【Missing】What happened to them

It’s me. Employee A.

Lately, I’ve found myself closing the browser I’m working in without realizing it.
I reopen the tabs from my history, but every time I do, I feel disgusted with myself for interrupting something that isn’t finished yet.
When I work late at night, I sometimes hear a voice saying, “It’s not done yet.”
Of course, there’s no one else in the room.
But occasionally, my reflection on the monitor seems to waver—just slightly.

Now, to the main issue.
Recently, I suddenly lost contact with the developer who used to join and leave our online meetings, laughing as they did.
He was working on multiple projects, yet always found time to help when we were in trouble.

We’ve been dividing up tasks like restoring data and piecing together scattered fragments,
and he mainly handled debugging when errors started appearing.

According to his colleagues, he hasn’t shown up to work for about a week.
It’s happened again.
We now have to find someone else to test and manage the bugs he was responsible for.

Are our efforts slowly beginning to fall apart—one gap at a time?

[Do Not Watch] Restoration Footage

It’s me. Employee A.

Late at night, the ticking of the clock sometimes feels strangely slow, as if the sound is overlapping with itself.
During a thunderstorm the other day, the fluorescent lights flickered for just a moment—and that kind of “waver,” even as an adult, I can’t seem to get used to it.
Even in the office during the day, I sometimes sense a presence in the far corner where no one should be.
Maybe I just haven’t been getting proper rest lately.

That aside, part of the data we’ve been restoring has started to move—just a little.
I opened it up to check, but… it’s not something you should be looking at in the middle of the night.
I recorded it as documentation, so please feel free to take a look.

Whatever you do, please don’t watch it late at night.

[Notice] Flyers at Aichi Game Castle 2

It’s me. Employee A.

The other day, while walking down the office hallway, I made eye contact with an employee I had never seen before.
I nodded politely, thinking, “Maybe they were a new hire?” But when I turned around a moment later, no one was there.
And yet, I’m certain our eyes met.
What unsettles me most is that I cannot recall their face at all, no matter how hard I try.

This time, at an indie game exhibition in Aichi called Aichi Game Castle 2, we’ll be leaving flyers and postcards for DO NOT PLAY.

[Infection] Strange Sounds, Spreading Glitches

It’s me. Employee A.

Lately, I’ve been noticing strange sounds.
Sometimes while I’m typing, my hearing seems to fade…
The familiar rhythm of keystrokes starts to blur together with a dry clattering noise.
Maybe it’s because I recently rewatched the trailer for DO NOT PLAY.
It sounded eerily similar to the faint rattling when that final character’s head begins to twitch at the end.

This month, glitches kept happening on my machine.
But it seems the same thing has begun appearing for other employees as well.
Just the other day, several members of the dev team told me their PCs were experiencing the same errors.
When I checked, it turned out to be the same kind of blue screens and corrupted text that I’d seen on my own terminal.
The corrupted text wasn’t identical, but… strangely close.

Could it be that the restored data itself carries bugs?
After all, we’ve all been sharing the recovered files within the team.
What if one of them is spreading—like some kind of virus?
For now, we’re replacing our machines to protect regular work,
but we’ll still need to analyze which of the restored files has been corrupted.

[Ominous] The Meeting Screen Looked Wrong—But Only for Me

It’s me. Employee A.

Lately, there’s been something strange happening during our online meetings.
Every now and then, the person on the other side of the camera looks… like someone else entirely.
Their voice, too—just slightly—sounds mechanical.
I kept telling myself it was nothing.
But during one meeting the other day, I knew for sure it wasn’t.

My screen was the only one acting up.
The video was distorted, and I couldn’t recognize a single face.
The emoji button I always use was warped, and the text looked like it had glitched into gibberish.
I grabbed my phone and snapped a picture in a hurry.

When I asked later, it turned out no one else had seen anything strange.
And yet… there was something even more unsettling.
Despite all the glitches, the red button that should have said “End Call” now just read “Call” —
as if it wasn’t meant to end anything, but to summon something.
It said only one word:

“call.”

It should have ended the meeting—but somehow, it felt like it was trying to summon something instead.
So I sat there, not touching it, until everyone else had left.
