On another note, version 1.0.2 of Set a Watch: Digital Edition is rolling out now. Here you can find what’s new:
[Fix] Resolved an issue affecting mouse wheel scroll speed in the Rulebook (Steam version only).
[Fix] Fixed an issue with the ‘Mano a Mano’ achievement not unlocking.
[Fix] Corrected problems with achievements tied to specific heroes not triggering as intended.

Post-launch update

We want to sincerely apologize for the whole situation surrounding the launch of Set a Watch: Digital Edition. The demo build was mistakenly published as the paid version of the game and players ended up buying something that did not reflect the full experience. The proper version is live, and everyone who owns the game has access to the complete content.

We also would like to clarify a few other changes. The card background has been updated and now uses visuals from the physical board game. The project no longer includes any AI-generated content. In addition, the achievement system has been corrected and is now working properly.

We’re grateful to everyone who spoke up quickly and gave us the opportunity to fix things as fast as we could.

Set a Watch: Digital Edition - Steam full release date change

We owe you a straightforward explanation. Set a Watch: Digital Edition didn’t launch when we said it would, and that’s on us. We set a timeline we ultimately couldn’t meet, and we didn’t communicate the delay when we should have. For that, we are sincerely sorry.

The main reason for the postponement is that the game just isn’t where it needs to be yet. There are still areas that feel rough, and releasing it as is would have left the experience feeling incomplete. On top of that, a few team members fell ill during this stretch, which slowed development down more than we expected. Even so, we should have kept you updated sooner.

We’re now aiming for a late January 2026 launch window. We’ll share the exact date once we’re 100% confident in it, since we don’t want to repeat the mistake of promising a release we cannot deliver.

For now, the demo is still available, and you can check out the mobile version ahead of the official Steam release. Thank you for your patience and for sticking with us through this delay. We know some of you organized your schedules around the original date and were excited for the launch. You deserved clearer communication from us, and we’re committed to earning back that trust through both our updates and the final product. Our true apologies once again.

My favorite DnD style board game has finally got a digital demo version

There's always a lot of anticipation when a game you like gets a new form. Whether it's a sequel, an expansion, an experimental spinoff, or indeed a digital version of something physical, I always feel a sense of excitement held in check by nerves. What if the adaptation doesn't feel right? What if the sequel is disappointing? What if new players don't enjoy this thing that I have given them impassioned pleas to play? Any worries regarding Set a Watch, the Todd Walsh tabletop game, being adapted for the screen immediately dissipated upon playing its new Steam Next Fest demo, however. It nails the feel of the board game and provides exactly the right tactical challenge to stay true to its progenitor and welcome new players to the fold.
