Wildgate: Emergence Preview

[p][/p][p]Hello Prospectors, [/p][p][/p][p]With less than a week to go until Wildgate: Emergence, it’s time to dive deeper into everything new coming to the game on November 19! We’ll be pulling back the curtain on all our new content, including…
[/p]
  • [p]Free Weekend, Free Trial, and Double XP – Dates & Details[/p]
  • [p]New Prospector - Charlie [/p]
  • [p]New Ship - The Outlaw[/p]
  • [p]New Game Modes - Treasure Hunt and Fleet Battle[/p]
  • [p]New Weapon and Equipment – The Resonator and Medic Drone[/p]
[p][/p][p][/p]
FREE WEEKEND, TRIAL AND DOUBLE XP DETAILS
[p]In our last Dev Update, we shared how our upcoming Free Weekend and Free Trial experiences would work. Now it’s time for the dates.[/p][p]After Wildgate: Emergence launches on November 19, we’re opening the gates to everyone to try our new prospector, ship, game modes and more in a Free Weekend on Steam from November 20. Console players will also be able to leap into our Free Trial on the same day.
[/p][p]Free Weekend - Steam and Xbox - Nov 20 - Nov 24 @ 10am PT[/p][p]Free Trial - PlayStation - Starts Nov 20[/p][p]Free Trial - Steam and Xbox - Starts Nov 24 @ 2pm PT (after free weekends finish)[/p][p]Double XP Weekend - Nov 26 - Nov 28
[/p][p]We’ll also be lining up our deepest sale yet on Wildgate on Steam in time for Black Friday, with PlayStation and Xbox sales incoming afterwards during the holiday season.[/p][p]To learn more about how all of this works, visit our Player Support page.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
EMERGENCE: DEVELOPER VIDEO PREVIEW
[p][/p][p]As much as we all love a good blog, we know some of you are absolutely more video type of people. If you’d rather get the highlights straight from the Reach’s mouth, check out Dustin and Ryan running through everything new as they hop into battle in our Wildgate: Emergence Developer Preview!
[/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
NEW PROSPECTOR: CHARLIE
[p][/p][p]A veil between existences has been torn - and through it, steps Charlie!

One of the Auran, a mysterious people from close to the galactic core, Charlie has chosen to live her bio-years in the Reach. Her initial priorities? Learning about four dimensional space, understanding if hardpoints can be lonely, and investigating the appearance of some curious precursor orbs that sing in the Reach…

[/p][p]Charlie is our first prospector with more dedicated supportive abilities. She can instantly resurrect allies, and makes that easier by being able to teleport to them in the blink of an eye. This includes teleporting through walls, providing she’s not holding an Artifact!

[/p][p]Charlie thrives in the thick of the fight — darting between fires, shock fields, and reactor blasts without fear. Her connection to both the galaxy and Reach’s strange energies means she can heal from what hurts others, turning Reach Anomalies, Shock Fields and shipboard disasters alike into her own personal medbay.

As with all things Wildgate, we’ll be listening closely to your feedback on how Charlie feels for you to play. We hope she’ll give some of you the more supportive playstyle you’ve been looking for, and can’t wait to see the shenanigans you’ll get into with her in Emergence!
[/p][p][/p]
NEW SHIP: THE OUTLAW
[p]
The Outlaw is Wildgate’s first dedicated small crew ship, built for Prospectors who want tight teamwork, fast fights, and little downtime. It’ll be available to play in Treasure Hunt and Artifact Brawl. In Treasure Hunt, you can queue with an Outlaw either as a single/solo player (for the bold), or as a 2 player crew.
[/p][p]Compact, quick, and perfect for Treasure Hunt runs, the Outlaw relies on speed and precision instead of heavy armor. Everything’s in easy reach within its two-floor layout - engines, stations, and doorways, to give solo or smaller crew adventurers a fighting chance at…fighting.
[/p][p]Robot gunners are on hand to cover your flanks, and with a RoboBuddy even patrolling to help against unwanted boarders, you’ll always have some extra helping hands in a scrap. Flying straight into the guns of a Privateer may not be a fight you can easily win, but we can’t wait to see you try to prove us wrong! [/p][p]
Want to see the Outlaw in action? Check out our Emergence Preview video with Dustin and Ryan, as they take one for a spin in Treasure Hunt! [/p][p][/p][p][/p]
TWO NEW GAME MODES
[p]From community and player feedback, Wildgate’s first two new game modes arrive with Emergence next week. Treasure Hunt and Fleet Battle join the ranks.

