Arkheron Experimental 0.18.0.1 Patch Notes

[p]We’re readying to ship the first iteration of our 0.18 patch, in preparation for Friday Night Fights this weekend - this build will be playable on our Experimental Client (get access to this here). [/p][p][/p][p]Unlike a normal core patch (what you’ve seen from us with 0.17 and 0.16) we’ll be rolling out smaller, much more frequent updates to our Experimental client through the upcoming weeks as we work through the entirety of content planned for the 0.18 patch.[/p][p][/p][p]Play this patch on our Experimental client by jumping into a custom game, or join us on Friday night when queues will be open (check out times for your region here!)

[p]LIMITED TIME TEST - DUOS MODE[/p]
  • [p]Updated the primary game mode to teams of two, instead of three for a limited time test.

[p]Earlier this week, we polled our community on Discord to see which modified game mode y’all were interested in trying, and the results were fairly unanimous! This week’s Friday Night Fights will feature a test game mode - Duos. This will replace the primary queue for Arkheron this week. 
[/p][p]Expect a bit of jank - the game has been made for teams of three, so UI and balance may be a little wonky. Give it a shot, and let us know what you think in Discord! [/p][p][/p][p]CUSTOM GAMES[/p]
  • [p]A number of custom game settings have been added.[/p]
    • [p]NUMBER OF TEAMS [/p]
      • [p]Allows a host to set the number of teams present in a custom lobby, between 2-15 teams.  [/p]
    • [p]TEAM SIZE [/p]
      • [p]Allows the host to set the number of players per team, from 1-3 players.[/p]
    • [p]ASSIGNMENT PERMISSIONS [/p]
      • [p]"Everyone" allows all lobby members to assign themselves to teams or to the spectator list.[/p]
      • [p]"Leader Only" allows only the lobby’s “leader” to assign lobby members to teams or to the spectator list.[/p]
    • [p]STARTING FLOOR [/p]
      • [p]Allows the host to select which Floor of the Tower the Ascension Mode will begin on, from Floors 1-3.[/p]
[p]\[NEW] COLOR BLIND OPTIONS[/p]
  • [p]Added Color Blind Settings that allow players to choose between three options (Protanopia / Deuteranopia / Tritanopia), adjust the intensity of the filter, and choose if it affects UI only or everything in game.

[p]ETERNAL ITEMS[/p][p]DAHLA[/p]
  • [p]Updated Dahla’s VFX to improve combat readability and ensure her ability effects more accurately represent their gameplay impact.[/p]
  • [p]Dahla’s Petal Dance Amulet color palette aligns with standard healing indicators. The AoE visual has been narrowed to more precisely match the ability’s actual radius.[/p]
  • [p]Dahla’s Vanish Crown color scheme has been updated to match her kit. Added visual polish to the start and end of the effect.[/p]
  • [p]Dahla’s Dancing Blade - Slashing Variation - swipe visuals have been adjusted to more accurately reflect the gameplay hitboxes.[/p]
  • [p]Dahla’s Eternal Ability, Curtain Call, received a visual overhaul to improve overall art quality and provide better gameplay clarity during the ability.[/p][p][/p]
[p]EDANI[/p]
  • [p]Edani’s Lunging Hook - Thin-Skinned Thrash’s damage has been increased to 12/14 (up from 10/12).[/p]
[p][/p][p]GRIMWOLD[/p]
  • [p]Grimwold’s Charged Rings - Chain Reaction damage per shot has been reduced to 10 (down from 15).[/p]
  • [p]Grimwold’s Charged Rings - Chain Reaction no longer applies a slow effect.

[p]LEODIN[/p]
  • [p]Leodin’s Glint Spear - Divine Thrust no longer has a "sticky" melee movement, preventing unintended missed melee hits.[/p]
  • [p]Leodin’s Glint Spear - Divine Thrust charge animation duration has been reduced by 3 frames.[/p]
  • [p]Leodin’s Glint Spear - Divine Thrust hitbox has been adjusted for sizing and placement, resulting in better accuracy.[/p][p][/p]
[p]IRENNA[/p]
  • [p]Irenna’s Eternal Ability, Spiral Strike’s damage and lifesteal has been increased to 30/30 (up from 25/25).[/p]
  • [p]Irenna’s Sword “Caretaker” - Krurian Handshake’s travel distance has been increased to 10m (up from 8m).

[p]KARRIV[/p]
  • [p]Karriv’s Flaming Lantern - Strike the Anvil - all hits now cover an AoE circle in front of the wielder.[/p]
  • [p]Karriv’s Searing Shovel - Shovel Swing’s third hit is now purely AoE damage, as opposed to a combination of on-hit + AoE damage.

