Hello, this is the Freestyle 2 Development Team.
The 2025 Winter Balance Patch will be applied with the 12/17 (Wed)
update.
Please check the details below and feel free to share your valuable feedback
regarding the balance patch.
Season 2 Trait Update
→ Following the “Season 1: Return of the Elite” update from last August,
the “Season 2 Trait Update” will now take place.
→ Announcements regarding the end of the current trait season
and the start of the new season will be provided beforehand.
→ You cannot equip duplicate traits of the same type from different
tiers.
→ You can check the detailed information in each position’s traits after the
update.
Balance Logic Adjustments
1. Back Roll Turn Pull-Up Jumper 3PT Success Rate Adjustment
→ The 3-point success rate of the Back Roll Turn Pull-Up Jumper will be
increased.
2. Kill Pass Activation Range Adjustment
→ The activation range of the Kill Pass will be reduced from its previous
range.
Developer Comment
Last week’s developer note provided an early overview of the direction for
the Season 2 Trait Update.
This Season 2 balance patch focuses on addressing issues identified
during Season 1 and reinforcing the unique playstyles of each position.
Season 2 Balance Patch Direction
In Season 1, as we expanded positional diversity, some positions experienced
unclear roles or became overly skewed toward certain play patterns.
In Season 2, we have addressed these issues as follows:
> Stabilized elements that caused problems
> Adjusted each position’s role and identity to be more clearly defined
As a result, Season 2 prioritizes stable improvements rather than
large-scale changes.
This season serves as a phase to thoroughly review the current state
and gather data, rather than dramatically shifting the meta.
This is an important preparation phase for the next season,
and the decisions made prioritize long-term quality over short-term changes.
We will continue to make ongoing improvements based on your gameplay
experience and feedback.
Note:
→ After the balance patch, traits will be reset, so please make sure to check
and re-equip your traits.