As a result, we’ve decided to rename Artifact Hunt to Artifact Brawl. [/p][p]With Treasure Hunt’s introduction as a lower stakes, lower pressured way to play, we felt renaming Artifact Hunt to Brawl reflected its more high-pressured nature and pace.[/p][p]Here’s a deeper dive into our two new game modes. Both are ‘In Development’ - we’ll be building these together with you, and can’t wait to hear about what you think when they’re live![/p]
1) TREASURE HUNT
[p]Treasure Hunt is for Prospectors who want a slower run with big rewards — space to explore, grab loot, and (hopefully) not get vaporized.[/p][p]You’ll still fly, crack hulls, and haul treasure — just with more breathing room and opt-in danger[/p][p][/p][p]HOW IT WORKS[/p][p]Drop in, grab loot, stash it on your ship, and extract. Every piece you bring back turns into XP for your Adventure tracks — unlocking skins, characters, gadgets, and the new Emergence Adventure track.[/p][p][/p][p]WHAT’S DIFFERENT[/p]
  • [p]3 Always-Open Wildgates: Leave anytime. No Artifact needed.[/p]
  • [p]Dynamic Quests: Up to 5 optional objectives per match — Be warned - some may require co-operating with other crews. It’s dangerous to go alone.

    [/p]
  • [p]Optional PvP - There might be other crews in your sector — or maybe not. You can fight them for extra loot, or stay focused on the haul.[/p]
  • [p]Cursed Hardpoints - new to Treasure Hunt, these hardpoints will give you a unique benefit, but at a price. Use Cursed Hardpoints to add challenge, risk and reward to your runs![/p]
  • [p]AI Encounters - Treasure Hunt mixes scavenging with ship battles against raiders, drones, and whatever else calls the Reach home.[/p]
  • [p]3 Player Ships Maximum - this game mode will require less players and crews for a match to start. Our new 2 player ship, the Outlaw, will be available to queue as both a 2 person and solo crew to further support this.[/p]
[p]Be warned - stay in the Reach for a long time, and player ships may not be the only thing that begins hunting you. Whether you push your luck for one more quest and run into an unexpected surprise, or sprint to the nearest gate with your cargo on fire, every treasure run tells a story!
[/p]
2) FLEET BATTLE
[p]If Treasure Hunt is the Reach’s version of a quieter night in, Fleet Battle is the opposite.[/p][p]This new game mode drops you straight into the brawl. Minimal scavenging, maximum combat - you spawn, you boost, and someone’s hull is on fire within minutes.[/p][p]Here, two teams of up to 12 players each battle across fleets of three ships per side.[/p][p]It’s all about close-quarters ship combat, constant boarding, and relentless shenanigans.[/p][p]The first team to 2000 points wins. Points can be scored by retrieving Artifacts (which spawn regularly), destroying enemy prospectors and ships. Ships respawn - so if you’re down, you’re never out of the action for long.

To give you different ways to create some new kinds of chaos, Fleet Battle has several differences from Artifact Brawl.[/p]
  • [p]Unlimited ice, fuel, and torpedoes[/p]
  • [p]Reactor overloads are more dangerous[/p]
  • [p]Ships spawn less fires[/p]
  • [p]POIs are all revealed at match start[/p]
  • [p]Robot gunner support on every ship[/p]
  • [p]Auto-ice your reactor after taking damage[/p]
  • [p]Ships respawn quickly[/p]
  • [p]Backfill always enabled - drop in and drop out[/p]
[p]Finally, turbines are available on tap in Fleet Battle! You’ll be able to tap C to summon one at any time to speed you into any fight of your choice. Due to strange Reach energy field fluctuations, these turbines miraculously disappear once unequipped. Sal is somewhat disappointed at this, to say the least.[/p][p]At launch, 4 player ships (Hunter, Privateer, Bastion) will be available in Fleet Battle. With Emergence, the Scout is becoming a 3 player ship. As with all things Wildgate, we’ll be listening to your feedback on Fleet Battle, seeing how you play the mode, and making changes as we go.[/p][p]Whether you’re testing a new loadout or just need to blow off steam after a tough Artifact Brawl, we hope Fleet Battle will give you a great place to watch (or make) the Reach burn.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
NEW ADVENTURE TRACK
[p][/p][p]A new free Adventure Track arrives with Emergence, packed with 48 new rewards to earn! From the elegant Aetheron collection to some more of the chaotic Reach Renegade line, there are sprays, voice lines, ship names, skins, fireworks, and of course, a brand-new Prospector in Charlie herself. If selected in your Rewards menu, any Treasure Hunt hauls, Fleet Battle victories or Artifact Brawl games will count towards earning you some sweet, sweet loot.

