Our team had loads of fun at MAGFest this year showing off AVGN 8-bit! And looking back on the event, we wanted to share how we created the Angry Video Game Nerd set for our booth set!

First, we got measurements from the actual set! Then, we got to work gathering the materials we needed, followed by the painting, drilling, and all that stuff! We also had to go into Photoshop to digitally recreate every shelf of "games" on the booth design, supporting the printed games with floral cubes!

After testing the entire build at our warehouse, we were set for MAGFest! We unloaded everything, put the booth together, set up an NES in a cabinet underneath a CRT TV, and away we went!

The Angry Video Game Nerd is back in an all-new 8-bit adventure! Working alongside Mega Cat Studios—developers of Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit—Retroware is proud to announce its newest AVGN title: AVGN 8-bit!


When a corrupted monstrosity threatens the world, The Nerd must throw himself into the digital hellscape to purge the menace! Set across multiple, authentically 8-bit levels, players will encounter monsters, ghouls, robo-skeletons and more as they traverse through nonlinear environments.



With enemies and familiar bosses taking on forms from the AVGN universe, The Nerd must battle against revamped versions of his past foes!



And to top it off, Retroware has partnered with Limited Run Games to release the game in physical editions for every console—including on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) as a cartridge! More info on these at a later date!
