Hello Heavy Metal Machines Community,

It’s been a while since you all have heard any information on the game, and we wanted to share an update on what’s been happening. Many you may not be aware that Forthright Entertainment acquired Heavy Metal Machines last year. In January, we secured a significant investment, with a large portion dedicated to relaunching Heavy Metal Machines. This deal took over 14 months to finalize.
Unfortunately, at the end of March, the investing group failed to deliver their first promised payment, and by May, they missed the next one. The CEO, with whom we worked closely over the past year to put this deal together, was terminated by the board, and the group has since refused to fulfill their payment obligations.
While I can't go into all the legal details, please know that we still have a deep passion for Heavy Metal Machines and firmly believe in its community and potential. I understand this may not be the news you were hoping for, and believe me, we are just as frustrated by this situation.
That being said, we are actively seeking additional investment and have begun gaining traction. Once we received clearance from our legal team, we wanted to provide this update because you all deserve transparency.
The game is not dead—we remain fully committed to it, and we will keep you informed as soon as we have positive news to share.


That being said, we understand that many of you miss the game, like we do, and we wanted to offer you all something for your patience. If you have Heavy Metal Machines in your Steam library, we are offering you all an amazing free package in another Free-to-play title that we publish, Maelstrom, a naval royale and co-op game.
For all HMM players, the first time you play Maelstrom, you will receive the current Season Pass (that runs till the end of the year, 2,000,000 In game gold, and 1000 Gunpowder, a $35.00 value, as a token of appreciation. Every Tuesday from 7pm EST - Till Midnight, is community game night, a great time to hop in and learn.

Dear Metal Gladiators,

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the ending of Heavy Metal Machine’s life cycle.

HMM’s dedicated servers will be shutting down on the 30th of August, 2022. This means the game and all its related features will no longer be available, including all game modes, and the in-game Store. This applies to all platforms, including Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation.

Here's a timeline of the planned server shutdown

• 30th of May, 2022: Virtual currency (Cash) packages removed from Heavy Metal Machines and will no longer be available for purchase. All other game features will be available normally, including the in-game Store where players will be able to spend their Virtual Currency (Cash).
  
• 30th of August, 2022: Dedicated servers shut down, Heavy Metal Machines no longer available, in-game Store no longer available.
  

What will happen with the current Ranked Season and my rewards?

• We will send out the Ranked rewards one level above your current level within the upcoming days. This means if you are currently Bronze, you will be able to claim the Silver rewards for example.
  
• You will have the choice of any Ranked prize from any previous Season. This will give you the opportunity to enjoy the rewards in-game until the servers are shut down.
  
• To choose and claim your Ranked rewards click on the following link: https://forms.gle/zSNa1sW94KtJnHRQ9
• Players who do not choose and claim their Ranked rewards until the 30th of May, 2022 will automatically receive last Season’s rewards (Dirt Devil).
  
• Ranked Season will continue until the 30th of August, 2022 - but no additional prizes will be sent out.
  

Can I still play Heavy Metal Machines after the 30th of August, 2022?

• No, since HMM is a game running 100% online, HMM will not be available to play after the dedicated servers shut down.
  

What will happen to the content I paid for?

• If you are currently in possession of in-game currency (Cash), make sure to spend it until the 30th of August, 2022, as the Store will not be accessible anymore after that date.
  

What about my in-game Items?

• Unfortunately, you will not be able to access these items after 30th of August, 2022, since the game won’t be available.
  

What will happen to the Discord Server?

• After 30th of August, 2022, our Discord Server will stay open, in order to give you a space to meet up and communicate with each other in the future. All channels, except #global-off-topic, will be removed and there will be no more moderation from our team.
  
• Until 30th of August, 2022, our Discord Server will be available normally.
  

What will happen with the weekly live streams?

• We will have our last HMM live stream (hosted by Batata) next Thursday, May 5th, in order for him to be able to attend to other internal projects.

Discontinuing HMM was a difficult decision. The Hoplon team has put a lot of work and passion into HMM, and we are very proud of what the game has become and the community we have nurtured. We feel we have accomplished our vision of bringing a really unique experience within the MOBA genre.

We would like to extend a big THANK YOU to all the Metal Gladiators that have been a part of the HMM family over the years. We truly appreciate all the love we have seen for this game. May HMM live on in our hearts and minds!

The year 2021 is slowly coming to an end and we would like to take the opportunity to thank you all for the continued support and dedication you show to HMM!

We would also like to inform you that the current Metal Pass Season will be extended indefinitely, and we will make all Models, Emotes, Effects, and Sprays (except some event or exclusive items) from the previous Seasons available in the Store, starting on the 12th of January 2022. This will allow you to get the items you always wanted, and some of them will be available for Fame.

In addition, we will reduce the price for Cash packages from January 12th 2022 to February 12th 2022 by 30% giving you more bang for your buck.

Furthermore, we will give players 500% more Fame for Casual Matches to make sure the game remains free-to-play and it allows you to unlock Machines as you progress.
