This is Gnaughty Gnomes (Devlog 1)
Hey everyone!
We're Sand Castles Studio, a small indie team of 8 people. Three years ago, we developed Bread & Fred, the co-op game where two penguins climb a mountain while tied together with a rope.
In February, we announced our new multiplayer game: Gnaughty Gnomes. Yep, it's a game about gnomes, but these gnomes fight to the death!

This time, we're here to share some updates on its development in this first devlog (more to come!): how we came up with the idea, what the game's all about, and what you can expect from the gameplay.
How did it all start?
One random afternoon, we came across Bloodroots, that fast-paced game where you can use almost anything in the environment as a weapon. And that sparked a question: ''What if the characters were gnomes? And what if they started brawling with whatever they could grab?''
That's how our new project was born: a chaotic multiplayer game for 2 to 4 players, where matches are quick, the maps are tight, and the goal is simple: be the last gnome standing.
What can you do in Gnaughty Gnomes?
▪️Throw ANYTHING you find on the ground
▪️Punch your enemies in +20 themed maps
▪️Choose between +120 skill cards
▪️Dodge like a ninja
▪️Taunt your friends with goofy emotes
In a nutshell, we could say that Gnaughty Gnomes is a mix between Bloodroots, Party Animals, Rounds and Boomerang Fu.
Chaos... with upgrades
After a couple of rounds, each player gets to choose a random upgrade from hundreds of options. Some are useful, others are... well, completely chaotic. But they all shake up the gameplay. And once everyone has a few upgrades stacked, the match turns into a full-on festival of chaos and laughs.

If you like the game, you can try its demo and add it to your wishlist to help us give it more visibility.
We'll keep sharing our progress through more devlogs. Stay tuned!
And stay in touch with us through our social media.
See you soon!
