Collision Rework

This small update includes just one, but very important change:
  • The collision of the game location has been completely reworked, including the stairways. It’s possible that the issues with the chair flipping at the geometry seams will occur less frequently or disappear altogether, which is something we really hope for.

Additional Branch for Physics Testing

Hello!

Before the game’s release, the only rare and critical issue we found was the incorrect setting of the game window resolution on the first launch. After the release, it turned out that the game’s most important feature is also malfunctioning for some players. Moreover, the problem affects not only players with low-end PCs but also some users with powerful, modern machines.

If the game indeed runs incorrectly on PCs below the minimum system requirements, it’s likely because those PCs can’t keep up with all the physics and collision calculations. However, the situation with high-end PCs is unclear. We suspect that the PhysX game engine might not work properly on RTX 5000 series graphics cards. Although, this issue supposedly only affects very old games that are many years old.

We’ve added an additional branch with a separate game build where the physics behavior has been slightly modified. You can switch to this branch in the game’s Properties within the Steam client. If you’re experiencing physics issues like chairs flipping over for no reason, please try the build from this additional branch. And let us know if anything changes.

This small update includes the following changes:
  • Added German and French localization.
  • Adjusted the flashlight position to make it more noticeable for new players.
  • We noticed that some players don’t understand the point of helping the Girl. Now she gives additional information if you help her.
  • Added an extra random enemy to bring even more fun to the game. :D
  • Further improved chair stabilization.

If you find any bugs, please be sure to report them here, in the Community, or via email.

Adjustment of Chair Stability and Camera Shake

Thank you very much for the feedback you share!
This small but important update includes the following changes:
  • We have slightly adjusted the chair’s stability, so it should tip over much less often now. However, you still need to be careful when going down stairways — it’s not a walk in the park!
  • Additionally, we have added an option in the settings to reduce camera shake. The effect of this option is subtle but makes things a bit easier.

The game features two types of camera shake. The first is the shake caused by the character’s animations — the camera is attached to the character’s head and moves synchronously with it. This effect is difficult to remove as it happens naturally.
The second is an additional fake camera shake that activates when pressing the WASD keys. Thanks to the new option, this shake can now be disabled.
