👥 Fans or Haters? The New Dynamic with Your Followers

In previous Youtubers Life games, subscribers were basically just a number — a kind of score that could only go up. To make them feel more alive, we added some mechanics in each installment. Today, we want to tell you how this system has evolved and how we’ve reimagined it in Youtubers Life 3 - Stream Together!.
💬 Subscriber Morale
In Youtubers Life OMG, your subscribers’ morale was represented by three bars tied to your activity on different social networks. This forced you to stay active on all of them — including attending events — if you wanted to keep morale high. When morale dropped, your videos’ performance was negatively affected.

In Youtubers Life 2, the system worked in a similar way: your public actions as a creator caused subscriber morale to rise or fall, directly influencing your video results.

In the Early Access version of Youtubers Life 3, we followed a similar logic. Subscriber morale still depended on your actions and affected your final views. However, in this third installment, the system became too demanding, as it forced players to actively participate in all three main gameplay branches.

Unlike previous titles, YL3 features three independent content creation branches. In theory, each one allows you to progress on its own. But the subscriber morale system broke that balance — it forced you to play across all branches, even if that wasn’t your style. This was especially problematic for the streaming branch, which focuses on a slower, more strategic competitive online game — not everyone’s cup of tea, especially for players who preferred a more “private” experience.
🎯 Changes in the Final Version
For the final version, we’ve removed the morale thermometer from the HUD. It will now only be connected to the NewTube platform, while Instalife and Glitch will no longer have that indicator. This means you won’t need to take photos or join online games to progress properly.

We’ve also added a new way to represent your followers’ profile:

📊 Brand distribution:
You’ll be able to see how many followers you have linked to each brand in the game. Depending on the games you publish, you’ll attract fans of those brands. Becoming a “trusted creator” for one brand won’t stop you from making videos for others, but you’ll need to be careful:
 • If you make a video for a rival brand, your loyal fans might get angry 😠
 • If you stick to their favorite brand, they’ll be happy 😄

This system is combined with the new brand and contracts system (which we’ll talk about later) and will force you to maintain a delicate balance between your sponsorships and your community’s loyalty.
📉 Losing Subscribers
Another major new feature in Youtubers Life 3 is that you can now lose subscribers significantly for different reasons.

For example:
 • If your followers for a brand reach their maximum anger level, a percentage will unfollow you.
 • The severity will depend on your karma: players with good karma will lose fewer subscribers than those with bad karma.

There will also be temporary modifiers that affect subscriber loss for a period of time. The most notable is natural follower decay — a gradual loss that happens over time, shown in the HUD while it’s active.
⚠️ Disasters
As your game progresses, disasters can occur — unexpected situations that will test your recovery skills. These events will temporarily affect your progress and set you back a little… but you’ll come out of each crisis stronger 💪.
🧩 Conclusion
These are some of the most important changes we’re implementing to improve subscriber behavior. We believe they add an extra layer of realism and strategy, making your relationship with the community feel more dynamic and alive.

As always, we’ll be paying close attention to your feedback 💬 to fine-tune the game’s direction and make sure the final experience is the best it can be.

Thank you for following us, and see you in the next devlog! 🙌

🎬 New Video Types

Hello Youtubers! 👋

During Early Access, Youtubers Life 3 - Stream Together! allowed you to record 5 different types of videos. The main difference between them was the benefits they provided when published — mainly a views bonus. There were also a few dependencies: for example, to record a “Review” video, you first had to have published at least two “Gameplays” of the same game.

While this system worked, it was somewhat limited, both in immersion and narrative.
As a YouTuber simulator, it didn’t quite capture the feeling of choosing what kind of content to create, and the formula remained almost identical to previous entries.

With the final version, we want to change that. Our goal is for each video type to have narrative meaning, with deeper mechanics and a richer, more varied experience. In addition, not all of them will be game-related: you’ll now also be able to record other kinds of content, such as reactions, vlogs, podcasts, and unboxings.

