A New Monster Available + Stretch Goal Unlocked!

! NEW MONSTER ALERT !

Before we talk about our next stretch goal, I wanted to take a moment to share a really fun addition we've made to the demo over the weekend - there's a brand new monster for you to obtain (just make sure you've updated on Steam)



What is this strange monster? It can be quite tricky to obtain if you're not a monster expert, however, I'll give you a few hints to set you on the right course. You already know that Laz is what happens when a dark spore infection hits Apo, and that you can purify it. However, if you use a Subtractor Gem, a curious item that undoes fusions, you'll find yourself with a Spore on your team as well...

Take the poison-kitten monster Playg and this newfound Spore to the fusion machine, to obtain this new Absolute Fusion. We love monster deep lore and "monster biology" so expect more interesting interactions like this in the completed game!

I have to give a big thanks to everyone that has played our demo and supported Monster Crown Sin Eater on Kickstarter. Thanks to this support, we've not only reached successful funding, but we've smashed two stretch goals - the first, baby monsters was expanded upon in our last update, however, the newest one Customize Your Playthrough is sure to be of interest to all. Randomizer/Customizer options have always been thoroughly enjoyed by our fans and we couldn't be more excited to bring them back around again. Even if you aren't sure you have what it takes for challenges, simply customising monsters, colors and typing can make for an amazing fresh playthrough, finding a legendary beast just outside your home at level 4 is always a surreal experience.

Thank you all for following along, and be sure to grab the latest monster to add to your collections! We've got 9 days to go and with over 800 backers, we're super excited and actively planning out the rest of development internally with a huge degree of motivation from all of you!

Monster Babies Unlocked!!!

While we talked about babies in our last update and expanded on the mechanics of them, we wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all and share some fanart some folks on bsky and our discord server created:

Benny is a super-appreciated fan of ours who has even contributed to our games in the past (you might remember the Philosopher Kings art upgrade), based on the above artwork, I think it soon might be time again to collab :)

Our next stretch goal is "Customize Your Playthrough" and it brings a wealth of option to spice up your playthroughs, even after you know Sin Eater inside-out.



While many people are fans of randomizers in other monster taming games, in Monster Crown they take on a new level of depth and have always been a big hit with our hardcore players. Not only is every monster in every area randomized, but they have randomized colors and typing. I'm sure you can imagine how wild things will be when you start to use these monsters to crossbreed!

With the new battle system designed by Ahab and Kyle these options are sure to provide a challenge to even the most hardcore battle-expert.

By unlocking the Baby Monster stretch goal with us, we're also now revealing an additional goal, which you may have noticed if you checked the Kickstarter page already earlier today:

Thanks to the support of all of you, Monster Crown: Sin Eater is now a confirmed reality. We will have the funds to pay the team to complete the game, and bring it to all of you on PC and Nintendo Switch.

We've had a number of questions about Nintendo Switch 2. We are working on getting access to the Nintendo Switch 2 tools, and when we have them, backers will be given the option to select Switch 2 as a platform. There will be a survey sent out after the campaign wraps up to confirm what platform you want, and you'll have that option again after we secure that platform.

Next up: Stretch Goals



We're so excited about this upcoming goal that we have created the art for the first baby just today. You know Laz, you know he purifies to make Apo, you know Apo can SuperGro into ApoSG, but do you know baby Apo?



Once added, baby Apo will emerge from the egg until level 4, when it will mature. Like mentioned above you can also obtain special attacks and colors this way. This will be available for every base monster species.



Two new Monsters added to the demo

Inspired by all the excitement from demo players and our kickstarter backers, the team and I took a look at our "not quite ready" list of monsters today and found two that were very close to complete. We completed them and added them to the demo for you to enjoy!



Ensure you're updated and you can now make these two new monsters your own, Orieobor (left), Kushe (right). Start your search on the far-west portion of the demo's map and you'll find the first!
