Scheduled Maintenance and Patch Notes 08/10/2020

Hello, Metal Gladiators

Maintenance is scheduled for October 8th, from 12:00 to 16:00 (UTC+1), to apply an update that brings the brand new Draft mode, a new Machine selection screen and some bug fixes.

Version: 10.00.128

New Machine Selection Screen

The Machine selection screen has been updated to a new layout, which applies to all game modes. It will automatically adapt when the Ranked Draft mode is enabled (for competitive modes or Custom Matches).

Additional changes have been included along with the new visual:
  • The Machine selection time has been reduced to 60 seconds.
  • The pre-selected Model for the chosen Machine will be the same model used in the last match.

New Feature: Draft Mode

The Draft mode is a different way to perform the machine pick process, with new options, such as banning some Machines and an ordered pick sequence. This new feature is focused on competitive modes, allowing players to create new strategies that begin even before the matches.
Technical features
• The Draft mode is always enabled for the competitive modes: Ranked and Colosseum.
  • The pick order (for the starting Team) is randomly selected by the system.
  • Every phase of the Draft process has a 60 seconds limit.
  • If one player does not select a Machine within the time limit, a random available Machine will be picked.
  • The Draft starts with both Teams banning one Machine each, and all players vote simultaneously.
  • After the Ban phase, the following sequence starts:
    • Phase 1: Player 1 from Team 1
    • Phase 2: Player 1 from Team 2; Player 2 from Team 2;
    • Phase 3: Player 2 from Team 1; Player 3 from Team 1;
    • Phase 4: Player 3 from Team 2;
    • Phase 5: Player 4 from Team 1;
    • Phase 6: Player 4 from Team 2.
  • The competitive modes (Ranked Mode and Colosseum) will have a dedicated rotation with ten Machines, the minimum number of Machines for the Draft process.

Custom Match

The Draft mode has been added as an option for Custom Matches. Players may choose from Casual Draft and Ranked Draft.
  • Casual draft is the current pick process, where players can choose machines without restrictions.
  • Ranked draft is the new pick process, where players need to ban and pick machines, as explained in the previous topic.
An account must own at least ten Machines to join a custom match with Ranked Draft mode enabled.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a bug where a light orb was appearing at the center of the Arena in some matches.
  • Fixed a bug in which Photon and Black Lotus could not launch the Bomb when using Weapon 3.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the selected model not to appear in the match in some situations.
  • Fixed a bug where the short profile displayed the less played Machines instead of the most played Machines.

Known Issues
  • In certain cases, when a player reconnects to the game during the Draft, the "disconnected" icon may persist, causing a visual bug.
  • The theme music isn't playing during the match loading screen.

General
  • The Arena carrousel has been removed from Ranked Mode matches.

Gamepad
  • The Help menu has been removed from shortcuts, and it’s now available under the Options menu during a match. This change will prevent confusion with the movement and weapons commands, which are a priority for matches.

Metal League X is coming with a new look: Understand what has changed.

Hello Metal Gladiators!

Metal League X is coming soon, completely renovated!

The Metal League is the Official Tournament of the highest competitive level of Heavy Metal Machines. Starting this season, with a cash prize pool, it will take place outside the game, twice a year, alternating between the South American and European servers. This edition will be on the South American server.

πŸ‘‰ The Metal League is an official HMM Tournament
πŸ‘‰ The tournament is semiannual and online. Participate from anywhere! – New!
πŸ‘‰ Total prize money of 2,500 Euros
πŸ‘‰ 8 teams form the Elite of the championship – New!
πŸ‘‰ Cash prizes for ALL Elite Teams – New!
πŸ‘‰ Free registration
πŸ‘‰ Players of any level can participate
πŸ‘‰ The event is 100% broadcasted, with wide announcement of the matches – New!
πŸ‘‰ Teams with up to 6 members – New!

How will it work?

Starting this Season, the Metal League will take place every six months. The top eight Teams on the server will play Bo2 clashes in the all-against-all format to generate a leaderboard. The top four Teams move on to the Playoffs and fight it out for the Grand Champion of the Season title.

The bottom two Teams in this ranking need to compete in a Promotion / Relegation Tournament with the other ranked Teams (coming from parallel qualifying championships, which take place during the off-season).

For this reason, whenever there is a Metal League Season, we will also have qualifying championships for the other Teams that wish to participate in the competition next semester.

METAL LEAGUE X – SOUTH AMERICA

Metal League Seasons will alternate between servers from now on. Therefore, we will start this next Tournament on the South American server, and the European edition will be for next year, while it is off-season in SA.

The Metal League will be formed by an elite of 8 Teams. For this first Tournament (South America), we will define the eight classified as follows:
2 vacancies – SPL 2020.1 Finalists
6 places – Best placed in the qualifying Tournament

All teams can participate in the qualifying Tournament, regardless of game level or Team experience. And the Team’s squad can count on up to 6 players.

Metal League X Final Date: 12/12/2020 - UPDATED

Competitors participating in the Qualifying Tournament must register via Battlefy and enter the official Discord server for the Tournament.

After we have defined the 8 participating teams, we will have an exclusive environment with them to organize the matches.

And how about Tournaments in the game?

If you haven’t seen it yet, we just announced the launch of the Colosseum, a new in-game Tournament format, to replace the old Metal League in-game. It will be a Tournament every Sunday, with Beginner and Veteran divisions, with game items as prizes, and will take place simultaneously on the two servers: Europe and South America. It is worth checking out, click here to learn more.