Here are the details 👇
🕹️ Game-Related Videos

🎮 First Impressions
This one stays the same: you can only record one first impression per game.
🕹️ Gameplay
The most basic type, accessible from the start. You can record up to 4 gameplays of the same game.
🧩 Review
To record a review, you must first have made at least 2 gameplays of the same title. Here’s where things get interesting: you’ll now have to choose the tone of your review — positive or negative. As explained in the devlog about karma, you’ll need to decide whether to be honest with your followers or stay on the good side of the game developer.
⚡ SpeedRun (new)
The SpeedRun is a brand new video type that replaces the old “Commentary”. It has two key features:
 • More demanding recording 🏃‍♂️ No mistakes allowed: if you fail a response during recording, you lose all progress from that session. We want to capture the real tension of a speedrun, where a single mistake can ruin the whole run.
 • Games recommended for SpeedRun. Some titles in the store will have a special icon 🏃‍♀️‍➡️. If you record a SpeedRun of those games, you’ll get a view bonus.
📦 Non-Gaming Videos

🎥 Streaming
No changes: you can still record a stream and publish it later as a video.
📦 Unboxing
New feature!
Every time you receive a package at home, you’ll now be able to record an unboxing. Just like with reviews, you’ll be able to decide how you rate the product — positively or negatively — which will affect the video’s outcome.

You’ll be able to record unboxings of any product you receive at home. 📦✨
🎤 Interviews
At in-game events, you’ll find characters you can interview. Some will accept right away, while others may require you to meet certain conditions before agreeing. Each interview offers different bonuses (virality, views, etc.), so it’ll be worth seeking them out.
😮 Reactions
You can now record reactions to content published by other players. This content can include:
 • 📸 Photos on Instalife
 • 📹 Videos on NewTube

When you see a small icon on one of these posts, you’ll be able to record your reaction directly from there.

During recording, you’ll have to choose your emotion from 5 possible responses. Each one will modify the properties and performance of the final video when published.
📢 Vlogs
Vlogs let you talk about a trending topic or piece of news. You can record them at home or on-site, but first you’ll need to obtain a news item. These can be acquired by attending events, talking to NPCs, entering VIP areas, or joining conferences, among other activities.

Each piece of news has a quality level and a credibility value. You can spend time verifying its authenticity before recording, which will improve your final video score.
🎧 Podcasts (new multiplayer mode)
Podcasts are one of the biggest additions: a completely new multiplayer minigame. We want you to experience what it feels like to be part of a real podcast, sharing your opinions on various topics.

Here’s how it works:
 • It’s played in turns.
 • Each turn features a topic, and each participant must give their opinion.
 • If you pick the right topic while no one else is talking, you’ll use up one “topic icon.”
 • If you speak at the same time as another player, you’ll earn two icons.
 • The winner is the one who runs out of topics first. 🎙️

The result of the minigame will be a video whose final quality level depends on your performance during the match.
🧩 Conclusion
And that’s it for this week’s devlog 🎬 These changes are huge, and we believe they add plenty of new gameplay possibilities. We want every video type to feel unique, with its own challenges and rewards.

As always, we’ll be listening closely to your comments and feedback to keep improving.
Thanks for joining us for another week! ❤️

See you in the next devlog.

🎥 Improvements to the Recording and Publishing Loop

Hey Youtubers! 👋

This week we continue our devlog series where we’re sharing all the improvements coming to the final version of Youtubers Life 3 - Stream Together!. This time, we’re focusing on the changes we’re making to enhance the recording system and add new features to make it more realistic, dynamic, and fun.
💡 Inspiration as a Resource
Inspiration 💡 has always been a resource meant to reflect your creative energy as a youtuber — that spark you need to record videos. Until now, it was only used in the recording minigame, which made it feel a bit simple and disconnected from the rest of the game.

We wanted to strengthen the “Life” aspect that gives the game its name, so we’ve turned inspiration into a cross-cutting resource, influenced —just like in real life— by the balance between work and leisure. From now on, inspiration will have its own dedicated space on the HUD:

Inspiration will be consumed when recording videos, and before recording again you’ll need to recover it by taking part in leisure activities or attending events. These activities will be marked with the inspiration icon so you can easily identify them:

Don’t worry — we’ve put a lot of care into balancing this system. Gaining inspiration will be simple and almost seamless. With a full bar, you’ll be able to record several videos in a row, and as you level up, your maximum inspiration capacity will increase.
🌟 Final Round
When all your inspiration bulbs are filled, you’ll enter a “super inspired” state ✨. For a few minutes, you’ll have access to a final round in the recording minigame, where—with a bit of luck—you might push your video to reach 5-star quality.
⚠️ Strikes
Up until now, channel “strikes” acted as a penalty for uploading copyrighted content. However, the system didn’t quite work: usually, you could just pay a small fine and keep recording, which wasn’t very engaging.