[p]PENELOPE[/p]
  • [p]Penelope’s Porcelain Parasol - Sharp Burst’s maximum melee range increased to 4m (from 3.5m). [/p][p][/p]
[p]ECHO ITEMS[/p]
  • [p]Scimitar’s Whirling Slash moves 8m (from 7m).[/p]
  • [p]Scimitar’s Whirling Slash damage is now applied in an AoE centered on the wielder, not the weapon. VFX have been updated for clarity.
    [/p]
[p]GAMEPLAY MISC[/p]
  • [p]Updated various projectile hitboxes such as Karriv’s Shovel Swing, Echo Bow’s Wave Shot, and Penelope’s Eternal Ability, “Look How I Shine” to only register damage in areas in front of the wielder.[/p]
  • [p]We’ve made a few changes to the Empowered mechanic. [/p]
    • [p]Healing no longer counts towards the Empowered state unless the healing comes from an ability (so consumables, Rejuvenate, and Full Heal no longer contribute to Empowered).[/p]
    • [p]The Empowered state’s decay per second is increased to 12/s (from 10/s).[/p]
    • [p]Killing blows contribute a 1.5x progress multiplier to the Empowered state (decreased from a 3x multiplier).[/p]
  • [p]Some Eternal Abilities were not correctly getting damage increases from the Empowered buff. This has now been fixed. This applies to the following Eternals’ Abilities: Irenna, Leodin, Dahla, Grimwold.[/p]
  • [p]Up to 5 status effects now visible on player characters.[/p]
  • [p]Dodge has been updated to move farther - now 4m (from 3.5m).[/p]
  • [p]Challenge Rift reward chests are Legendary (reverted from Mythic).[/p]
  • [p]Low HP Threshold raised to 100 (from 75). This will impact any passives (like Tsu’bo set bonus) that proc at Low HP. 
    [/p]
[p]We’re monitoring and have been making adjustments to Low HP passives over time, trying to find the sweet spot that is viable, but not over-tuned.
[/p][p]LEVEL DESIGN[/p]
  • [p]The cost to open passageways in Prison (Floor 1) decreased to 750 fragments (from 1000).[/p]
  • [p]Portals to Tunnels (Floor 1) and other loot are visible icons on the map again.[/p]
  • [p]Lifts (Floor 2) cost decreased to 500 fragments (from 600).[/p]
[p][/p][p]MONSTERS[/p]
  • [p]Destroyers on Floor 3 have a maximum spawn count of 3 (down from 4).[/p]
  • [p]Less Tormentors spawn on Floor 3.

[p]UI / HUD[/p]
  • [p]Status Effects & Damage Over Time now displays a radial timer showing their duration (replacing the previous silence-only timer). Through this change, Banished, Weakened, and Vulnerable have been updated to status effects. Note that this change does not show when in an Area of Effect (like Irenna’s North Wind Amulet).[/p]
    • [p]Statuses noted in this way: Stunned, Rooted, Slowed, Blinded, Silenced, Bound, Exhausted, Tethered, Banished, Weakened, Vulnerable, Damage over Time.

[p]PERFORMANCE[/p]
  • [p]The team has been chipping away at some of our CPU usage to improve performance. There are lots of small incremental improvements included here - expect a bigger update down the line when larger changes land.

[p]BUG FIXES[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where custom color selections were not displaying correctly in-game. [/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where Dalha’s pull actual distance and noted displayed distance were different. [/p]
  • [p]Custom color settings will now correctly save after closing the game.[/p]
  • [p]Resolved a loading issue when leaving a match during the initial drop sequence.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where the voice chat icon would sometimes not appear while speaking. [/p]
  • [p]Improved consistency in hit registration for Dahla's Throwing Knives. [/p]
  • [p]Fixed a UI bug where "TypeName" appeared instead of player names in voice chat. [/p]
  • [p]Spectators will now properly see the Victory screen when their team wins.[/p]
  • [p]Corrected the interaction labels for Gateway portals.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed inconsistent damage numbers in the descriptions for Leodin's Eclipse Hammer.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where intermittently dead teammates were not properly revived or resurrected upon ascending.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed flickering visual issues in specific areas of Floor 3.[/p]
  • [p]The Ravah Crossbow charge indicator now accurately shows when your primary attack is ready.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a minor UI bug where the countdown timer briefly displayed "0:60." [/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where Rynshi's Fury Bracers would cancel itself if activated too quickly.[/p]
  • [p]Improved an instance of collision to allow projectiles to pass over certain low obstacles correctly.[/p]
  • [p]Closing the Social Panel will now correctly hide the Friend Profile UI.[/p]
  • [p]Improved flow when attempting to join a lobby that no longer exists.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where the Teammate Info screen was sometimes missing when loading in.[/p]
  • [p]Adjusted the Scimitar's secondary attack (RMB) hitbox for better consistency.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug causing players to see extraneous damage numbers when enemy health bars appeared.[/p]
  • [p]Corrected specific instances of display issues with incoming healing numbers.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed missing sound effects for several abilities when hitting targets with existing status effects.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where fortitude's damage reduction UI showed when no damage reduction is applied.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where "Team Eliminated" audio would play incorrectly while spectating. [/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug where the first hit after Leodin’s Eclipse Hammer combo would fail to register.[/p]
  • [p]Tsu'Bo's Boom Chakas now correctly stuns dashing players who are Bound.[/p]
  • [p]Corrected missing visual effects for Crowns while under the effect of Ravah’s Shadowsmoke Crown stealth.[/p]
  • [p]Adjusted the hit points for the Level 3 Tsu’bo Crown to their intended values.[/p]
  • [p]Tutorial voice-overs will no longer repeat if a player moves in and out of the trigger zone.[/p]
  • [p]Swapped the mechanic labels for the Penelope Amulet and Crown to the correct items.[/p]
  • [p]Improved bot AI so they no longer attempt to pick up items they cannot use.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed visual artifacting occurring with DLSS enabled while standing still.[/p]
  • [p]Resolved an issue where portals would sometimes remain locked after being used by enemy bots.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where the 'Rejuvenate' option would sometimes be missing from Summon Shrines.[/p]
  • [p]The description for Healing Ward is now correctly visible in the F1 menu.[/p]