[/p][p][/p]
NEW WEAPON: THE RESONATOR
[p]
[/p][p]The Resonator is a rhythmic weapon — part energy cannon, part grenade launcher. Charge the weapon by hitting things with its beam primary fire, then blast away with a charged up right click grenade secondary fire for big damage.

[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
NEW EQUIPMENT: MEDIC DRONE
[p]
[/p][p]Meet the Medic (Drone) — the third member of Wildgate’s robo-buddy family!

If the Attack Drone is your floating turret and the Repair Drone is your mobile wrench, this one’s your pocket paramedic.
[/p][p]Deploy it anywhere inside or outside your ship and it’ll hover near its owner, patching up any Prospectors or allies in range.

[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
NEW POI: EUPHONIC SPHERES
[p]
[/p][p]There are places in the Reach that were never meant for Prospectors.[/p][p]Massive, hollow orbs drift through the void — ancient, humming, and alive with strange resonance.

They’ve become known as ‘Euphonic Spheres’ around the Docks, though no one agrees who named them first. With their architecture hinting at craftsmanship of  precursor civilization origin, their purpose so far is unknown. Their secrets will be yours to unlock in Emergence.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
CUSTOM LOBBIES, A NEW REACH REGION AND MORE
[p]
We’ve packed a lot of content into Emergence, but these aren’t the only things in our biggest update yet. In our previous Dev Update, we’ve revealed the scorched wastelands of an area of the Reach known as the Dead Worlds, as well as a long-requested feature that lets you run the Reach with your friends in Custom Lobbies
[/p][p]Check out our previous blog for more details on these, which also launch on November 19![/p][p]
[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
A WORD FROM MOONSHOT
[p]
There’s a lot packed into Emergence — our first new Prospector, a new ship, two new game modes, new weapons, new gear, a new region of the Reach, and the biggest round of additions and improvements we’ve made yet. We hope this update gives existing players and owners of Wildgate great reasons to jump back in and see what’s changed. As for new players (and perhaps your friends), it’s the perfect moment to try Wildgate for free during our Free Weekend and Trial ongoing after.[/p][p][/p][p]We’re incredibly excited for you to play it all — and, if we’re honest, a little nervous too. Launching something this big always comes with a mix of pride, hope, but also realism. Wildgate has come a long way since launch, and we know there’s still plenty more to do.[/p][p][/p][p]As always, we’d love to hear what you think. Share your feedback, clips, and chaos with us in the official Wildgate Discord feedback forums, in the comments here, or wherever you’re discussing Wildgate — it’s where we listen, learn, and build the next steps together.
[/p][p]Thank you for crewing up with us, and once more - into the Reach!

Wildgate Receives New Game Modes, Character and More In Massive Content Update

Since its launch in April, Wildgate has been receiving steady updates to enhance its world and balance its gameplay, but now players can look forward to a significant content update.

Announced via press release, Dreamhaven and Moonshot Games will introduce their “Emergence” update to Wildgate on November 19th, 2025. The update will include two new game modes alongside a new Prospector, weapons and equipment, ship, as well as several new features for play.

The “Treasure Hunt” game mode will allow players to enter the Reach, salvage valuable treasure, and escape without getting blown up and what’s described as a “slightly more relaxed experience.” Players will be able to fight AI-controlled ships (the normal videogame kind), complete quests and choose to extract whenever they want, as well as to turn their haul into rewards.

