Concerning Difficulty

[p]Hello Friends![/p][p][/p][p]We're reading your comments, and really appreciate how almost everyone has something nice to say about our squishy blue guy. We also see that there are 2 clear groups of people: those who think the game is way too hard and those who think the game is way too easy.[/p][p][/p][p]For those who think the game is too easy:[/p][p]We understand where you're coming from... and our design philosophy was to make the game on the easier side, to appeal to the general Sushi Cat audience more than expert tower defense players. The original Sushi Cat games are all simple, casual games (including Cat-A-Pult), and we wanted to keep a similar vibe. However, players do need to feel a challenge... they do need to feel like the upgrades provide value... they do need to have some reason to replay. So we'll go back and take a look at what's feasible to add/change to give folks more.[/p][p][/p][p]For those who think the game is too hard:[/p][p]This camp, who are likely Sushi Cat fans but not as much tower defense experience... might not be familiar with this type of tower defense, where the goal is not really to build up defenses, but to build a maze and combine all 4 paths into 1. We've seen people focus on unlocking new towers as their first Talents, when the #1 most important early game upgrade is more starting sushi (this is why it's inexpensive and on the left-side of the Talent tree). We do not think we need to make the game easier, but maybe we can add more to the Hint pool between waves, to push players to try different strategies that could lead to longer, more successful runs.[/p][p][/p][p]Here is a suggested starting layout once you have purchased 1 starting sushi upgrade (200 total starting sushi). Note that pathing might vary a bit due to the RNG in the base map layout.[/p][p]As you get more sushi, continue to build up the right side, then the back side until only 1 square of Sushi Cat is open, and continue to build a swirl pattern counter-clockwise out and around. I hope that helps![/p][p][/p][p]Thank you again for being excited for a new Sushi Cat game. We hear you, and we'll improve the experience for all players. Expect a patch next week![/p][p][/p][p]Enjoy some nigiri and hand rolls,[/p][p]-Armor Games & OverPowered[/p]
