ZHUISHU Demo Update Notes (Fixes & Improvements)

[p]Hello everyone, this is the developer of ZHUISHU[/p][p] Thank you so much for playing the demo during the Next Fest and leaving such detailed feedback! Over the past weeks, I’ve been focusing on addressing issues related to control feel, display logic, and several story progression bugs.[/p][p]Here are the main updates in this patch 👇[/p][hr][/hr][h3]🎮 Controls & Interaction[/h3]
  • [p]Click detection: Adjusted certain clickable areas — interactions below the center line should now respond properly.[/p]
  • [p]Movement & footstep sync: Footstep timing is now synced with movement speed, making the character’s motion feel more grounded.[/p]
  • [p]Running feel: Tweaked running animation and speed to reduce the previous “sticky / heavy” feeling. Movement should feel smoother now.[/p]
  • [p]Chapter menu scrolling: Fixed an issue where sliding through the chapter list could accidentally trigger clicks. The scroll area transparency has been adjusted for smoother operation.[/p]

  • [p]Dialogue display: Dialogue now appears all at once, avoiding the distracting text movement during generation.[/p]
  • [p]Punctuation display: Updated the font — punctuation marks should now display correctly.[/p]
  • [p]Text consistency: Fixed mismatches between in-game text and images in certain scenes.[/p]

🎮 Dev Log Update | Major Improvements to Characters & Core Systems
Hi everyone,
I’m the solo developer behind this game, and I’d love to share some progress I’ve made recently.
This update focuses on refining character depth, upgrading gameplay systems, and improving overall immersion. Let’s dive in:

✨ Character Development & Worldbuilding Enhancements
I’ve spent time polishing each character’s backstory and personality, making them feel more vivid and emotionally grounded.
You’ll also notice more nuanced interactions and expressions, aimed at strengthening your emotional connection with them.

🏃 Movement System Overhaul
A new running mechanic has been added, allowing for more dynamic and responsive movement, especially in tense sequences.
Animations have been smoothed out to make movement feel more fluid and natural.

🧩 Puzzle Design Upgrades
I’ve introduced new puzzles that are more closely tied to the story.
They’re designed to feel logical and meaningful while offering a stronger sense of challenge and progression.

🛠 Bug Fixes & Performance Optimization
Several known issues have been addressed, and overall game performance has been improved.
You should notice smoother gameplay and a more stable experience.

🎬 CG Cutscenes & Visual Enhancements
New high-quality CG cutscenes have been added to highlight key story moments.
I’ve also enhanced lighting and color grading across various scenes to create a stronger emotional atmosphere.