The “Fleet Battle” game mode will pit players against each other in 3v3 battles, where players... Read more

Dev Update #3 - Wildgate: Emergence

[p][/p][p]Hello Prospectors,
[/p][p]As the dust from the Hallowed Beyond settles and the crews of the Lucky Docks pull down their decorations, it’s time to talk about what’s coming next for Wildgate.
[/p][p]On November 19, Wildgate’s first major (and free!) update arrives: Wildgate: Emergence.[/p][p]
Today, we’ll be peeling back the curtain behind some of what’s coming in Emergence, as well as sharing more updates on some items on our Roadmap.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
WHY “EMERGENCE”?
[p]
We first called this update “Season 1,” but as it evolved, that name stopped feeling right. Emergence better captures what this moment is for Wildgate - a turning point, not a destination.[/p][p][/p][p]This update marks progress: new modes, new ways to play, and systems that lay important groundwork for what’s ahead. It’s not the “complete” experience some players might be hoping for yet - there’s still more to build, and some features may feel early or limited - but it moves the game meaningfully closer to where we want it to be.[/p][p][/p][p]In science and art, emergent intelligence describes how small parts combine into something greater than the sum of their pieces. That idea felt right for us - every fix, feature, and bit of player feedback adding up to a stronger Wildgate, even if the journey isn’t finished.[/p][p]
Emergence isn’t about an endpoint; it’s about moving forward - discovery, collaboration, and steady growth.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
WHAT WE'RE SHARING, AND WHEN
[p][/p][p] In this update, we’ll be sharing a preview of our first new Prospector, introducing a second new game mode, quickly running through Custom Lobbies, and explaining both when and how our Free Weekend and Free Trial experiences will work.
[/p][p]Over the next two weeks, we’ll be sharing a closer look at everything inside Wildgate: Emergence - from revealing our new Prospector and diving deeper into two new game modes, to the new 2-player ship built for small crews (including solo play), plus our new Adventure track and more.
[/p][p]You’ll see a lot more very soon across Discord, X, TikTok, and YouTube — including our full Emergence preview video and deep-dive blog next week.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
BEHIND THE DESIGN: OUR NEW PROSPECTOR
[p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Internally, her codename was “Space Elf” - and that early nickname tells you a lot about where she started. We wanted someone who felt otherworldly and serene, a contrast to Wildgate’s rough-and-ready cast.[/p][p][/p][p]The first versions were… unusual. “Beautiful tentacles” showed up in the concept notes more than once - an idea that stuck around in spirit even as her design became more elegant and grounded[/p][p]
[/p][p][/p]
[p]“She started weird, and we loved that. The trick was keeping that alien grace while making her feel real.” - Laurel Austin, Production Designer[/p]
[p][/p]
[p]“All of our characters are first conceived by the Art team. From there, we work on the personality and then the abilities of the character. On the design side we wanted something new for this character and we had heard some feedback from players about wanting a support character. Given her more "open and friendly" personality this seemed like a solid fit for this new Prospector.” - Dustin Browder, Game Director[/p]
[p][/p][p]We’re not revealing her name or her full abilities just yet - that’ll come in next week’s deep dive - but she brings a very different energy to the Reach. A little calmer. A little stranger. And maybe a little more connected to whatever’s waiting beyond the veil.[/p][p][/p][p]Next week, we’ll show you how she bends the rules of boarding, survival, and life among the stars.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p][/p][p][/p]
INTRODUCING: THE SECOND NEW GAME MODE
[p][/p][p]In our September Dev Update, we shared a new game mode with you that offers a more relaxed, risk-versus-reward way to play. What we weren’t ready to share then is that we’ve also been building another mode. This second new mode is built for those who love the fight.[/p][p][/p][p] Your fleet of three crews (12 players total) will be able to pick from the Bastion, Privateer, and Hunter to battle another fleet across a smaller region of the Reach. Each fleet works together to fill a shared score bar by completing objectives - first to the top wins! Ships continually respawn throughout the match, and you’re free to jump in and support other crews on your team at any time. That means less downtime, more action, and a stronger sense that every player can make a difference - no matter how their individual game goes.[/p][p][/p][p]We’ve had a blast testing it internally, but like New Game Mode 1 (names soon, we promise!) it’s still marked as “In Development.” We’re thinking over what additional options could look like, for example, and don’t have the Outlaw or Scout playable here while we consider if they have a place in this game mode. What’s shipping in Emergence is just the "emergence" (🫡)  of what we want this chaotic, action packed mode to evolve into. We want your feedback while we keep tuning it, so we can build future iterations of it together.[/p][p][/p][p]From your feedback, we hope that these new game modes will give you more choices that match how you want to play at any given time. Some nights you’re in the mood for some Artifact Hunt, where every second matters, and every move could make or break the run. Other times, you’ll just want to fire up your ship guns and cause a little trouble, or kick back roaming the Reach, grabbing some treasure, and seeing what luck has in store. Across a night or a few days, you may drift between all three.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
THE REACH EXPANDS
[p]With Emergence, we’re opening a new region of the Reach - the “Dead Worlds” (a working name for now).