In the new version, fines are gone. If you receive a strike, you’ll need to wait a real-time cooldown for it to expire. There’s no other (legal 😏) way to remove it.

But be careful — this mechanic now ties in with karma:
 • If your channel has bad karma, being controversial because of strikes can actually benefit you: your videos will get more visibility… though you’ll earn less from monetization.
 • If you collect 3 strikes, NewTube will temporarily ban you: you won’t be able to upload videos for a while.

And yes… we said there’s no legal way to remove them. Maybe there’s another one, but you’ll have to discover it by playing. 😉
📈 Viral Videos and Bonuses
Videos you record can now receive bonuses depending on how well you perform during recording. We’ll share more details in future posts, but there’s one bonus you’ll love: “virality.”

Virality gives your video a small chance to go viral the moment you publish it, skyrocketing its stats and completely changing your channel’s performance.
🖼️ Thumbnail Ratings
Thumbnail editing was one of the new features in Youtubers Life 3, but the scoring system made players focus only on getting the best rating rather than being creative. That wasn’t our original intention — we wanted it to be a creative and expressive tool.

That’s why, in this new version, we’ve separated thumbnail creation from visibility scoring.
 • The thumbnail design process will remain similar, but now titles will be generated more coherently with the video’s content.
 • The clickbait system has also been adjusted.
 • Plus, we’ve added tags you can select to boost your video’s visibility. If you choose the right tags—those matching your video’s topic—you’ll get a better visibility score. Over time, you’ll learn which tags work best for your content style.

And that’s it for this week’s devlog 🎬. We hope you enjoy these updates and let us know what you think in the comments. See you next week with more details about the new mechanics coming to Youtubers Life 3 - Stream Together!

Thanks for staying with us! ❤️

🌗 The Karma System

Hello everyone! 👋

This is the first post in a series we’ll be publishing weekly to share all the upcoming features in the next major version of Youtubers Life 3 – Stream Together!. Our goal: to leave Early Access behind, so… yes, something big is coming! 🚀

We know it’s been a while since the last update. When the current version became stable enough, we decided to pause regular patches to focus 100% on major changes that would make the game more fun, coherent, and, above all, closer to what you’ve been asking for.

The main goal of this update is to add more depth to the single-player experience:
 • Make youtuber mechanics more relevant.
 • Add new gameplay content available at all times (no unnecessary waiting).
 • Make online features more optional, for those who prefer to enjoy the story mode at their own pace.
🌗 New Karma System
The first big feature we want to show you is the new karma system.

In Youtubers Life 3 – Stream Together!, we want to reflect how creators decide what image they project to their followers. Some take questionable actions to gain views quickly; others prefer to stay honest, even if growth is slower. Both paths are valid, and that’s exactly what we want you to feel when playing.

The karma system doesn’t punish or reward: playing with good karma is not better or worse than playing with bad karma. It’s a matter of style. You can follow the dark path, chasing quick and easy success 💰, or follow the light path 🌟, growing slowly but with a more loyal community.

In the HUD, you’ll see a new karma indicator with 9 levels. Each “good” action adds points toward the positive side, while each “bad” action moves it toward the negative. The dominant karma type will define your character’s personality.

⚖️ What counts as good or bad actions?

There are many actions in the game that can influence your karma. Here’s one example (though we recommend you discover the rest yourself 😏):

When creating a video, you can choose what message you want to convey. For instance, in Review-type videos, you can decide to make a positive or negative review.

Each decision has consequences:
 • If you recommend a poorly-rated game, you gain bad karma (because you’re misleading your followers), but you improve your relationship with the developer brand.
 • If you criticize a low-quality game, you gain good karma, though your relationship with the brand may be affected.

We’ll talk in detail later about the new video types and their effects… 😉

💡 What is karma for?

Throughout your adventure, you’ll meet many characters you need to interact with to achieve your goals. Some won’t require anything special, but others may ask you to trick them (using bad karma) or offer questionable services only available to unscrupulous players. On the other hand, if you want to take altruistic actions, you’ll need pure karma.

We don’t want to reveal too much yet, but this should give you a good idea of how the system will work in the game.

Karma is just one piece of the new Youtubers Life 3. It will shine even more when combined with other mechanics, which we’ll show you in upcoming devlogs.

We hope you join us on this journey: let us know in the comments what you think of this idea, what kind of youtuber you’ll be, and how you plan to use karma in the game.

See you next week with a new look at another major feature we’re working on.

Thank you for staying with us and being part of this journey! ❤️
