[/h3][p]Patch v0.3.9[/p][p][/p][p]In the last announcement, I declared that the January update was the last update to the demo before early access launch.[/p][p]In the meantime, the launch of Early Access has been pushed to April. The artists and myself are working very hard to get early access ready as soon as possible, and it will be worth the wait! To compensate, 3 new items have been added to the demo to shake things up.[/p][p][/p][h3]Introducing: The Rain-Bow build.[/h3][p][/p][p]3 new bows build around the "unique bow" archetype:[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]🔸War Bow: Start of Combat: Permanently gain +2 Damage per unique bow.[/p][p]🔸Launcher: On Trigger: Trigger another random bow.[/p][p]🔸Dragon's Edge: Every 10 Triggers: If you only have unique bows, trigger your other bows 10 times.[/p][p] [/p][p]You might notice that Dragon's Edge is a new type: Dragon.[/p][p]This is a teaser to the upcoming set after Storm and Witch in early access.[/p][p][/p][h3]Fixes:[/h3][p]🔸2x speed-up now makes sudden death appear twice as fast like it's supposed to. This bug was the source of players getting twice the amount of damage against The Oak. [/p][p]🔸Fixed some sound effects being too loud, like the lucky reroll "ding".[/p][p][/p][p][/p]

Pack Selection
[p]Early Access will launch with 10 packs, each with 9 items. You will need to pick 8 to play with.[/p][p][/p][h3]Pack Flexibility[/h3][p]If you want a crazy game, pick all packs! You need to play with minimum 8 but there is no cap on how many you can add.[/p][p][/p][p]Want a fresh experience every time? If you pick less than 8 packs, the game will fill out random packs each game to a minimum of 8. This means, If you love the Elven and Witch pack, just pick those two. The game will always include them, but fill out 6 other random packs every time you play.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
New Feature: Perks
[p][/p][p]Before a game, you will be able to choose starting perks! You pick a loadout of 3, and will gain a random one of those each game. You could also pick the "Random" perk, which will give you a completely random perk each game. This option provides a little extra rating in ranked. You start with only a few perks unlocked, and gain more as you complete quests / achievements in the game, providing a new cool form of progression.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]

New Feature: Slot Buffs
[p]This is a new feature in the early access. Slot buffs grant a buff to the item in that slot![/p][p][/p][p]There are some basic ones, like +10 Shield, +25% crit chance, but also some more unique ones:[/p][p][/p][p] [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]

[h3]Greetings, Oaklings! [/h3][p]Patch v0.3.8[/p][p][/p][h3]⭐ Happy 2026 ⭐[/h3][p][/p][p]This update will likely be the last demo update before the game releases into early access early 2026. The game is going to be actively developed throughout early access, and eventually release as the full 1.0 version. During this time, the game will recieve new item packs and cool new features. [/p][p][/p][p]This is all possible thanks to Alibi Games, who have agreed to fund the development of Oaken Tower throughout early access. This allows me to work full-time on Oaken Tower in 2026 and hopefully longer![/p][p][/p]
Art
[p]When I first started making games, I always dreamt of working with artists. However, I didn't have the financial power, so I opted for payed assets. This is why you see some items in Oaken Tower in other games like Megabonk.
As announced on the discord, I am extremely excited to reveal that I am now working with artists for the early access release of OT. Many aspects of the game will get a visual upgrade, including the items. And I would like to take a moment to appreciate the new beautiful Steam page artwork, created by Fim (who actually also created the Steam page art for Megabonk)[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
What's New
[p]To prepare for the early access release, this update brings a few new things: [/p][p][/p][p]🔸As all item sets are going to consist of 9 items, 4 new items have been introduced. These are cross-pack items, as I aim to create more cross-pack synergy in general.[/p][p][/p][p]Winter's Embrace: Legendary | Moon, Frosty[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Staff of Zeus: Rare | Flame, Storm [/p][p][/p][p]Diamond Axe: Rare | Crystal, Storm [/p][p][/p][p]Simple Curses: Rare | Arcane, Witch[/p][p] [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]This brings the total items of each pack to 9, which is going to be the permanent standard.[/p][p][/p][p]Some of these items also introduce a new debuff: Shock.[/p][p]The storm set is going to have a lot of synergy surrounding the shock debuff.

There has also been changes to the Arcane set, adding the shock debuff to its "Rainbow Debuff" identity.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]🔸"Lesser Potions" have been introduced.[/p][p]These can currently be generated by the Simple Curses item.
