Game Downtime - October 22: Patch #1

[p]Downtime has now concluded and Patch 1 is available to play.[/p][p][/p][p]Our first game patch, Patch 1, is set to release on October 22, 2025 at 9:00 AM ET. This patch will require approximately ~4 hours of downtime. [/p][p][/p][p]We have a long list of balance changes and bug fixes in the barrel to address the top player concerns, and we're excited to get this patch out to you all.[/p]

Lost Rift Early Access Hotfix 3
Combat
• [p]Adjusted AI unfairly headshotting the player. This should lead to more consistent damage from Outcasts, and less "one-shot kills" effect[/p]
UI
• [p]Added the option for solo players to opt out of solo-only matchmaking, for brave solo players who want to play against any team size[/p]
  • [p]Added messaging when the game and the server are not on the same version, so players understand why they can't connect and need to update[/p]
Other
• [p]Fix to prevent servers from uploading old save data. This resolves an issue we had last week, where we had to change some save data for some players manually[/p]
  • [p]Extended the timeout period when launching a server to reduce connection issues[/p]

Early Access Roadmap for Lost Rift

[p]Hello, Rifters! It’s hard to believe it’s already been two weeks since Lost Rift opened its doors to the world. From the first steps onto Pioneers' Landing to the countless expeditions and close calls since, watching our entire community explore, survive, and share your stories with us has been incredible. We want to take a moment to thank every single one of you who joined us for the Early Access launch. Your enthusiasm and feedback have meant the world to our team.[/p][p]We know the journey hasn’t been without its bumps. Some of you have faced bugs or strange anomalies that even our best techs couldn’t have predicted. We hear you, and our team is hard at work tackling these issues that you've raised. Your reports through Discord and the Steam forums have already helped us identify and resolve several key issues. That process will continue until Lost Rift feels as stable and immersive as it was meant to be.[/p][p][/p]
Confirmed in Development
[p]We have had many requests from excited players since our EA launch, asking us what's being added to the game. Today, we’re excited to share a glimpse of what’s next with our initial Early Access Roadmap.[/p][p]Please note that this is just a first look and not the full, exhaustive list of all our Early Access plans. It only includes things we're ready to share with the community, and there's more to come. [/p][p][/p][p][/p]

  • [p]New Prey Fauna: Our cutest addition yet, the capybara, will be found on the new Expedition map.[/p]
  • [p]Gun Modding: Customize your loadout and experiment with attachments to fit your playstyle.[/p]
  • [p]New Firearms: Multiple new tools of survival and destruction are on the way.[/p]

  • [p]Pioneers' Landing Fast Travel System: Expedite your journeys across the island.[/p]
  • [p]Better Expedition Onboarding: To help new players hit the ground running without feeling overwhelmed, we'll be upgrading the matchmaking system to match players together based on their game progress.[/p]
  • [p]Solo Revives and Opt-in Solo Expedition Queues: Our goal is to make solo play more accessible and just as fun as squads.[/p]
  • [p]Quality of Life Improvements:[/p]
    • [p]Craft at your workbench from your storage with a new chest type[/p]
    • [p]Remove ammo directly from guns, allowing ammo swapping[/p]
    • [p]HUD indication of armor durability, so you know when your armor breaks[/p]
[p][/p]
Continuous Updates Based on Player Feedback
[p]Expect continuous updates from us focused on:[/p]
  • [p]Weapon, AI, and economy balancing[/p]
  • [p]Smarter and more responsive AI behaviors[/p]
  • [p]Refinements to the revive and heavy wound systems[/p]

Server downtime concluded

[p]We will be taking the server network offline for maintenance in approximately 40 minutes, on the hour. The time will be 7pm ET. [/p][p]Servers will be offline for approximately 50 minutes.[/p][p][/p][p]Our downtime is now completed! Thanks for your patience.[/p]

Lost Rift Early Access Hotfix 2

[p][/p]
Matchmaking
• [p]Restricted solo player matchmaking to only ever match solo players together, instead of allowing solos to sometimes end up with duos, etc. We will be making this optional in the future, but this option is forced on for all solo players currently, as of this update[/p]
[p][/p]
Crossbow Balance
• [p]Reduce Crossbow damage to 55[/p]
  • [p]Reduce Combat Crossbow damage (120 > 60)[/p]
[p]We have received a large number of players due to the strength of crossbows. The Combat Crossbow and Crude Crossbow can no longer one-shot enemy players.[/p][p][/p]
Environment Fixes
• [p]Fixed multiple locations on Pioneers’ Landing and Western Island where players could fall into rocks and become stuck. Please continue to report any instances you may find.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed some rock collision issues where players could walk inside rocks (more of these cases still need to be addressed)[/p]
  • [p]Fixed some collision issues with rocks on Pioneers’ Landing where the player appeared to be hovering on top of the rock instead of standing on it[/p]
  • [p]Replaced mining nodes from the walls to the ground to prevent issues with loot falling in unintended ways[/p]
[p][/p]
Hyena Balance Changes
• [p]Lowered hyena health (120 > 70)[/p]
  • [p]Lowered alpha hyena health (240 > 140)[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where hyenas were not receiving bonus damage for headshots. Normal hyenas will now die to one headshot (by basic bow and axe throw, does not include all guns due to rate of fire)[/p]
  • [p]Reduced the hyena population on Western Island by 40%[/p]
  • [p]Hyenas will now chase the player for a shorter distance[/p]
[p]Hyenas are too strong, we’ve heard your feedback! Please let us know how they feel after the update.[/p][p][/p]
Raid Changes
• [p]Reduced the number of raid nests that can be active.
  • Please note this will not reduce the number of active nests on pre-existing worlds, but will prevent more from activating*[/p]
  • [p]Reduced the number of raiders sent to attack the player[/p]
  • [p]Decreased the frequency of raids [/p]
  • [p]Fixed issues causing Outcast and hyena raids not to be defeated (not definitive, and there may be additional cases for us to resolve)[/p]
[p]Raids have been a pain point for early-game play, and we have addressed these concerns with the listed alterations. We will be monitoring your feedback to see if these changes are enough to make the raids feel less one-sided.[/p][p][/p]
Combat
• [p]Fixed an issue where shots that hit the player's neck were able to bypass armor[/p]
[p][/p]
Audio
• [p]Resolved an audio issue where the lockdown siren would continuously play throughout Pioneers’ Landing without attenuation[/p]
