For fans of the Necrophage and the Aspects factions, there have been a number of changes that addressed underperformance and thematic cohesion for each of these factions, respectively. In a recent dev blog about the Necrophage faction, game designer Pierre took a deep dive into their insectoid world, identifying a few key issues with their implementation and outlining the development team's vision for rectifying them. Here are a few of the key changes that have shipped so far:
  • Necrophage levels their districts differently now, upgrading as soon as a Matriarch's Eye is built adjacently
  • Tentacles are now built instantly, with no industry costs and no turn-based costs, only a scaling cost in Corpses
  • Defensive tentacles and military districts have been fused -- defense by death!
  • Feedholes now give food instead of Corpses, and upgrade the yields for Devour the Land
  • Additional thematic upgrades that incentivize building (as opposed to doin a bit of everything)
  • Economic changes related to cadaver yield
For all of you Aspects enjoyers out there, this faction also got some improvements that reinforce their identity as a people who thrive through coral-based harmony rather than domination. Here's a quick look at some of the most important ones:
  • New trait: Cultural Approval (+5 approval on Pacified minor faction villages)
  • New trait: Barter System (removes access to the Dust District for the fullest expression of the Aspects' symbiosis-based identity)
  • Coral tiles now grant +1 Food
  • Buyout with Influence added as an additional unlock in Era II technology
  • Coral spawn rate adjusted from 5 to 7 turns
  • Coralized villages now spread coral to adjacent tiles, and now have a -100% Bribe cost
  • Laboratories, farms, and works now have double adjacency bonuses
These changes, all of which shipped in Update #11, should make the Aspects feel much more thematically cohesive as a diplomatic, harmonious faction.

Last but certainly not least, Game Director Derek Paxton recently shared a new State of the Game blog for ENDLESS Legend II. This post served as a retrospective of everything the Amplitude team has accomplished in recent months -- from increased midgame friction and new construction flows to writing improvements and AI progress. It also gave players a look forward at where the Amplitude development team wants to continue their work, especially in regards to:
  • Rebalancing Public Opinion
  • Implementing retaliation mechanics
  • Adding custom factions
  • Revamped endgame and victory conditions
  • A new ENDLESS Monsoon apocalyptic event
  • And more!
There's lots of other valuable information in this most recent State of the Game report, so be sure to check out the full post for everything you might have missed:
