Bug Fix Patch - Boss Rush and Other Fixes

[p]Hello everyone, this is a minor update for a few small issues identified since the release of boss rush.[/p][p](This patch was previously rolled back, but is now fully out. Two additional soft-lock opportunities have been addressed.)[/p][h2]Fixes[/h2]
  • [p]A visual fix for a specific boss's death animation, whom would be half-unaffected by the boss rush death effects.[/p]
  • [p]An issue where setting audio too low in Settings wouldn't actually mute audio correctly was fixed. [/p]
  • [p]Clarification was added to the boss rush menu, so that it properly tells the player that pressing (X) or the equivalent input will quit back out to the main title screen, rather than just cancel menus after opening them.[/p]
  • [p]A bug where the cursor over enemy heads, their health bars, and their damage numbers would be misaligned, was fixed.[/p]
  • [p]An issue where achievements wouldn't properly back up the user's boss rush related save files was fixed.[/p]
  • [p]A rare error where, upon finishing the game, and immediately entering a battle in the same instance, the game could soft-lock in very specific circumstances. (For instance, if getting hit by the red frog fire attack). [/p]

Boss Rush Update - Release (!!) + Cirno Day Discount

[p]Happy Cirno Day everyone!![/p][p]By the time this update releases it may have already passed for some users sadly, but I hope you'll be able to enjoy it nonetheless.[/p]
Boss Rush
[p]This content update includes several things to talk about, and acts as a mini post-game epilogue story to play once the true ending has been completed. If you have completed the final boss of the main game, all you need to do to access this content is start the game on a finished save file:[/p][p][/p][p]New players will still go straight to the intro of the main game upon launch, so no major flow issues are introduced to the initial base game experience. Also, you can now hold the Z Button to skip the logo crawl, regardless of having finished the game or not, so anyone who prefers the former state has the ability to skip past them at least.[/p][p][/p][h2]Content[/h2][p]While I don't want to spoil too much before you hop in and try it yourself, I will briefly outline what this update is: [/p][p]There is a new mode, the aforementioned boss rush, which will test the player to defeat all the threats they have faced so far with new upgrades each time they play, but also one new one at the end... [/p][p]This mode will be playable both independently (without dialogue, after finishing it once.) and as a small mini-story that takes place right after the conclusion of the main game, and will itself have its own ending to experience.[/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]It also contains 3 more achievements, one of which is for unlocking all achievements at last, so hopefully you will all enjoy getting those. I don't want to spoil too much about the direct contents, but I hope you will all enjoy it![/p][p][/p][h2]Soundtrack[/h2][p]So, after the initial unfortunate delays, the soundtrack is finally being released in parallel with this update! [/p][p]The soundtrack will be released on a discount running concurrently with the main game's discount, and will include all of the songs in the base game. In addition, the songs from the Boss Rush content update will be updated into the soundtrack soon for free to anyone who owns it; past, present, or future. Boss Rush Update ~ Teaser

[p]So, I have been mostly satisfied with the state of the game, and I wouldn't want to make major continuations in the form of DLC, etc. I enjoyed making this game, and it has been fun to share it with you all, some bugs aside. [/p][p]However, I did note that many people felt it ended just a bit too soon, so I did want to add at least one small epilogue of content to the game. You can see the teaser here: [/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p] This Content Update should release on a certain special day for Cirno, 09/09, exactly a year after the original trailer for the game. [/p][p]It will include:
-The new content.
-Some minor QoL improvements.
-The soundtrack.
-A new Final Boss for the end of the Epilogue.

Elusive Teleportation Bug - Alleviated

[p]The content update I intended to make is nearly complete, and I hope it may be released on a certain special day, if possible...
In the meantime however, I located an occasional error that I had never been able to reproduce before, and still haven't been able to, but I DO believe I know what caused it, and I made the solution significantly smoother.[/p][h2]Mysterious Teleportation[/h2][p]I set up a safeguard earlier in my development for a rare circumstance where characters might get stuck in cutscenes. Occasionally, this seemed to trigger without TRULY being stuck (possibly on poorer computers or ones running streaming software or similar) and caused the safeguard to kick in, locking the character to their destination immediately. [/p][p]I couldn't exactly find a way to make the engine work more correctly at this stage of post-development without changing a vast amount of other elements, so I hope that the new solution will be less intrusive. Now, the character will simply begin to move regardless of the system getting stuck, so rather than warping, characters will just walk towards their location with a minor delay at the same speed they usually would've and without collision. [/p][p][/p][h2]Bug Reports[/h2][p]Unfortunately as stated, I couldn't actually find a way to reproduce this bug. I want to thank several users and a few Twitch streamers who helped me find this explaining their situations or having clips where this occurred themselves, and I apologize to those who have been affected by this.[/p][p]If you DO still have this or new, similar issues, and find there is some error related to characters walking strangely or still teleporting at the start of some cutscenes, please send me a message or email in one of the following places:[/p][p]X/Twitter:

Save File / Chapter Select Loading Problem Fix, Other Errors

Hello everyone, I'm hard at work at something actually quite important with some new content, which I'll post a teaser for soon here and on social medias (Refer to "More ways to Connect" down below or search for "Silva Memoria"), so look out for that...

In the meantime however, and while the translation is still being written, I found some potentially major errors which I have now fixed.
[h2]Save File Error[/h2]
I don't know exactly when this was added, but at some point in time there was a data error in save files made, which made certain event cutscenes not load correctly. Luckily, no new save files will have to be made, I simply made the game patch old save files to be compatible with the new framework that lacks this data error, and it should be fine to use any older file.
If you DO have a problem loading an older save file, please let me know with the link at the bottom!

[h2]Minor Fixes[/h2]
Some other small fixes:

  • Sometimes, burning, freezing, etc. would not trigger even on moves with a 100% chance to trigger them. This has been patched.
  • The 3rd basic enemy (non-boss) of the game had an error when inflicting burn effects more than once, this has been fixed.
