In true KuloNiku spirit, this is another family-run business - temporarily closed for a sky-diving tour - full of many wondrous things.[/p][p] [/p][p]Right next door to your restaurant, Ume will first introduce herself as a patron of Bakuso after you compete in your first Meatball Brawl, drawn in by the delightful aromas you’ve been cooking up. [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]She’s timid, a bit shy, and quite nervous around new people. From her reactions, you’ll notice she struggles to make eye contact and is constantly stumbling over her words, but she cares deeply about the community and is extremely passionate about selling you the finest wares. She even keeps a diary, though isn’t planning to share that anytime soon.[/p][p][/p][p]Just like with every other relationship in the game, you can keep connecting with Ume, building trust, and maybe even get to Hangout with her. [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Ume’s Shop has everything from tools to home decor. She even has a welcome gift for you- a high-quality kitchen knife to do the finest form of chopping. How generous![/p][p][/p][p]The shop’s inventory is refreshed every Friday and it gives you a chance to spend the money you earn in tips for quality service. [/p][p]
[/p][p][/p][p]Tools can be purchased to improve your restaurant, like a Trash Bin that increases food refund value by 15%. You can also buy extra bowls so you don’t run out in the middle of prep and run down the clock at the sink.[/p][p] [/p][p]Home decor items can also be purchased to update and improve the aesthetics and viability of your restaurant. With new materials, you’ll be able to redesign your layout with paintings, new flooring and television sets. [p]Hey Chefs! [/p][p][/p][p]Let’s introduce you to one of KuloNiku’s most unique traditions - Meatball Brawls!
[/p][p]Held two days a week, you’ll go head-to-head with a rival chef - live on NaniTV - in a turn-based, best-of-three-rounds cook-off to see who can prepare the most delicious delicacy[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Rosso, the Meatball Brawls host, does an awesome job of building up hype, but when the clock starts, the pressure’s on to establish the reputation of your restaurant, as every skill you’ve learned will be put to the test. All in front of a live audience![/p][p][/p][p]Before you begin, the judges will make some special requests, indicating how they want the dish to be prepared. They’ll even ask for some bonus ingredients to mix things up so you can score some extra points. [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Each turn gives you three action points to spend and use on cooking mini-games and steps like chopping and adding ingredients and spices to your dish. Once depleted, ring the bell to finish your turn and wait for the next person to finish your dish. Meatball Brawls are a time-sensitive, strategically layered artform, so you’ll need to set yourself up for success and make every action count! [/p][p]
[/p][p]Once the spotlight is on your opponent, you can watch as they try to prepare the same dish. Both judges and audience will respond to their actions - thumbs up or down - and by the end of turn, you can see how well they’ve performed! [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]You can always track your own progress with the judges' panel on the left side of the screen to see how full the heart meter is. Don’t despair if things are looking bleak; a contest can be turned around with one good round, but the same applies to your rival.[/p][p][/p][p]Victory is determined by several factors - the speed and accuracy of your cooking, how well you perform in mini-games, but also how much affinity you’ve built up with the crowd. To really spice things up, the audience can even throw random suggestions and requests at you.[/p][p][/p][p]
[/p][p]It’s up to you whether you want to give them what they want, but just be careful as their requests may go against what the judges are looking for.[/p][p] [/p][p]When both chefs have completed all three turns, it's the end of the brawl. The judge will then present their final grade and lift up scorecards to determine the victor and who gets the spoils. [/p][p]
[/p][p][/p][p]When going head-to-head with the best of the best, you’ll need every extra brownie point you can get, so listen well and do your best.