[/p][p]Here, there are no ice asteroids at all, meaning the five ice you start with must last your entire expedition. Every jump and encounter carries more weight when resources are scarce.[/p][p][/p][p]Help does exist, though. Vampire Hardpoints let you siphon energy from wrecked ships or tap into Crimson Towers to repair your vessel. You’ll also find ancient Travel Rings left behind by a long-lost civilization - strange gateways that propel your ship forward in bursts of energy and hint at deeper mysteries in the Reach.[/p][p][/p][p]The Desert Reach is a harsher, stranger slice of the galaxy - a place where risk and reward are tightly wound together. It’s the perfect testing ground for daring Prospectors looking to see just how far they can go before the cold catches up.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
CUSTOM LOBBIES
[p][/p][p]Since launch, players have been asking for Custom Lobbies for all kinds of reasons. Some of you want ways to compete and host matches within your own communities, while others are looking to experiment, practice, or just mess around with your friends in Wildgate.[/p][p][/p][p]When Emergence launches, you’ll be able to use Custom Lobbies to host your own Wildgate matches. Create a lobby, invite friends (or rivals), and tweak your setup. You’ll be able to join with a lobby code, move between teams, choose your ships, and, if you’re the host, set a few basic options to shape the fight. This first release supports Artifact Hunt mode only - we’ll be watching how you use it before expanding further in the next few updates.[/p][p]
[/p][p]Custom Lobbies also support two observers, complete with a spectator UI and their own chat channel — perfect for tournament organizers, content creators, or anyone who wants to turn the Reach into a stage. Custom lobbies also work with Streamer mode, in case you want to obscure your player name while adventuring in the Reach.[/p][p]
We hope this opens the door for some different kinds of fun - whether you’re a creative, competitive, or ‘what happens if I attach 5 clamp jets to a Legion Ship?’ player.
[/p][p][/p]
FREE WEEKEND AND FREE TRIAL
[p][/p][p]We’ve heard it loud and clear - you want easier ways to bring friends aboard.[/p][p][/p][p]Starting at the end of November, Wildgate will host a Steam Free Weekend, followed by an ongoing Free Trial. We'll share specific dates next week in our Wildgate: Emergence Preview.[/p][p][/p][p]These have taken time to get right, both technically and in their timing. Free Weekends depend on platform coordination and some development work, and we wanted to launch them once our game had grown into a better place for new players to start, and hopefully stick.[/p][p][/p][p]How Steam Free Weekend Will Work[/p]
  • [p]Anyone can download and play Wildgate in full during the Free Weekend. [/p]
  • [p]Progress carries over if you decide to buy the game![/p]
[p][/p][p]About Free Trial on Console & Steam[/p]
  • [p]Console: players will be able to dive into our Free Trial starting at the end of November[/p]
  • [p]Steam: after the Steam Free Weekend ends, new Steam players can also try Wildgate at any time through our Free Trial.[/p]
  • [p]Content: New players will have full gameplay access up to Prospector Level 5 - explore any region, try all game modes, and follow any adventure path.[/p]
[p]
Please note!

