We’re beyond excited to bring you native Linux support 🐧 and a new, optional Book Storage 📚! Now, you can keep books organized without displaying them in your Library—just remember, visitors won’t check your Office for books! Plus, we’ve improved how points are awarded in Score Mode and added a Performance Tracker for those aiming to master Survival and Score Modes!

📕MAJOR UPDATES:

  • Linux Version Released: Libritopia now has a native Linux version!
  • New Book Storage: A new shelf in the Office lets you store books without displaying them in the Library. Just keep in mind, visitors won’t check the Office for books!
  • Save System Updated: Saves are now linked to each user’s Steam account. You can log in on another machine and your saves will carry over without mixing up with others on the same device.
  • Score Mode System Updated: Score values now increase based on visitors' remaining patience when receiving help or being assisted at the counters. If you want the highest possible score, speed is key!
  • Tracking for Best Performances in Challenging Modes: A tracker for your best performance in both Survival and Score Modes has been added to the Game Mode screen.


📙 MINOR UPDATES:

  • The book info toggle is now enabled by default. Players can toggle it on or off using the right mouse button when looking at books.
  • The first clients in the counter queue will now start losing patience as expected in applicable game modes.
  • Improved search speed in the Libridex screen on the main menu.


📘 BUG FIXES AND ADJUSTMENTS:

  • Fixed an issue where books would float when removed from a stack at the Book Return Counter.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the library name from appearing correctly on the Save Selection screen.
  • Fixed a text size issue when removing furniture.
  • The Build Screen can no longer be opened while using a computer.
  • Fixed a bug where changing the game language during gameplay didn’t update the Book Checkout screen.
  • Fixed a bug where leaving a match while the Daily Report was open caused a broken save. Now, if players leave during the report, loading that save will return them to just before the day ends.
  • Fixed book positions on the 18-slot shelf—again...
  • Adjusted book rotations inside stacks to be more intuitive.
  • The Office computer screen will now close automatically when finishing the day.
  • Made various minor usability and UI improvements.
  • Fixed missing or unclear translations.
  • Fixed text alignment issues.

You asked, and we listened—Relax Mode has arrived! No more time pressure, no more impatient customers—just pure, stress-free library management at your own pace. Play endlessly, build your library, and enjoy a more relaxed experience. Plus, we’ve made it possible to keep playing your save in Relax Mode after finishing Score Mode or facing a Game Over in Survival Mode! 📖

📕 MAJOR UPDATES:

  • New Mode Added! “Relax Mode” Features the Following:
    • Endless: This new mode has no day limit. You can play and progress for as long as you want.
    • Customers’ Patience: No need to worry about it. Librarians can take their time to complete all activities at their own pace.
    • Book Arrivals: Daily book arrivals will adjust based on player progression in Relax Mode.
    • Book Returns: In Relax Mode, the info boxes in the Book Return minigame will remain stationary.
    • Customers: The number of concurrent customers in the Library will also be adjusted based on player progression in this new mode.
  • Keep Your Library: After a Game Over in Survival Mode or upon finishing Score Mode, your library will be preserved. You can continue playing in Relax Mode by loading your saved game.
  • Furniture Position Preview: While placing furniture in multiplayer, other players will now see a preview of its position.
  • Checkout Screen: You can now manually sort the list by Title, Author, or Genre by clicking the tabs at the top.


📒 MINOR UPDATES:

  • Added an icon for the Book Return counter when the stack of books is nearly full. Also, a system message inside the Book Return Screen now reminds librarians to remove books from the counter when it’s full.
  • Increased the max capacity of Help Zones from 4 to 6.
  • Fixed an issue where customers would lose patience due to their own noise.
  • Adjusted the behavior of the text box in the Checkout Screen to match other text boxes.
  • Added an SFX for both counters when a customer arrives at an empty queue.
  • Added an icon for both counters displaying the max queue size and the current number of clients waiting.
  • Adjusted the text in the Daily Report and Game Over screens to clarify the distinction between "Customers Helped" in the Help Zones and "Checkouts Completed."
  • Reworked the Game Mode screen to improve usability and accommodate the new mode.
  • To make it clearer that the game adjusts its pacing based on the number of players, a message about this has been added to the Game Modes screen.
  • Rebalanced Libridex unlock values for Score Mode.
  • Improved the unlock threshold messaging for all game modes in Libridex.


📘 BUG FIXES AND ADJUSTMENTS:

  • Fixed customer patience and level rewards display and balancing for 5+ players.
  • Fixed a bug in the automatic Book Return Counter where, if it was full, it could get stuck when a customer had multiple books to return.
  • Fixed a save bug that occurred at the beginning of a new day.
  • Fixed a save bug related to storing items while not being the host.
  • Fixed a bug where, while hosting a new room, the join room screen could briefly appear and disappear.
  • Fixed a bug that caused angry customers to throw books only at the Host in multiplayer.
  • Adjusted counter 3D models to ensure they are the same size.
  • Fixed text disappearing at certain window sizes.
  • Adjusted the corner shelf size for a better fit.
  • Fixed arrow flickering when building furniture in multiplayer.
  • Fixed the direction in which books are stored on the 18-slot shelf.
  • Removed the Dissatisfied Customers Info Box flickering after loading a game.
  • Removed the unnecessary “Selected” column from the Book Database Screen in the office computer.
  • Made various minor usability and UI improvements.
  • Fixed missing and unclear translations.
  • Fixed several text alignment issues.

Introducing... The Furniture Removal Update 📚

✨ Calling all librarians! Our library just got some important upgrades! ✨📚

As requested, you can now store unwanted furniture! (As long as the essentials are in place and the Library is closed, to keep things tidy 👀). Plus, placing furniture is easier with improved area visibility, and your progress is saved more frequently! We’ve also added AZERTY keyboard support and new Controller options 🎮 and much more! Please check full update details below. We hope these changes improve your experience as we keep working on the next update! 😊

📕 MAJOR UPDATES:

  • Store Furniture Mechanic: Librarians can now store their furniture—provided the Library has at least one shelf, one Help Zone, one Checkout, and one Return Counter. Important: Furniture can only be stored while the Library is closed, but it can still be built at any time.
  • Furniture Areas: When placing or moving furniture, Librarians will now see the other placing limits.
  • Save Game: The game now also saves when the last customer leaves the library and also after each change made while the library is closed, in addition to the day change.
  • Added support for AZERTY keyboards.
  • Added a setting to invert the controller’s Horizontal and Vertical axis.


📒 MINOR UPDATES:

  • Increased the player's base movement speed.
  • Coffee Mechanic: Increased speed and adjusted duration.
  • Added a Changelog button to the Main Menu.
  • Added a button on the Changelog screen that opens a translated version in your browser based on the current language.
  • Changed the Genre color in the Book Info popup to improve visibility. (The Book Info popup can be toggled ON and OFF with the right mouse button).
  • Added a message when the Player (in Single Player) or the Host (in Multiplayer) tries to leave the match while the library is open, informing them that changes made since the library opened won’t be saved.
  • Added a message for non-host players when the host leaves the game.
  • The game now starts in fullscreen mode by default.


📘 BUG FIXES:

  • When moving furniture, its current rotation is now preserved in the preview.
  • Resolved a bug that allowed furniture to be placed behind certain walls.
  • Resolved a bug that let players duplicate level rewards by leaving and loading a game at a specific time.
  • Fixed missing and unclear translations.
  • Fixed several text alignment issues.
