Here are next week's free games from the Epic Games Store

You've probably heard by now that the Epic Games Store has gotten into the habit of giving away free games every week or so, and with the occasional hiccup here and there, this has been going on for about a year and a half now. Starting today, you can get the excellent Torchlight II free of charge, which means we now get a peek at the games that will be on offer next week: Tacoma and Next Up Hero.

Tacoma is a forensic sci-fi adventure from Fullbright, the studio that made Gone Home. In Tacoma, you explore a empty space station, searching for clues about what happened to its missing crew. Over the course of the adventure, you'll learn about their private conversations and communiques, their inner lives, and what wound up on happening that led to the station being abandoned.

It's not a long game, but it's beautifully realised and quickly draws you into the lives of its ghostly characters, who you'll mostly hear in echoes and footage reconstructed from surveillance cameras and other data. It's certainly worth a look, and at the low, low cost of completely free, it's a steal.

Big patch, small update!

Hi there! If you already own Tacoma, you may notice a large patch from Steam today. But, despite the patch size, it should keep everything pretty much exactly as it was: we've updated the game to be compliant with MacOS Catalina's new security requirements, which required upgrading the game to a new version of Unity-- which means practically every file got touched in the process, causing a large patch size on Steam. But, everything should work the same, just maybe running a little smoother, with a few bugs fixed that we found along the way, and better compatibility for Xbox and DualShock controllers.

If you see any issues with the new version, please let us know on the tech support subforum! https://steamcommunity.com/app/343860/discussions/5/

Edge of a Decade

Gone Home makes Edge Magazine's list of "The 12 Games that Defined the 2010s!"

2019 is coming to a close, and with it the end of a decade. Edge Magazine is closing out the year with a very special edition: their "12 Games that Defined the Decade," each given its own unique variant cover of the print edition-- and Gone Home made the list!

We're incredibly honored to share space with unforgettable games like Spelunky, The Walking Dead, Dark Souls, Breath of the Wild, and more. To celebrate the occasion, we've put Gone Home on a special discount this weekend, along with our second game, Tacoma, for Gone Home fans who haven't taken the plunge with us into the depths of space. Check out the specials on our Developer Page on Steam!

Thank you, Edge, for including Gone Home in this special issue-- and thanks to everyone who's played!

Housekeeping! Minor fixes patch

We've done a little late-stage housekeeping, and a small patch is now available for Tacoma. The following quality-of-life issues have been addressed. Thanks for playing!

> PS4 controller input now correctly recognized
> Game correctly detects and displays the chosen monitor's native resolution on first launch after fresh install, and when switching displays
> Options menu UI consistency tweaks
> Multiple displays in Options menu are listed starting at '1' instead of '0'
> Now possible to earn Master of Unlocking Steam Achievement when opening Drone Bay door from the 'wrong' side
> Incorrect pronoun use in Spanish translation of news article in Sareh's quarters has been fixed
> Updated timestamp for one of the AR scenes in ODIN’s room (“entering the chamber”) should now be 14 hours ago to match with the subsequent scene.

Fullbright 7th Anniversary Sale!

This April is the 7th anniversary of the founding of Fullbright-- and to celebrate, we're discounting both our games, Gone Home and Tacoma, by 70%!

We're so grateful to everyone who's taken the time to explore the stories we've created. If you have a friend who hasn't taken the leap into our games yet, feel free to point them at the sale via the Fullbright collection on Steam... or now's the perfect time to send along a Steam gift copy!

Thanks again for playing, and here's to another great year! ːmixtapeː
