Christmas in Log Away

[p]It is Christmas Eve, and we wanted to share something warm, quiet, and wonderfully festive.[/p][p]Our producer Andrej took a little break from the busy world and built a cozy cabin entirely dressed in Christmas coziness. The goal was simple: to show how beautiful Log Away builds become when you bring in decor from the Christmas DLC. The same walls, the same space, but suddenly everything feels different. Softer. Brighter. Like home. The joy is in the details, and in the feeling that your retreat is waiting for you, exactly the way you want it.[/p][p]If you need an hour of calm during the holiday rush, this is your invitation. Open Log Away, revisit a favorite retreat or start a new one, and decorate your cabin for the season. If the Christmas DLC is missing from your collection, you can pick it up on Steam and join in. [/p]
[dynamiclink][/dynamiclink]Wishing you all a Merry Christmas!
The Plants Update is Available Now

[p]Hello,[/p][p]The Plants Update has arrived - a meaningful step toward making your retreats feel even more alive, softer, and more “yours”.[/p][p][/p]
New décor items
[p]This update adds a fresh batch of cozy items to play with, focused on warmth, comfort, and atmosphere:[/p]
 • [p]Plants - bring a little life indoors (and out).[/p]
 • [p]Teddy bears - because every retreat deserves a quiet companion.[/p]
 • [p]Carpets - instantly warmer floors, instantly cozier vibes.[/p]
 • [p]Tablecloths - small detail, big mood.[/p]
 • [p]Deck chairs - slow mornings, long sunsets.[/p]
 • [p]Pillows - the universal symbol of “you can rest here”.[/p]
[p][/p]
New launch option: DirectX 11 (DX11)
[p]This update also introduces a DirectX 11 launch option. If you’re not familiar with DirectX: it’s basically the graphics “mode” the game uses to talk to your PC.[/p][p]Up until now, Log Away launched in DirectX 12 (DX12) by default. DX12 can run great on many systems, but for some players it can also mean lower performance or crashes.[/p][p]With the new DX11 option:[/p]
 • [p]You should see much better performance if DX12 wasn’t playing nicely with your setup.[/p]
 • [p]If you experienced crashes, DX11 should be the stable fix with no crashes at all.[/p]
[p]How to use DX11:[/p]
 • [p]Go to your Steam Library → right‑click Log Away → Properties → General → Launch Options → select Play DirectX 11 (Compatibility).[/p]
 • [p]And if DX12 already runs perfectly for you, feel free to keep using it.[/p]
[p][/p]
Fixes, optimization & polish
[p]Alongside the new items, we also tackled minor bug fixes, optimization, and general polish to keep everything running smoother and feeling better.[/p][p][/p]
Coming in January
[p]We’re not stopping here. In January, we’re bringing:[/p]
 • [p]Kitchen furnishings & items (highly requested).[/p]
 • [p]Full compatibility with Steam Deck.[/p]
 • [p]Probably more surprises.[/p]
[p][/p]
Holiday wishes
[p]Wherever you are, and however your year has been: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.[/p][p]May 2026 treat you gently - with fewer rushed days, more quiet evenings, and at least a little time to slow down… even if it’s just for one cozy hour in your retreat.[/p][p]— The Log Away team[/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p]

The Color Update is Here!

[p]Hello everyone,[/p][p]The striking "Color Update" is here! It brings more ways to personalize your retreat, along with a round of polishing and fixes.[/p][p][/p]
New color variations
[p]There were many, many requests for more item customization, especially for changing the color. We listen to your feedback, and so we added five new color variations for almost all building and furnishing items:[/p]
 1. [p]Gentle pink[/p]
 2. [p]Gentle blue[/p]
 3. [p]Olive green[/p]
 4. [p]Black[/p]
 5. [p]Ivory[/p]
[p][/p]
New roofs and planks
[p]To expand your building options, we also added new roof variations - you can now match your builds even more closely with new plank variations in the same five colors listed above.[/p][p]For the two snowy destinations, Blue Dell and Glass Lake, we added a snow roof option to better fit the winter atmosphere and to match the Christmas-themed items included in the DLC.[/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p]
Polishing and bug fixes
[p]Alongside the new customization options, we made small improvements, general polishing, and bug fixes. We keep improving the game wherever we can.[/p][p][/p]
More furnishings and decor are on the way
[p]We are also preparing a new update that will add many new furnishing and decorating items, all based on your feedback. We will share more details as soon as we can.[/p][p][/p]
Steam Deck status
[p]Valve has reviewed Log Away and marked it as Playable on Steam Deck - which is great news! However, we recommend you to be patient as we are continuing to work toward full compatibility, which also means the best possible experience for you, so we can reach the Verified badge as soon as possible![/p][p][/p][p]Thank you for playing Log Away, and thank you for all the invaluable feedback and support.[/p][p][/p]

Broadcast: Wellness Update Item Showcase

[p]We are going live on Steam for a cozy walkthrough of the Wellness Update.[/p][p]During the broadcast, we will jump into Log Away and focus on the new wellness items that many of you have been asking for. We will place them, style them, and build a few example setups, from a simple wash corner to a more complete bathhouse-style space. We will also share small decorating tips for making these additions feel natural in your retreat.[/p][p][/p][p]After the live stream ends, we will leave the video up on Steam for a few days, so you can watch it later at your own pace. Whether you catch it live or on replay, we hope it feels like a calm little visit to your retreat.[/p]
