XenoHaven - Developer Q&A
Hello everyone!
Since the release of the trailer for our sandbox survival building game XenoHaven, we’ve received a lot of positive feedback from players.
At the same time, many players have shared their thoughts and questions in the comments. To address some of the most common concerns, we’ve decided to release a Developer Q&A session.
1️⃣ Concerns About Plagiarism
The developer of XenoHaven is a passionate fan of RimWorld and this genre as a whole. The vision for this game has always been to create an open-world survival-building experience with an RPG perspective, where players take on the role of a colonist landing on an alien planet. 🚀
After playing Keplerth, we found valuable insights into how RimWorld’s mechanics could be reinterpreted in an RPG format—huge respect to our amazing predecessors! 🙌 Beyond Keplerth, we’ve also drawn inspiration from other excellent games such as CryoFall and Necesse. However, we are committed to developing unique features that define XenoHaven.
For example, when faced with the challenges of surviving on an alien planet, should the only solution be defeating the final boss and building a massive rocket to escape? Or are there alternative possibilities? 🤔 Perhaps you could find a pre-built rocket and pay an exorbitant fee for a ticket out. These choices excite us, and they set us apart in terms of game design themes. We’d love to hear more of your creative ideas! 💡
2️⃣ Art Design Concerns
We sincerely apologize 🙇 for any overly similar art elements. Some placeholder assets were used during development, and we are in the process of replacing them step by step. 🔄 We’ll conduct thorough reviews to ensure all elements are fully replaced, and we’ll also refine the UI based on player feedback. 🎨
3️⃣ Current Development Progress
The core framework of the game has been built, and we’ve validated most of the key mechanics. The next phase involves refining the game and adding more content. We are committed to taking steady, well-planned steps forward. 🏗️ Our long-term development and update plans will be shared at the right time.Right now, our top priority is testing the core gameplay of the current version. We sincerely invite everyone to participate in our testing and share your feedback—whether it’s encouragement 🌟 or constructive criticism ⚠️, we take it all seriously.
💬 Please leave your thoughts in the comments! The most popular ideas might even be implemented in the game—who knows, you might even get an in-game statue in your honor! 🗿✨
4️⃣ Pet System
The pet system will be further expanded! 🐾 Players will be able to capture all animals on the planet, and these pets will not only assist in combat ⚔️ but can also be used as mounts 🏇.
5️⃣ Future Development Plans
We aim to introduce more engaging content that enhances the game’s uniqueness and depth. We’ll continue sharing development progress and discussing new features with our players. 📢A major focus will be expanding the multi-ending design. We believe that a world shouldn’t have just one solution—combat is not the only option. We plan to enrich the gameplay to allow players to approach survival in different ways. 🌎
For example:
If you have your own ideas for alternate endings, we’d love to hear them in the community! 📝
6️⃣ Mod Support & Multiplayer System
We value modding greatly. 🔧 A game truly thrives when the community actively contributes to its design and expands it with mods, so we plan to enable mod support appropriately.Survival-building games are never meant to be played alone, which is why multiplayer is a key development focus moving forward. We will begin testing this feature as soon as possible. 🌐
Additionally, we’re planning to organize more community events. 🥳 Join our official community to become a part of the Alien Settlement Administration! 🏡

For example:
- Instead of building a rocket, why not simply buy a ticket on an existing one? 🎫
- You could submit to the alien insectoid species and become their servant. 👀
- Through careful management, you could develop your colony into a prosperous hub, eventually earning recognition from the Empire and becoming the governor of an official colony in the “500 Worlds”. 🏛️
