Tactichord: Glam Strategy progress is rolling along! We've been following the stars and traversing that wasteland of game development between first playable and vertical slice. The game is totally playable, but does it have all the bells and whistles to represent the core game loop? Not just yet.

Since announcing in January, we've been plugging away on a score of things, working both lengthwise to fill out content needed for the eventual demo, and also improving the core battle experience. To talk about everything we've done would be exhaustive so I'll stick to a few highlights.

Character art is dropping into place, not only our heroes but the enemies they run up against. Witness the transformation of a crotchety music hater into a hard core hair metal fan!

There are three main musical themes peppered through the first six levels of the game, though each battle has a different arrangement and the riffing style, lyrics, and guitar solos are chosen by the player, creating a number of possible songs to suit all kinds of discerning tastes. Each song has two complete sets of lyrics set around a particular theme, and every turn of battle you can choose either a rhyming couplet or a sick guitar solo.

After completing a level you're treated to a highlight reel of your adventures converting music haters into hardcore metal fans. Camera zooms, dolly shots, and solarization are some of the effects tied to different game events to help stitch together a unique music video of a band on the run.

Saturday, May 31st Tactichord: Glam Strategy will be featured at Stockholm video game nightclub Syntax Error!

We have some tweaks and improvements from our playtest at the Moderskeppet Gaming cruise last week and we're bringing the band to another venue at H62 near Mariatorget in Stockholm. Visit on your way back from the Stockholm Comic Con and you can also try your hand at some other great indie games made by our fellow co-workers from the iNiS/Elite Beat Agents days, Banana Bash! and Brass.

Tactichord sets sail on the high seas with Moderskeppet: Gaming!

Ahoy mateys! Are ye lusting for a taste of our upcoming tactical starlet and the salty smell of the high seas? Then ye are welcome aboard the Moderskeppet Gaming cruise May 15-16.

Next week we are joining Swedish promoters Geeks AB on their cruise from Stockholm. The chartered Viking Line boat will be filled with music, events, and most importantly, indie games! Tactichord will have its first public play test in the indie gaming area of the ship on the 10th deck. This is a big step forward for us as up until now we've been doing exclusively play testing with other game devs in town.

Tactichord: Glam Strategy is coming!

Hell-o headbangers! We're so glad to be able to announce our new game after keeping our lips sealed for around a year! If you're looking for a nostalgic trip through 80s hair metal with a tactical twist, you've come to the right place!

Tactichord: Glam Strategy is our third title, after Backbeat and Hexagroove: Tactical DJ, and a game that mashes up our unique take on turn-based tactics with the dream of prancing about on stage in spandex and going through three cans of hair spray every morning.

Feel free to drop us a line on our social media or even better yet, visit our Discord to check out all the dev logs and daily banter about whether Van Halen is better with David Lee Roth or Sammy Hagar (there is a right answer). If you like reading mail with your morning Coors red eye, you can join our mailing list here to get extra details and behind the scenes sneak peeks!
