Playtest #1 Survey Results

[/p][p]
A few weeks back, over 150 lucky individuals were given the distinct honor of joining the team as unpaid interns– AKA playtesters! This opportunity grants players the privilege and opportunity to contribute to development, free from the burdens of taxes (and compensation).
[/p][p]Upon completion of the Ledgerbound demo, these bright and eager recruits demonstrated their love for bureaucracy by completing our very comprehensive survey. We’ve pored over the records and could bind the sentiments into an 80-page book! Your efforts have been duly noted and a company voucher will be delivered by your manager in your next yearly review.[/p][p]
Transparency is a core pillar for us at OmniMegaSuperCorp as a studio, throughout the development process, and for our capitalistic overlords Shareholders. Let’s dive into our playtest report, see what you thought of the demo, and learn how we’re moving forward with Ledgerbound’s development. Think of this blog as a performance review penned by you, the players! [/p][p]
Your responses to the playtest are invaluable, and we can’t wait for future tests. Thank you for your time and enthusiasm! These results highlight what the Shareholders like to call the 3 Cs of Ledgerbound: Comedy, Coworkers, and Combat.

We think Ledgerbound is hilarious; if you aren’t laughing, maybe we need to take a step back and reassess our career choices. Luckily for us, all of you consistently loved the comedic narrative in the demo and found our characters charming and vibrant.

Several of you mentioned that you were sad when the demo ended and your unpaid internship was terminated. Such commitment truly warms our Shareholders’ hearts. Keep an eye out for future opportunities to play that may or may not be coming soon… Like, sooner than you think at an event known as \[REDACTED]. But we’ve already said too much, so we’re moving on!

[/p][p]Walking hand-in-hand with the narrative, you found our companions memorable, even going so far as to say it felt like you were in a Dungeons & Dragons party. We’ve put a lot of care into how characters build on one another and add to the overall player experience, so there’s plenty more where that came from. The companions you met in the demo are just a sampling of a huge array of friends, foes, and lovers you’ll meet as you progress through Ledgerbound.[/p][p][/p][p]Love was in the air at camp! Narcissus has nothing on y’all: this tester cohort was full of self-love because Rayna was one of two top romance interests?! Tied for first place and gunning to be the head honcho of hearts was your manager Jazz. Sylvie was the third overall pick, even as the last companion you recruit in our demo![/p][p][/p][p]
Please note: the four interns who selected Merp were terminated immediately with retroactive notice. Your collections notice for emotional damage will arrive via crow shortly. [/p][p]It came as a surprise for some players that Ledgerbound will be fully-voiced at launch by amazingly talented actors like \[REDACTED] and \[REDACTED]. Half of our survey respondents noted that they did not skip ahead in the dialogue with characters! Seeing that it made our comedic moments and characters that much funnier is so rewarding, and we can’t wait to tell you more about the cast responsible for bringing Ledgerbound to life in future reports.
[/p][p]
[/p][p]Of our three categories, combat is where we saw the most room for improvement. Our demo largely consisted of earlier battles designed to help players learn the ropes of adventuring… but after getting your feet wet, y’all were rarin’ to dive straight into the deep end! Your eagerness for challenge has been noted.
[/p][p]While players still rated our battle system positively overall and indicated that combat feels approachable, responses highlighted opportunities to enhance equipment management, combat stages, and battle replays.
[/p][p]
[/p][p]
In response, our developers have implemented adjustments to the stats system, balancing numbers to improve both combat feel and equipment functionality. We’ll be further overhauling our time mechanics once we finish implementing our new, upcoming self-care feature.[/p][p]
And that’s all for now, Employees! Please continue to encourage your friends and family to wishlist Ledgerbound on Steam. Core Value #6: Constant Engagement!
