[p][/p][h2]Greetings Calyx players![/h2][p][/p][p]A big Happy New Year to all of you, from us at Studio 568.[/p][p][/p][h2]Limited access playtest – 1,000 players[/h2][p][/p][p]We're conducting a limited playtest of the first section of Calyx's campaign.[/p][p][/p][p]We're giving access to the first 1,000 players who request it, so be sure to request access quickly if you'd like to play, and you have time to complete a short survey.[/p][p][/p][p]This playtest, and the survey will be in English only.[/p][p][/p][h2]Sign up now[/h2][p]Visit the Calyx Steam Page, scroll down and hit the “Request Access” button.

  • [p]Tech Tree: earn Research Points and unlock new technologies[/p]
[p]If you’ve played the pre-release demo, you’ll encounter lots of other updates, including a new volcanic biome, improved VFX, more dramatic lighting and the ability to export your end of map summary as a GIF.[/p][p] [/p][h2]Player survey[/h2][p]We’ll be creating a short survey so you can give feedback. There will be a link to the survey from within the playtest build. Campaign progress – December dev update

Greetings Calyx players!
[p][/p][p]We’re now working hard on the Early Access release of Calyx. Here’s an update on some of the new content that’s coming.[/p][p][/p][h2]Campaign[/h2][p]We continue the story of the demo, as you and your empathy deficient AI attempt to contact the Avaris Corporation network. Build a communications array and keep the Calyx at bay for long enough to power it up and establish a comms link. Let’s see if those desk jockeys at Avaris HQ are paying attention.
[/p][p][/p][h3]All new maps[/h3][p]We’re planning an initial 15 maps as part of the Early Access release, some of which take place in a new volcanic biome.
[/p][h3]Tech tree[/h3][p]You can now gain Research Points by achieving objectives, and protecting Data Archives on the planet’s surface. You can spend those points in the tech tree to unlock upgrades.[/p][p]
[/p][h3]More, better upgrades[/h3][p]You can now upgrade buildings as well as units. Upgraded units and buildings have visual upgrades like more and bigger guns, and distinctive VFX.
[/p][h3]Enemy faction[/h3][p]As if dealing with the Calyx wasn’t enough, an enemy faction appears, complete with its own base, factories and units. Things are getting hectic!
[/p][h3]Improved Harvester queuing[/h3][p]Harvesters now behave more intelligently when waiting their turn to enter a Refinery and unload Ore.[/p][p][/p][h3]Skirmish seeds[/h3][p]You can now hit refresh on a Skirmish map if you don’t like the layout. We’ve also added seeds so you can save and swap Skirmish scenarios with other players.
[/p][h3]Many more smaller additions and fixes[/h3][p]We’ve done lots of smaller things, like more polished UI and VFX, quality of life features and bug fixes.[/p][h2]

v0.0.4.3 - minor fixes

[h2]Calyx Demo v0.0.4.3[/h2][p][/p][p]Hey everyone! 👋 [/p][p] We pushed a patch to address a couple of issues:[/p]
  • [p]Upgraded Unreal Engine version to 5.6.1 with the aim of fixing DirectX related crashes on start up which were affecting some PCs.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue related to key binds and the R and X keys. Affected players may need to re-bind those keys.[/p]

Calyx Demo v3 is now live!

Greetings Calyx players!
[p][/p][h2]We’re thrilled to announce that version 3 of the Calyx Demo is now live![/h2][h3][/h3][h3]There are lots of new things to try out, including:[/h3][p]- 6 new Challenge maps.[/p][p]- Events system - for example, a sandstorm that reduces solar power and weapon range.[/p][p]- Calyx species get even stronger, and lash out when attacked.[/p][p]- Build the Unit Workshop to unlock unit upgrades.[/p][p]- Formation types: select different shapes for groups of units. Use Shift to flip them 180 degrees.[/p][p]- Zeus Cannon unit. It’s a big laser tank![/p][p]- Ore Thumper building. Makes an Ore patch regenerate faster, but uses a lot of power.[/p][p]- Flamethrower Turrets.
