Playtest in numbers! Plus info about release

[p]Aloha! 💙[/p][p][/p][p]We would like to share a few words regarding the Gambonanza playtest that ended last week, as well as our plans for the release.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][h2]Let’s sum it up[/h2][p][/p][p]We are extremely grateful for the amazing help we received throughout the playtest! 🙇[/p][p][/p][p]Here are some crazy numbers we reached together:[/p][p][/p]

  • [p]1,150 hours watched on Twitch[/p]
  • [p]450 new members on Discord[/p]
  • [p]30+ bugs fixed 🔧[/p]
[p][/p][p]Thank you all so much for taking part in this adventure![/p][p][/p][h2]Regarding release[/h2][p][/p][p]We were happily surprised by the overwhelmingly large amount of positive feedback we received! It was an immense pleasure to read about your experiences and ideas. ❤️[/p][p][/p][p]The goal now is to address your findings and improve the game further. There are plenty of surprises to add, new gambits, new tiles, challenges, achievements, bosses, and much more! This does unfortunately mean that the release will be pushed back a few months.[/p][p][/p][p]As the developer, we are certain this is the best choice for both Gambonanza and you, the players! And the end result will be even more fun and polished.[/p][p][/p][p]Thank you for your patience and understanding - we will make sure to keep you up to date with the progress! There is no specific date in mind yet. The best way to be the first to know when we share something new?[/p][p][/p]

In other news...

[h2]The free playtest will end on August 21st. ❗️[/h2]

All good things inevitably end and our open playtest is also nearing its conclusion. From there, we will be moving to the sign-up model so you will be able to apply for future playtests by pressing a button on Gambonanza’s store page.

But before that happens, we are dropping a new update that you can try right now. We think we may have found the bug affecting certain Mac versions, as well as another one some players reported, where certain pieces couldn’t be clicked in specific situations. Can you verify and report back? 🙏

- [FIX] Fixed a bug affecting Mac M1 chip devices.
- [FIX] Fixed an issue where pieces became unclickable if, when reaching their final position at the end of a game, another piece was already occupying that spot.
- [FIX] Fixed an issue where Makibishi's Gambit would not trigger Dead or Alive's Gambit.
- [FIX] Fixed a bug where the wrong boss was sometimes loaded.
- [FIX] Fixed an offset issue on the board when loading it after defeating a boss in the shop.

  • [p]I find a fix for the Mac capture issue affecting some players[/p]
  • [p]Or someone finds a blocking bug that makes the game unplayable[/p]
[hr][/hr][h2]🔮 Looking ahead…[/h2][p]Thank you all so much for sharing your ideas, your frustrations, and your unique ways to play![/p][p]It helped me see that some Gambits are very (too?) strong. I love how they’re being used, and I won’t nerf them to the ground.[/p][p]Instead, I’m planning to tweak them, keep their soul and fun gameplay, but add a little twist I’m keeping secret for now 😏[/p][p]I’m thinking about:[/p]
  • [p]Apocalypse Gambit[/p]
  • [p]Valhalla Gambit[/p]
  • [p]Chicken Gambit[/p]
[p]Other Gambits that are on my radar but that will get a different treatment:[/p]
  • [p]Lemmong’s Gambit[/p]
  • [p]Warlock’s Gambit[/p]
  • [p]Weird Pot’s Gambit[/p]

[p]Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE how those Gambits works! I just want to make the game more fun and balanced by tweaking them without changing their core mechanic![/p][p]And lastly, the Gambler Gambit felt a bit too powerful… I’ve moved it from Epic to Legendary.