Upon reaching Level 5, social features such as matchmaking and party play will be disabled, and your party privacy will automatically switch to Closed.

Free Trial progression is capped at early-level unlocks, with no advancement beyond Level 5. If you decide to purchase the game, all progress made during the Free Trial will carry over to your full account. (Accounts that have previously reached Level 5 - during the Free Weekend or earlier - won’t have Free Trial access on that same account.)[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
NO MORE ROTATIONS: THE WILDGATE SHOP GOES EVERGREEN
[p][/p][p]With Emergence, we’re evolving Wildgate’s in-game shop. No more limited-time rotations - everything that’s currently available will stay available, ready whenever you are. This shift gives you more freedom to browse, plan, and collect at your own pace, while helping us build a shop that grows alongside the game. [/p][p][/p][p]You’ll still see a Featured tab highlighting new and curated sets, but the full catalog will now live under clear categories like Ships & Ship Sets, Prospector Outfits, and Weapons Styles. Over time, we’ll keep adding new cosmetics without cycling out old favorites - turning the shop into a lasting showcase of the Reach’s style and history. [/p][p][/p][p][/p]
BEYOND EMERGENCE: WHAT'S NEXT
[p][/p][p]Once Emergence launches, our focus shifts to what’s next.
[/p][p]We’ll be watching how balance may change across both new modes and Artifact Hunt, as well as how our new Prospector, ship, weapon, equipment, POI and Reach Anomalies shake up the Reach.[/p][p][/p][p]Some work-in-progress, unannounced content and features narrowly missed this update. We’re continuing work on these, and if they get to a place we’re happy with, they may find their way into our Mid-Season Patch instead.[/p][p]
We’ve also started early work on what a Winter event for the Reach might look like! Nothing to announce yet, but we’d love to hear what you’d like to see. Drop your ideas in our Discord if you’re feeling…festive.[/p][p][/p]
A WORD FROM MOONSHOT
[p]
Emergence has been a long time coming. It represents both a lot of planned work since way before launch, and a lot of extra work we’ve seen that needed to be done for Wildgate from community feedback since launch and beyond.[/p][p][/p][p]We’re optimistic, but of course, realistic too - as we’ve said in previous Dev Updates, it’s been a tough few months. Emergence isn’t a silver bullet, it’s our next step forward. This update is not us promising the world, but rather us continuing to work hard to make the Reach a better place to adventure in for all of you.[/p][p]
We’re really excited to be sharing more about Emergence with you from next week’s Emergence Preview onwards, and for you to try it all out for yourself from November 19.[/p][p][/p][p]Thank you for flying with us, for challenging us, and for helping shape this wild experiment in space crime and chaos! See you in the Reach 🌌[/p][p][/p][p]– The Moonshot Team[/p][p]

  • [p]⚖ Balance changes[/p]
  • [p]🔫 Loadout changes in Pre-match/Lucky Docks[/p]
  • [p]🐛 Bug Fixes[/p]
  • [p]…and more![/p]
[p]
[/p]
HALLOWED BEYOND - NEW SEASONAL EVENT
[p][/p][p]DEV NOTE:  Happy Hallowed Beyond! This is the time in the Reach where the Prospectors celebrate death and candy! You know. For reasons?[/p]
  • [p]A Spooky Reach - enjoy an eerie Reach with clouds of ominous fog and scary storms in your matches, POIs ready for tricking and treating, and a Lucky Docks themed up for a party!
    [/p]
  • [p]Beware of The Dark - a spooky surprise lies in wait for those who loot the carcasses of destroyed ships…[/p]
  • [p]Hallowed Crates -  now available in Reach loot rooms, with 16 new items to collect.[/p]
  • [p]Login Reward -  log in before November 6 to get a Space o’ Lantern firework surprise![/p]
  • [p]Shop Update - Phantom Mophs and Opulent Sal join the crew for the next two weeks.[/p]
  • [p]‘Gate Crasher’ title grant - anyone who has bought and logged into Wildgate before 10am PT on Oct 21 will receive this title. Thank you for being here with us early on the journey![/p][p][/p]
NEW REACH ANOMALIES
[p][/p][p]DEV NOTE: Historically we’ve added new gameplay content to the Reach roughly every two weeks since launch. This time we’ve released these items as part of a larger update in response to some of your feedback.

