[dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]Gunslingers, [/p][p][/p][p]We’re proud to bring you an updated demo of Tombwater. If you’ve played before, we invite you to give the new and improved version a try, as there’s some meat to these changes![/p][p][/p][p]Demo updates:[/p]
  • [p]New Feature: β€œStagger” mechanics[/p]
    • [p]Weapons now deal a variable amount of β€œstagger” points in addition to their other listed effects. Once sufficient β€œstagger” points have been accumulated onto an enemy, they will enter a β€œstaggered” status effect and become temporarily stunned.[/p]
  • [p]New Loadout: The demo now has several additions to the equipment shop, allowing players who have previously experienced the demo to try out a few new charms and spells before launch:[/p]
    • [p]Threads of Fate spell (must purchase Visceral Eye)[/p]
    • [p]Ghost Caravan Wheel Spell (must purchase Caravan Eye)[/p]
    • [p]Quicksilver Spur charm[/p]
    • [p]Spiderwounds charm[/p]
  • [p]Feature Adjustment: β€œGhost Seeds” (the item which allows you to recall your Wraith from the last death location) can now be utilized anywhere, instead of only at specific locations.Β [/p]
  • [p]New Camera Option: β€œLook Ahead” toggle in the options menu allows the camera to move somewhat ahead of the character if you press against a wall.[/p]
  • [p]New Difficulty Option: β€œCorpse Run” mechanic can be turned off in the options menu, if a player desires a less challenging experience without worrying about loss of resources during a runback.[/p]
  • [p]Game Balance: Widespread balancing pass across all weapons and spells[/p]
  • [p]Over 150 bug fixes[/p]
  • [p]UI Improvements[/p]
  • [p]Performance Improvements[/p]
[p][/p][p]Tombwater will be participating in February’s Next Fest starting on Feb. 23. We really appreciate your support of the demo! If you like the experience, please leave us a review and wishlist the game. It really helps a lone cowboy out. Meet Tombwater’s Player Archetypes

[p]Howdy, Partner. So, you’ve come to know about Tombwater, our decaying frontier…how’s about we take a tour of the playable classes?Β [/p][p][/p][p]First things first, each class offers distinct stats, equipment, and tactical advantages, shaping everything from combat damage to how players manage health, resources, and risk. The various classes are designed to support a wide range of approaches and give ample opportunity for multiple playthroughs. However, you’re going to get your butt whipped either way.[/p][p][/p][p]Player Archetypes:[/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p]
  • [p]Soldier: Built for durability, the Soldier begins with the highest Strength and Life stats, alongside solid Gunslinging ability. Armed with the Dragoon Saber β€” a unique melee weapon β€” this class excels in close-quarters combat and rewards aggressive, front-line play.

    [/p]
  • [p]Gunslinger: Designed for precision and firepower, this class starts with the highest Gunslinging stat and a high-damage revolver with the fastest fire rate available. The Gunslinger favors quick and efficient takedowns before the Eldritch horrors can close in.

    [/p]
  • [p]Occultist: Masters of knowledge, Occultists begin with high Lucidity and Mind. They are resilient against madness while being able to use powerful spellcasting, and start with a Rune Knife that reduces inflicted madness when enemies are hit with it.

    [/p]
  • [p]Tinkerer: Focused on preparation and adaptability, the Tinkerer boasts high Alchemy and begins with multiple consumables in tow. This class rewards players who thrive on crafting and clever use of resources in high-pressure encounters.

    [/p]
  • [p]Spellblade: Blending steel and sorcery, the Spellblade starts with strong Strength, Lucidity, and Mind stats. This hybrid archetype delivers classic RPG action, balancing melee combat and utility spells for a flexible and dramatic play. Bonus that it starts with a move called β€œGrave Fingers.”

    [/p]
  • [p]Drifter: A jack-of-all-trades class with balanced stats across the board. As the game unfolds, Drifter’s Saber will reward players for their adaptability to the character, including an elusive quickstep slash dash mechanic, which becomes lethal if used correctly.

    [/p]
  • [p]Nameless: For the truly hardcore, the Nameless begin with weak equipment and minimal skill points, offering no safety net. Designed for souls-like veterans seeking a test of skill and perseverance…good luck with that Rusty Saber.[/p]
[p]
Now that you’re better acquainted with the player classes, which will you select on your adventure? Only time will tell…[/p][p]
We’re working towards our launch which we will update you soon on! In the meantime, join the Tombwater Discord, and follow us on Twitter and TikTok for future news. Please also don’t forget to wishlist the game, it really helps a lone cowboy out.Β [/p][p]

Wild West soulslike Tombwater unveils full class lineup, from a Red Dead Redemption-style gunslinger to a hex-casting occultist

Well, you'd get something not too dissimilar to Tombwater. We've had our eye on this intriguing and surprisingly deep Western game for a while, and while there's sadly no news to share on a firm release date just yet, solo developer Moth Atlas has got me salivating all over again by revealing all seven of its starting classes.
