Nightmare Frontier News

Nightmare Frontier is OUT NOW! 🎉

There comes a day in every parent's life when the little bird leaves the nest... sigh... no time for sentiment! Nightmare Frontier is entering Early Access, which means even more work lies ahead of us than ever before! 🤠💼

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Maybe comparing it to a child leaving home wasn’t the best choice after all… 😅

Alright, now on a more serious note - up until now, your feedback on the demo (here on Steam and on our Discord) has been absolutely invaluable, and we’ve expressed our gratitude many times already. But now… things are getting real! As we’ve mentioned before, our goal has always been to make Nightmare Frontier a True Early Access experience = one that grows and evolves hand-in-hand with our community. To achieve that, we’ll need your feedback more than ever! On every aspect of the game. Your experiences, insights, and suggestions will shape the path forward. To support this, we’re launching a brand new Early Access Feedback thread on Steam - but don’t forget, you can also share your thoughts and suggestions with us over on Discord!

https://store.steampowered.com/app/3310950/Nightmare_Frontier/Looks like this little one won’t be leaving the nest anytime soon and maybe that’s for the best, because we’d miss it way too much! ːsteammockingː

Getting down to specifics, here’s what the plan looks like for the upcoming months: ⤵️

We’re a indie studio and as a small indie studio releasing our very first title on our own, we’d truly appreciate any help in spreading the word about our launch on social media. You’ll find links to all our platforms right here. Every share means the world to us!

Huge thanks in advance for every like and share! Have fun, let us know how your playthrough is going and in the meantime, we’re heading back to our dev cave to keep building and improving Nightmare Frontier for you all. ⚙️

Talk to you soon!

Final Countdown! ⏰

Hey,

Since the Early Access launch of Nightmare Frontier is happening tomorrow, we want to take advantage of the calm before the storm and... First of all, we want to extend a massive thank you to everyone who’s been with us on this journey! It’s only thanks to your dedication and most importantly, the invaluable feedback you’ve shared here on Steam and on our Discord - that we’ve been able to release not one, not two, but three demo patches in such a short time!

We already have a few serious contenders for the win! 😎

On this day, we also want to thank all the influencers who have already published content related to our game, as well as those who’ve been holding off until the Early Access launch! Good news, dear stars! 🌟 Just before launch, we managed to kick off a campaign on Keymailer, where you can now request keys for Nightmare Frontier... ⤵️

Size doesn't matter! It’s the heart that counts... 🤭

Since we plan for Nightmare Frontier to be a "true" Early Access title = developed side by side with you, our community - we know the real wild ride is only just beginning... But thanks to your support, we believe we can make it happen! 🙏 There’s still a lot that needs improvement and we’re well aware of that. Localization, for example, still needs work (BTW. you can leave feedback here or on Discord 😅), but with a community like this, nothing is impossible!

https://store.steampowered.com/app/3310950/Nightmare_Frontier/ Thank you again for your patience and for being here with us, see you tomorrow at launch hour! ⏰📯

DEMO: Patch Notes [0.4.4]

[p]Hey everyone! 👋[/p][p]Just a quick update from the Nightmare Frontier team here at Ice Code Games! 🔧🎮[/p] [p]We’ve just pushed a fresh patch to the free Demo, and yes, it fixes the “Oops, all boots!” loot situation. You’ll still want to hang on to your gear, but you will finally get some variety... 🥾😉[/p]

[p]
Here’s what’s new in this update:
• Improved reward distribution (no more bootpocalypse).
  • You can now reach beyond node 92. Go get node 93 and beyond!
  • Balance tweaks across the board.
  • Loads of fixes - technical, visual, and otherwise. Big thanks to everyone who reported bugs and dropped feedback!
  • Quality-of-life polish: tutorial and pop-up behavior should feel much smoother now.
[p]

Localization notice:
• Localization fixes! ːsteamthisː We're continually improving the localizations for all languages but it's still a work in progress. Thank you for your patience, we'll keep at it... Remember to report any localization issues either in this thread or through our official Discord!

[p]Psssst... If you’ve already tried the demo, we’d love for you to give it another spin and let us know how it feels. If you haven’t - now’s a great time to jump in ➔ NIGHTMARE FRONTIER ON STEAM![/p][p]Thanks again for all the support! Keep the feedback coming and happy hunting out there! 💀🧭[/p]

PS: DON’T FORGET ABOUT THE ONGOING COMMUNITY CONTEST #1 🏆! ⤵️

Community Contest #1 🏆

[p]Hey!

We hope you’ve had a chance to get familiar with Nightmare Frontier, because we’ve prepared a contest. To win, you’ll need both determination and experience but don’t worry - you’ll have the time to gain it!

PRIZES:[/p][p]As you’ve probably already noticed, the core gameplay in Nightmare Frontier revolves around participating in raids. In the full version of the game, there will be five districts available. When starting an extraction, the player must choose one of them (in the demo, only one district - "The Slums" is available). After choosing a district, a path made up of nodes will appear. Completing one node allows you to choose the next destination, and so on... ⤵️

During a raid, you’ll fight enemies, collect loot, and receive buffs. All based on the decisions you make by choosing specific nodes. Depending on your combat performance and the choices you make, a raid can end in one of three ways:
[/p]
  • [p] Victory(you’ve reached "Safe Passage" & extracted)
    [/p]
  • [p] Defeat(all your characters in raid have died)
    [/p]
  • [p] Abandonment(you’ve left the raid)
    [/p]
[p]To keep things challenging, only raids that end in victory will count for this contest... ⤵️

Before we jump into the contest rules, make sure you’re able to take in-game screenshots directly through Steam. On the left, you can see where to find the keyboard shortcut for taking screenshots (Steam>Settings>In Game>"Take a screenshot"), and on the right, where to locate your saved screenshots within the Steam app (Steam>View>"Recordings & Screenshots")... ⤵️

Next & Last, to take part in the contest, you’ll also need to know how to share screenshots on the Steam Community Hub. Select the screenshot you want to share, click “Share on Steam”, then add an appropriate description (for example: Nightmare Frontier, Community Contest #1) and hit "Upload". Don’t forget to set Visibility to "Public"... ⤵️

You’ve probably already guessed what the contest is about. ːsteamhappyː[/p]

🏆 The Longest Victorious Raid Contest 🏆
[p]
[/p]
IMPORTANT:
[p]As the name suggests, the winner will be the one who ventures the deepest into a location and, most importantly - survives! Remember: the paths are randomized, so don’t give up too soon. You never know if your next run might just be the one that takes you the farthest! Next, take a screenshot of the run summary screen, that’s where we can see how far you made it. We’ll be looking at the score on the left side (not the "Longest Raid"!), so make sure to take screenshots right after each run... ⤵️

[/p]
HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

Simply post a link to your Steam screenshot on Steam Thread!
[p](only screenshots uploaded on Steam & linked in this thread will be considered)

You have time until Monday, June 16, 2025 (10 a.m. CEST) - that’s when we’ll pick the winners, so they can enjoy their Nightmare Frontier (EA) keys from the very first second of the launch!

In the meantime, we encourage you to join our Discord and keep us posted on your grinding progress...

Good luck! 🍀
