Devlog 01 – The Cow Boss Is Real, and It’s Angry
Hey friends!
It’s been a chaotic but super fun week working on one of the most ridiculous bosses in our game so far — and today, we’re finally ready to share it with you: Boss Cow 🐄
Now, we don’t want to spoil everything, but here’s a sneak peek at the cow’s current skill set and some behind-the-scenes nonsense that happened while building it!
[h3]Boss Cow's Skills (With Visuals – You’ll Want to See This)[/h3]
Charge Attack
This cow isn’t just mad — it’s relentless. It charges full speed straight at you, over and over again. You will need to stay on the move or get absolutely flattened.
Projectile Burst
At certain points, the cow goes wild and fires off projectiles in every direction. It’s chaotic, a little unfair, and honestly kind of funny watching bullets go everywhere like it’s a bullet hell rave.
Milk Bottle Toss
Yup. It throws a milk bottle.
But it’s not for drinking — when it lands, it creates a slow zone that makes your character move like they’re stuck in pudding. Watch your step.
Laser Spin
Possibly the most dangerous skill. The cow fires a laser beam, then spins non-stop, sweeping the whole arena. It’s part dance party, part “you’re not surviving this” unless your dodging game is on point.
UFO Drop
Because cows and UFOs go hand in hand, right?
The cow calls in a flying saucer from the sky that drops straight down to crush you. It’s slow at first, but if you’re not paying attention… well, goodbye.
UFO Chaos
Bonus twist: if the cow accidentally charges into the UFO, it goes bouncing across the screen like a giant pinball, dealing damage to anything in its way. It wasn’t planned, but it’s hilarious — so we kept it.
Laser Reflection
Oh, and if a laser hits a UFO?
Yeah. It reflects in random directions. Sometimes it hits you. Sometimes it hits the cow. Sometimes… it hits nothing.
You’ve been warned.

Okay so, some of these skills came from actual game design, sure.
But others? Total accidents. Or worse — jokes that became features.
So now it’s canon.

We’re still polishing this boss fight and adding more little chaotic surprises.

- The UFO idea came from that old meme about “UFOs abducting cows” in American pop culture. Naturally, we thought it’d be funny.
- Problem is, our cow is too fat. The UFO tries to suck it up… and fails.
- Someone on the team said, “what if the player could hide inside the UFO to avoid lasers?” — and, uh, now you can.
- The “jump smash” skill was literally the cow tripping and faceplanting. We animated it as a joke, then said: “wait... that kinda slaps?”
So now it’s canon.