Crystals (Reach Resource)[/p]
  • [p]A new resource mineable in the Reach, Crystals add max HP to your ship when mined and deposited in your ship processor.[/p]
[p]
Barrier Turbine[/p]
  • [p]Thanks to new prototype Millkoh technology (Sal was bored), some turbines have been souped up with some extra shielding! Prospectors are immune to cosmic storm, shock-field and fire while using these handheld terrors. Fly responsibly.[/p]
[p][/p][p]Racing Booster[/p]
  • [p]Gotta go fast(er)? If you’re looking for a bigger and longer boost, strap one of these to your ship - just control the resulting thrust a bit better than Adrian does.[/p]
[p] Vampire Hardpoint[/p]
  • [p]This succulent hardpoint feeds upon the souls of dead ships, slowly leeching health to heal your ship while within a short distance. Don’t touch the fangs.[/p][p][/p]
THE REACH
[p][/p][p]DEV NOTE: We found that ships rarely run out of ice, but often run out of fuel. Small adjustments here to allow for more maneuverability and to make ice a little more precious.[/p]
  • [p]Fuel Chunks now provide 3 instead of 2[/p]
  • [p]Ice Chunks now provide 4 instead of 5[/p][p][/p]

SHIPS
[p][/p][p]DEV NOTE: Hopefully this adjustment will allow ships to maneuver a little bit against a lot of the close combat strategies we have seen in previous metas. This gives pilots some more options and makes ships feel 4% more agile. (We measured. Feels 4% better)
[/p]
  • [p]Ships now go in reverse at 60% of forward speed instead of 50% of forward speed. [/p][p][/p]

PROSPECTORS
[p][/p][p]DEV NOTE: We are seeing a lot of defensive cloaked Mophs players dominating ship defense. This small change makes that a little harder. [/p][p][/p][p]Sammo[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug where Sammo would heal off a drone. This should now only work on NPCs and player characters.[/p]
[p]
Mophs[/p]
  • [p]Mophs’ cloak is now less strong when he isn’t inside enemy ships.
    [/p]

WEAPONS AND ITEMS
[p][/p][p]DEV NOTE: We previously buffed Attack Drone and Impact Can as they were seeing little use. These buffs caused these items to dominate the game and so are being pulled back. Clamp Jets not being hit by ramming damage preserves these tools to be used by their crew rather than being randomly destroyed.[/p][p][/p][p]Attack Drone[/p]
  • [p]Reduced attack drone radius to 7m (from 10)[/p]
[p]
Impact Can[/p]
  • [p]Reduced impact grenade damage to 60 (from 80)[/p]
[p][/p][p]Clamp Jet[/p]
  • [p]Clamp Jets are now immune to ramming damage
    [/p]

TRAINING RANGE
[p][/p][p]DEV NOTE: Due to extensive player feedback, we have increased the match timer in the Firing Range from 10 minutes to 11 minutes. This gives our prospectors significantly more time to read the tooltips on the various hardpoint devices, ship weapons and artifact mechanics that they will encounter out there in the Reach.[/p][p][/p][p]Preparation is the key to success in a place as dangerous as the Reach.[/p][p]
“There were so many tooltips to read, and before I could truly internalize all of the important information they were offering, I was being alerted that the match was almost over.”

“Honestly, the emotional toll of these alerts was so unexpected that my brain simply couldn't hold onto any information. With the increased time available to me, my Reach knowledge and overall performance as a prospector is at least 9% better."  -Anonymous Discord Reach Legend

Space Is Getting Spooky - Hallowed Beyond Arrives October 23!

[p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Green gases swirl around the Typhon Reach. In the dark, dilapidated and dank hull of a long-abandoned ship, something lingers…
[/p][p]Wildgate’s first seasonal event, Hallowed Beyond, arrives October 23 and runs through November 6 — this one isn’t for the faint of heart!

