A New Year's War Cry

Happy New Year, Grimp Hunters!

The button-eyed threat never sleeps. That's why it's important to gather strength before facing the Grimps in the coming year.

In the upcoming year, we wish you agility in all battles against soft foes, strength to defend the planet, and ingenuity in all your endeavors!

Thank you for being with us all this year! In the next year, we will continue to share details about GRIMPS.

See you on the plush battlefield in 2026!

Grimpfighters arsenal

Sharp-toothed greetings!

We continue to tell you about the game. We've talked more than once about the dangers that fighters against the plush invaders will face. This time, we'll show what the planet's defenders can use to protect their home.
Fully Armed
Ordinary weapons, of course, are effective against the critters, but in the conditions of the apocalypse, it's impossible to get your hands on a firearms arsenal. Therefore, many survivors try to make do with what they can find in the field. Fortunately, makeshift weapons also work well against the plush-stuffed threat.
Armed to the teeth
The player's main arsenal will consist of weapons made from makeshift materials. We've tried to create unusual yet recognizable outlines for the armaments.

Along with this, we strive to give each weapon distinct, vivid features. The flamethrower from the image above is ablaze with orange colors, and the hamstergun below doesn't need any special colors to stand out:

Of course, what's shown above doesn't even make up half of the arsenal. Throughout the story campaign, the player will find increasingly powerful ways to destroy the plush cubes.

Questions (and answers) about GRIMPS

Plushy greetings!

This week, we've prepared a special issue where we'll answer the most frequent questions from the community that have accumulated since the start of development.

You can ask new questions in our Discord community and Telegram channel - we'll try to address them in future posts!
How long will it take to complete the game?
We are aiming for 6-10 hours of very dense and rich gameplay for the main story.
How many different locations are planned?
The game will feature 3 large locations, a hub, and a tutorial level. Each of these biomes is unique and offers different activities. For full completion and collecting all rewards, players will need to return to previously visited locations and unlock new zones using the Pigeon's abilities.
Will the enemies in the game be only Grimps, or will there be others?
The main opponents are Grimps of different classes: melee, tanks, ranged, and support. Each class has unique behavior that changes the tactics on the arena. Besides them, you will encounter bosses - evolved Grimps with a special appearance and mechanics that will become a real test of the player's skills. No other enemy types are planned.
Will there be progression in the game? What kind exactly?
Yes, there will be progression for both weapons and the character. You will be able to install modifiers that change the weapon's firing type and damage type, as well as switch between these modes right during combat.
What is there to do in the game after the story campaign? Are DLCs planned?
After completing the story, you can return to previous locations to explore undiscovered areas and collect all rewards. Yes, we plan to release DLCs.
Where will the player get new weapons from? Will there be a crafting system?
The player obtains new weapons while exploring locations. There will be no crafting system - instead, we focused on modifying, upgrading, and customizing the existing arsenal. Each weapon type offers unique gameplay, so getting a new gun is always a fresh and fun experience.
How many abilities will the pigeon have?
The Pigeon will have three unique abilities, each affecting battles and world exploration differently. The abilities are unlocked gradually after defeating and absorbing bosses.

For example, the first ability, "Tank", helps control enemies on arenas by drawing damage to itself, and in exploration, it allows breaking walls made of plush matter.

Later, a cold element ability will appear, which stuns enemies and creates cover in combat, and during exploration allows building platforms to access secret areas on the map.
Will Grimps only be aggressive? Will there be a friendly critter in the game?
There are both evil and kind Grimps. But it's better not to tease even the cute ones - they might bite!

Plush Apocalypse

Plushy greetings!

We're starting a series of dev diaries in anticipation of the new playtest. In each post, we'll reveal more and more details about the world of GRIMPS.
Evil in a cube
The Grimps that have overrun Earth are easy to spot - tiny plush cubes won't get lost in a crowd. Even so, each of these evil plushies differs from the others in many small details.

Each critter has a different fabric color, patches, and buttons. Moreover, they find accessories for themselves. They put cones, trash bags, and any other garbage they can find on their heads.

This simple yet extensive enemy generation system allows each little monster to be unique and unlike the others, without overloading the game. See for yourself:
In any size
The threat of the plush cube invasion should not be underestimated, as the horde is led by enormous Grimps.

Boss fights are a very important part of GRIMPS. Besides fending off the knitted threat, the player will also be able to absorb the abilities of defeated bosses.
It doesn't break, it tears
[p]Simulating fabric in games is hard. Simulating enemies made of fabric is even harder. But we tried. Our Grimps are bouncing cubes of plush, and they react to the world in a very lively way: they bounce off the floor, tear from hits, and get knocked back from damage received.
