two worlds together, and it does, in fact, look very me.