[/p]
INTRODUCING: HALLOWED BEYOND
[p] [/p][p][/p][p]Across the Accord, Hallowed Beyond marks a night where the living honor the lost with light, color, and fantastic food! Once a solemn ritual to appease the dead, it has since evolved into a vibrant celebration of remembrance. Homes glow with bioluminescent art as people gather, painted and costumed, to celebrate and commemorate together. Every offering, every outfit, carries a blessing for those who’ve passed; particularly for the soldiers who gave their life in the recent 100 Year War, and those still here to remember them.
[/p]
ALL HALLOWS IN THE HANGERS
[p]
Denizens of the Lucky Docks have joined the party, dressing up the hangers for the occasion and even renaming some of their ships in spooky and seasonal ways! Good humor and bad puns may abound. Rumor has it that out in the Reach, some of the creatures calling it home have decked out their dwellings, too.

[/p][p][/p][p]Recent probe scans have picked up eerie clouds and strange wrecks emerging from thick mists. The superstitious might say that the universe itself is reacting to some unseen power…[/p][p]In the Reach, however, it could just be another Tuesday. Watch out for things lurking in the fog - particularly if they’re firing an Entropy Cannon.[/p][p] [/p][p][/p][p][/p]
WE CALL THEM FRANK
[p]
During Hallowed Beyond, old prospector tales speak of lost spirits roaming the Reach, searching for eternal rest. Step onboard a destroyed ship, and you might find a Legion Ghost waiting! [/p][p]
[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Frank isn’t impossible to exorcise, but they’ll soak up plenty of ammo before going down. Drop them, and you may earn some treats for your troubles…if you survive their welcoming party.
[/p]
TRICKS AND TREATS
[p]If you’d prefer to skip the spectres, Hallowed Crates can be found around the Reach for a limited time! You’ll notice them lurking in loot rooms with bioluminescent markings and eerie particles.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]
With 16 spooky items there for the taking, Hallowed Crates work exactly the same as Scrap Crates. Your entire crew gets credit for any Crate opened, whether they’re close to the crate or not.
[/p][p]Last, but by no means least, when you log in through the duration of Hallowed Beyond, make sure you log in before November 6th to receive a boo-tiful pumpkin firework surprise![/p][p]
[/p][p] [/p][p][/p]
REACH DROPS: HALLOWED BEYOND
[p]We've been adding new content to Wildgate and the Reach roughly every two weeks since launch as 'Reach Anomalies'. We've had feedback from you all both enjoying these regular updates, and also wanting more substantial updates perhaps on a slightly less regular basis. This time around, we've added new Reach Anomalies to Hallowed Beyond launching next week to try this on for size. Here's a sneak peak as to what will be new to the Reach next Thursday!

Crystals:

In the wake of billowing green nebulae, strange crystals have begun appearing in the Reach. Academy researchers have discovered some unusual properties — when refined in standard ship processors, these crystals emit an energy pulse that appears to spread through a ship’s hull, reinforcing it as it travels.

In terms that Ion could understand: each mined crystal put into your ship processor permanently increases your ship’s max hit points![/p][p]
[/p][p]Vampire Hardpoint:

This succulent hardpoint feeds upon the souls of dead ships, slowly leeching health to heal your ship while within a short distance. Don’t touch the fangs.

[/p][p] [/p][p]Barrier Turbine:

Thanks to new prototype Millkoh technology (Sal was bored), some turbines have been souped up with some extra shielding! Prospectors are immune to cosmic storm, shock-field and fire while using these handheld terrors. Fly responsibly.

[/p][p]Racing Booster:

Gotta go fast(er)? If you’re looking for a bigger and longer boost, strap one of these to your ship - just control the resulting thrust a bit better than Adrian does.

Here’s the rotation for the two weeks of Hallowed Beyond.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
FRIGHT AND FLIGHT
[p][/p][p] [/p][p][/p][p]As the green mists roll in and lanterns flicker across the Lucky Docks, the Reach feels stranger and more mysterious than ever. Between haunted hulls, cursed crates, and eerie new tech from beyond, every run is a gamble with the unknown. Whether you’re chasing Hallowed Crates, testing new hardpoints, or just showing off your bioluminescent best, one thing’s certain: no one escapes the Hallowed Beyond unchanged.
[/p][p]Steel your nerves, light your path with fireworks, and dive into the mists when Hallowed Beyond arrives October 23![/p][p]
