Dev diary #5: Release date announced + the new dazzling trailer & screens
[p]So the cat’s out of the bag! We’re releasing Twinkleby on September 23rd, just in time for Tokyo Game Show—and we couldn’t be more excited to share a brand-new trailer showcasing even more of our beloved Twinkleby![/p][p]You might remember the first batch of whimsical characters we introduced during the Future Games Show: the curious gentleman Dr. Damfino, the social butterfly Edith, the lazy dandy Dorian, and the experienced socialite Aunt Gredlyn. If you look closely in our new trailer, you’ll spot yet another of our lovely Neighbours—Adelaide! Like a true indoor cat, Adelaide adores curling up in the comfort of her home. Give her a cup of tea, a blanket, and wait until nightfall (that’s right, daylight is not for Adelaide), and she’ll be happier than a fox on Happy Foxes Eve. On a starlit night, she might even venture outside to gaze at the sky through a telescope on top of Whitslope. Hiding in the new screenshots published here you can also spot Madame Lydia and Middleton III (granddaughter to the late Middleton I). Madame Lydia is a sensitive, creative soul who loves to recharge her energy in nature. Madame would probably never invite Middleton III to join her in the garden as she considers her a lazy, silly little food addict. Which, to be fair, she is. [/p][p]The trailer also highlights the full range of seasonal settings you can choose while playing—spring, summer, autumn, and winter—each with its own unique melody. Together with the backdrops, weather, and shift from day and night, you won’t just be a creator, but a composer, too. [/p][p]Adelaide and her friends are just a handful of the many Neighbours that you will get to know in Twinkleby. We can’t wait to reveal more—but here’s a little hint: there will be a Neighbour named R.K. Orpheum, and yes, he will frown (silently but with great disgust) if you fail to list all of Jane Austen’s works in chronological order.[/p][p]Next week, we’ll be back to chat about the many personalities of Twinkleby, and our journey in developing the Neighbours and their traits. [/p][p]See you then—and in the meantime, sparkle on! ✨[/p][p]Team might and Delight[/p][p]PS. More about the changing soundscape in Twinkleby can be found in our first dev diary here.[/p][p][/p][p]
